So I fielded a CRU fit Myron for my first time out post-nerf. I didn't have much trouble at first, I dodged a few swarms, took a few light hits, and the randoms that spawned in on my turrets raked in about a half dozen kills.
Then almost the entire enemy team fielded swarms. I had nowhere to dodge to, nowhere to hide, and lost two dropships in pretty short order. Not sure yet if it was just that match or if the vehicle nerf/AV buff is making people much more willing to grab their launchers. |

We need a way to call for 'vehicle pickup'. Like the dropoff, but in reverse. "Hey, call in the carrier to pick up my dropship and haul it back so I don't lose it when it rains rockets!" ;) |

What if during skirmish your deployment had an area for returning vehicles? You drop it off safe, you keep it.
Dropships really suffer from the enemy team changing things up to swarmers all round. |

I killed 3 militia dropships with anmilitia swarm in one round. Now, I used most of my ammo and had a nanohive, but I still did it. It was great. But my militia swarm barely scratched the Gunnlogi, so it seemed pretty decent to me.
I will have to fire up my AV guy tomorrow and try to get some kills there. |

I was afraid that the HAV nerf/AV buff would screw over the already screwed over dropships. I agree, my Myron does not stand much of a chance right now.

they called hav in this game just take them out why have them if a 2 day old guy can kill it my tank fit isnt cheap but its pointless now if i call them out ill just loss it.. 2+ mill gone they went from tanks being op to av being op its not right and it needs to be fixed but i dont see them doing anything. |

I think this build is pretty well done with tweaking. The AV is OP now in comparison to vehicles. I think all they had to do to balance was slow down the main turret of tanks, take away some splash damage of the railgun, and take away some HP from the marauders. |

I believe everyone is going swarm crazy just to relieve all the bottled up frustration against vehicles, even if they haven't been particularly harassed by dropships you get to take the brunt of it.
It will take quite a bit of getting owned by infantry to convince them not to switch out, and I suspect quite a few will gladly take the risk for the reward of getting revenge.
I'm guessing it will be a few days before that dies down. |

if they looked at the av vs tanks after the 1 mill sp giveaway tanks were dieing the last fit wasnt that bad. needed a little changeing this one is trash.. basicly tanks dropships and lav's and death traps.. ccp what was you thinkin... av guys stoped crying after they got there proto's the issue has always been that everyone thinks they can pull out a noob av and insta kill a tank ITS A TANK they shouldnt be insta killed.. right now as it stands tanks are a death trap .. just wish i hadnt payed for all that aur bac to eve till they fix this game. |

I had a proto forge gun and it still did jack to marauders. The only way to kill marauders was if the driver did something stupid or had a kittenfit. This change is probably a little overboard but something had to be done. |

that brings new meaning to Ragequit but ya I agree with the turret n spash nerfs AV needs a small tweek maybe -5% and see how that works? we also lost like 30% damage resistance |

the game its self is great just theres no point in the risk of the isk/aur on the tanks lav's and so on. they killed them just take them out of the game whats there point if they cant even hold there own vs a noob fit dropsuit. cant wait for the omg ccp stb is op there ar/smg and so on we cant kill them fix plz then they will kill them to maybe i should just use a pistal |

can i just say... you should've seen this coming, tanks were obviously being used to camp and grief in ways only limited by the imagination of the driver. If you contributed to this nerf by behaving in this manner, then you forfeited your right to complain, now that the boot is on the other foot....imho.
Vehicles WILL get a HP buff now, drop ships already confirmed.
To paraphrase the carp logic that was being throw around on these forums only 2 days and more ago:
"Tanks are not OP, they cost more then infantry fits, so infantry should not be able to take them out solo."
Well, me and some mates haven't been taking tanks out solo, we set me in a heavy suit up as bait... with a forge gun, and lure the arrogant drivers to their doom.
The only difference is that now... tanks actually die to infantry, and not just other tanks.
TL:DR? the cost of the fitting means nothing in terms of survivability. Survival is about knowing your limits.
Tanks now need infantry, which is as it should be, as opposed to tanks free roaming where they please with next to no threat of going below 50% shields (vs infantry).

Dropships should have a way to avoid heavy oombat, such as flares. The door gunners are for close air support when dropping suits, not for playing gunship where you have to stand and take direct fire. Flares would let us evade smart missiles on our way to someplace else. Constant movement should make forgegun shots less of an issue, though that won't work so well if they are in front or behind you.
Right now if you fly hight enough to be seen by any significant portion of the map you will find several sets of swarms headed your way. |

I hope dropships will also have a way to gain WP witouth needing assists (WP for spawning/ferrying people). It's stupid that dropships don't get points for doing theyr work. |

Instead of soloing with a tank or drop-ship how about team work? Also more people using swarms and forge-guns = more easy targets for me.
Al-tough I do agree that drop-ships could use a slight boost, maybe not in the offensive front but in the defensive. |

A new player in a free suit and a free LAV can kill someone in dropsuit that costs as much as a tank just by running into them.

Exactly, people keep yelling at dropship pilots, "It's not a gunship, stop treating it like one!!!!" They fail to realize kill assists are the ONLY way to get SP as a pilot. Give me points for pick ups, drop offs, ferry time, and spawns and you'll see me use the drop ship like it's designed to be used.
Offensively I think they're fine, but they've needed a defensive or SP bump of some kind for quite a while. |

As a AV heavy I'm not so sure the nerf to resistance mods was called for. Giving me back full power forge gun helped the balance alot. With the nerf to mods you nerfed lavs and dropships, which was not called for. |

i dont no guys i think what they did was way overbored but maybe they will come up with something better i think just the av power boost that they did would have been about right without hitting the tanks so hard that they cant be used...
and everyone that is saying TEAM WORK to keep a tank, yes but it should take team work to kill one to i have soloed tanks without even trying now.. it should take a group working together to do this.. i no not everyone has guys to run with but still get on team chat and work together...
now if i had to come up with a fix for tanks leave at the speed they are make the modes up to 20% not the 25% they was taking them to 15% is over kill or leave it as is and drop there price by 40% and put the av at what it is, cut the range on forge guns by 10% and and noob swarms should be able to one shot anything..... if tanks stay the same cut the damage of av by 25 %%... theres alot that could be done but what was done was wrong....
dropships- i dont really no where to start here i think there good but swarms shouldnt be able to hit them everytime and landing shouldnt make it take damage..
lav = i like them as is but will say not alot of time in them |

@ rage my guess is active hardeners will provide a big resist buff to vehicles when activated that way if ppl want high resists like they had before they would have to use an active hardener for either shield or armor
which would be balanced, it would take some skill to know when the appropriate time to use it is and also keepin an eye on when its gonna run out maybe thats why passive resist mods got hit so hard |
