See this is the smug **** I am talking about. Tankers NEVER came in here and rubbed the AV nerf in your face. All we ever told you to do was to try to work together and ambush tanks, which DID work. Now we got solo swarmin' BS. They dont even require a lockon, just spawn behind the tank, spam missiles at close range, win. Thats an I win button more than any of the tanks ever were. Atleast with the railgunnlogi I have to track you to hit you, which does take skill. A majority of the kills I had with it were ******** snipers or heavies standing still. |

I'm on the tanks side in this one, I don't think they really needed much of a nerf just fix the resistor bugs, I agree with lowering the splash on rail guns, and buff the AV and I think all would have been well. Before the nerf I have known a few players to be very good at AV and they would more often than not put the tanks on the defensive. The problem was the lack of team work because while we had squads we couldn't fill an entire team, which would have been very helpful and will change next build. I understand that they wanted the tanks to need infantry support but all they did was switch the same situation AV had over to the tanks, only like you mentioned tanks don't have targeting.
I'd be ok with the reduced splash as long as I could still use my skill to hit people with the railgun. In ambush matches the tank was the only thing preventing the match from turning into 12 vs 12 snipers. |

Actually some did (I'm not gonna name names) Heavies have to stand still to shoot a forge gun. And snipers too. Ever get out of your tank much?
Not true, I can move around with my forge gun. Point was that the snipers NEVER move. I could sit the tank behindthem for 2 minutes and they wouldnt move, so naturally I destroyed them. |

They gave been epic gun battles with tanks and drool ships.
So far today have only seen one dropship (Myron) that was brought down with one swarm. |

They were whining then, they are gloating now at their oh so great skills they don't have. Sorry, but if I have to use teamwork to do well as a ground troop, then tankers should too.
Even if a tank is using teamwork you can kill it from across the map with swarms and forge guns, out of range of your infantry support. The ONLY defense a tank has against that is shelling the area it came from, using the splash to remove the threat, but they took that away. Even after the AV nerf and before the tank one it was easy to kill tanks, you just had to lure them into ambushes.

Personally I think that players should not be asked to buy a mic to get the best out of a F2P; in a FPS MMO on PS3 we should have had tools to communicate in ways that are intuitive, quick and appropriate to the limitation of the standard controls we have.
You do realize these people will never make it in corps without a mic and will be perpetually curb stomped until their ragequit or spend 10$ on a bluetooth mic. |

if you are getting killed from across the map by a forge gun then either a) you were really weak already and he got a lucky hit, b) you are doing something wrong (no offense). i am mainly a forge user, only thing im specd for. Hitting a tank across a map with a forge is a total crap shoot. Cant zoom in at all, plus screen shakes ridiculously (should be a skill to decrease this a little), so even if you are 'aiming' at the tank there is no guarentee you are going to hit it. I have hit tanks at a good distance, but usually its about a 1 in 3 hit ratio. Then add in if the tank is moving and it becomes impossible. Def do agree with you about it being easy to take out tanks before the buff/nerf, just needed teamwork (lol that teamwork word again). Me and a 2 corp mates took out a surya, sagaris, and unlucky sica, all within a few seconds of each other. Bated them in to our 2 standard tanks, with me on the other side of the road with my forge. The way they should have updated tanks imo is to have just nerfed the tanks, then see what they get from that. The splash damage removed from the railgun i still dont understand, made it slower and took away splash damage.
The sniping forgegun is usually on more open maps like the one with the 5 control points. Its also pretty hard to tell where the forgegunner is much of the time. I agree with the rest though, ambushing tanks was fun because it was challenging. The overnerf on the railgun reminds me of the overnerf on the HMG. :( Less explosions = less fun .

Same thing with the tank. I've processed a ton of assualt dropsuits who run at the tank firing an assault riffle, saying "Here I am!!!!!!" Back the tank up, drop a rail at their feet. Then they come here and complain. |
