Anyone even remotely defending tanks is immediately met with a uninformed s h i t storm of anecdotal evidence and general unpleasantries that sooner or later they just leave the anti-tank whiners to them selves. This is what I'm afraid really happened. As CCP thought the whiners were the only voice on the matter.
They were whining then, they are gloating now at their oh so great skills they don't have. Killing tanks were a challenge, as it should be, and the shield tanks wouldn't have been near impossible had it not been for the shield bugs. Fixing those bugs would have been all that was needed, but the whiners got their way, and now tanks are next to useless, So killing tanks should be a challenge, but using a tank effectively shouldn't have to be? Tankers were telling everybody else to use teamwork to take out tanks, yet when the tides are turned and they get a taste of their own medicine, they think it is unfair or unjustified? Sorry, but if I have to use teamwork to do well as a ground troop, then tankers should too.
Even if a tank is using teamwork you can kill it from across the map with swarms and forge guns, out of range of your infantry support. The ONLY defense a tank has against that is shelling the area it came from, using the splash to remove the threat, but they took that away. Even after the AV nerf and before the tank one it was easy to kill tanks, you just had to lure them into ambushes.
Sadly, CCP listened to the wtfsolopwndropsuit crowd. |

Cant wait till n00bs will cry about the type 2 suits to be nerfed or even be removed. Well good players will allways go with the stuff that works out the best. Before it where tanks now we will see a increase of people with type 2 suits (heavys and assault) cause they are the best avaible. advanced or proto suits are crap cause you only get a additional module slot while you still keep shields/armor like a type 1 suit.
I did have the same opinion of advanced vs type2. Then I fitted a Duvolle and weapon mod. Sure I have less HP but I have about 20% more damage. Certainly the type2 is far more cost effective, other than militia tanks I have nothing else worth wasting ISK on. I imagine we'll see changes to base stats for dropsuits, HAV and Dropships before release,CCP just need us to test modules.
Look at the starter fits and the fits CCP showed on that dev blog. They need us to find broken fits like we did with tanks. |

half the ppl on these forums cry use teamwork but yet id say the vasty majority of ppl here have never or very rarely played in organised PROPER teamplay aka clan matches and against good opponents.
in the corp battles no tank that was dropped on tronnhadar in the battles ive played made it out alive we either had coordinated AV spam or dropped a tank of our own
while i agree the tanks needed a slight nerf and the turret turn speeds are good imo, u dont nerf the **** out of them and buff the stuff to kill them its either 1 or the other not both
I had my corpmate solo a sargaris with a forge......yea so much for "teamplay" eh scrubs? 1 guy should never be able to solo a tank and a tank when faced with coordinated AV spam will need help from both infantry and his gunners to survive
too many terrible players on these forums that cry too much when something is killing them too often. Problem was never the tanks (except for the shield tanks, those took a bit too much punishment) problem was when teams dropped 4 tanks on u and u only have ur squad if ur lucky running AV and the other 12 retards just running around like sheep with their proto ars and proto dropsuits but not a single point into AV then come and moan.
zomg heavies are killing me too often because i run straight at them....nerf it CCP zomg i cant kill marauders with miliita swarms CCP...nerf it zomg the creodron kills me even tho the hit detection is god awful so we dont really know if its op or not....fck that nerf it ccp
ppl cry of teamwork but lets face it the vast majority of yall never used it. If my guy can still rip tanks during the nerf with his forge gun along with us backing him up with AV nades and proto swarms then tell me was both the nerf AND buff to av necessary? or were ppl too lazy?
i vote lazy....gamers in general these days are flat out lazy and dont want to work or challenge themselves if u allowed 1-2 tanks to run u off the map then ur team is terrible and u werent using teamwork. 3-4 yea at that point its only common sense that u will need a tank of ur own
a team that utilizes ALL aspects of the game both vehicle and infantry will and should have an advantage over a pure infantry team...thats just common sense. |

^^^ Teamwork is not encouraged. Few players will use mics and we don't have ways to communicate orders/tactics non verbally or without typing (typing strategies/orders mid-battle is not good/wise from my experience) . I proposed a command wheel months ago to make teamwork accessible by everyone at least at a basic level and CCP never answered me, nor showed interest in the idea. With that at least everyone would have been able to communicated easily and possibly teamwork would have flourished in Dust.
Personally I think that players should not be asked to buy a mic to get the best out of a F2P; in a FPS MMO on PS3 we should have had tools to communicate in ways that are intuitive, quick and appropriate to the limitation of the standard controls we have. |

if you are getting killed from across the map by a forge gun then either a) you were really weak already and he got a lucky hit, b) you are doing something wrong (no offense). i am mainly a forge user, only thing im specd for. Hitting a tank across a map with a forge is a total crap shoot. Cant zoom in at all, plus screen shakes ridiculously (should be a skill to decrease this a little), so even if you are 'aiming' at the tank there is no guarentee you are going to hit it. I have hit tanks at a good distance, but usually its about a 1 in 3 hit ratio. Then add in if the tank is moving and it becomes impossible.
Def do agree with you about it being easy to take out tanks before the buff/nerf, just needed teamwork (lol that teamwork word again). Me and a 2 corp mates took out a surya, sagaris, and unlucky sica, all within a few seconds of each other. Bated them in to our 2 standard tanks, with me on the other side of the road with my forge.
The way they should have updated tanks imo is to have just nerfed the tanks, then see what they get from that. The splash damage removed from the railgun i still dont understand, made it slower and took away splash damage.

You do realize these people will never make it in corps without a mic and will be perpetually curb stomped until their ragequit or spend 10$ on a bluetooth mic. |

The sniping forgegun is usually on more open maps like the one with the 5 control points. Its also pretty hard to tell where the forgegunner is much of the time. I agree with the rest though, ambushing tanks was fun because it was challenging. The overnerf on the railgun reminds me of the overnerf on the HMG. :( Less explosions = less fun .

guess ive never tried to snipe on the open map. still wouldnt leaves heavy as sniper prey. wont say how ive been usin my forge for tank battles, but i like to try and find a good ambush site where the tank might stop for a little. since it takes a bit to get goin again i can always get in that extra shot.

Tankers NEVER came in here and rubbed the AV nerf in your face. All we ever told you to do was to try to work together and ambush tanks, which DID work. Now we got solo swarmin' BS. They dont even require a lockon, just spawn behind the tank, spam missiles at close range, win. Thats an I win button more than any of the tanks ever were. Atleast with the railgunnlogi I have to track you to hit you, which does take skill. A majority of the kills I had with it were ******** snipers or heavies standing still.
They didn't need to, dumbass. Nor did they want to. They'd prefer to be in game getting 9001 kills, while everybody got annoyed with them for abusing a broken game.

Same thing with the tank. I've processed a ton of assualt dropsuits who run at the tank firing an assault riffle, saying "Here I am!!!!!!" Back the tank up, drop a rail at their feet. Then they come here and complain. |

yea the amount of times ive seen people shooting tanks with an ar is astounding. Do they really think that is going to work very well. Yea on LAVs it does to a point but its only going to end in their quick death. as a corpmate of mine said "shooting my tank does 1 of 2 things. either just annoys me enough to back up a little, or gives away their position adn they get rail sniped"
