This forum is like any other forum ive seen and i havent been on alot of mmorg forums. For this to be a beta they are treating it like its a game already. Really what could be so time consuming that you wont check up on ur baby and the babysitter ....I mean i see alot posts by players but not really responses and conversations from the ppl that count. Our words are all speculation. Sure its nice to see some names from matches but what about the Devs and the GMs kickin it with us.
JMO dont beat me up here i know u guys that have been around take it real personal when you hear from the "OUTSIDE WORLD". I never heard of EVE till i saw Dust. Think about it, if u want tap a new market of ppl, open ur doors for real !! We do have an opinion. Why try and supress what you dont agree with. Wont make your market share grow.
Im just sayin i see alot of fans... but a quarter has Heads and Tails. Fans tend to forget that ! So for the eve fanatics hear the otherside out, we will tell these guys how to keep us interested you dont have to agree. This is not about you...its about market share and longevity.

Join the IRC chat or look at the giant blue DEV and red GM flags on the sides of posts.
Just because the devs are not posting in every thread doesn't mean they're not reading the ones worth reading. |

I've created and posted in several threads with both feedback and bug reporting. All I have posted in have not gotten a single GM or dev response so I guess those weren't worth reading. |

Did you not read what he said? I'll repeat it for you. JUST BECAUSE YOUR THREADS DON'T HAVE DEV OR GM COMMENTS IN THEM DOES NOT MEAN THEY AREN'T READING THEM.

What proof is there that they are being read? I am sorry I do not have as much faith as Kaif and Pokey do. I'd have a little more faith if dev and GM responses weren't so few and far between. |

Because they've said in several threads several times that they're reading and taking feedback. Also I've spoken with Devs and GMs in the IRC chat about several threads and they have indeed been reading into them.
Also if you've got a bug, the best thing to do is file a bug report first, as well as make a forum post. |

How much time do you think it takes to write code?
If you were to make sure you read all of the contents of every single thread and responded to them, how much time do you think it would take out of your day? Then put in 8 hours of coding on top of that?
Programmers DO sleep, despite the fact that our blood is made primarily of caffeine. We also have these things called "personal lives" despite the fact that they're often so unexciting they hardly qualify as such.
The amount of people who seem to think writing code is as simple as mashing your fingers on the keyboard or waving a magic wand around is astounding. Do you think we all went to Hogwarts to learn to code or something? :\
I say "we" because this seems to be a constant misconception of all developers in general. |

Us EVE Players do appreciate you console gamers and we hope Dust is successful so we can bomb the crap out of you with Arial Bombardments!
I do think we need to be more understanding of new players. Even though DUST is a console game, its skill tree and equipment are EVE all the way. So we are very familiar with it in a way you are not. EVE players need to be more patient with those new to our way of doing things.
#1 thing you learn about skill tree's after a while is specialize your character. Dont try to go down every tree. Pick and specialty and max it. You do other specialties later. i.e. dont train heavy suits on your logistics character. And don't forget all the little support skills that go with a class. those little 3% and 5% add up. |

What do you want? A blue tag on every thread?
"Yes, we have read this and it has been discussed in the office!"
If, hypothetically, that were to happen, would anyone actually be happy with it? Or would we quickly start to see people posting "CCP is giving a canned, copy and paste response to EVERY THREAD! They didn't write a 500+ word response to my thread!"
(This is a trick question, actually. The above has literally happened on the EVE Online forums MULTIPLE TIMES. CCP responds too little, everyone is angry. CCP responds too much, everyone is still angry. because customers)
What about the threads that are just absolutely awful? Should the devs go out of their way to respond to them?
"FEEDBACK: Make the assault rifle one hit kill, remove all vehicles, other weapons, and all dropsuits other than the scout dropsuit" CCP InsertNameHere: "Thank you for your feedback, we loved reading your thread and will definitely discuss the prospect of pissing off 95% of our players over lunch!"
"FEEDBACK: Unreal engine sucks! Instead of accepting it and moving on I recommend/demand that CCP CHANGE TO (Insert engine here)! I am clueless and do not even have a layman's understanding of game development, but that is not relevant!" CCP InsertNameHere: "While our team originally chose UE3 because it was cheap and easy to work with, we understand your concerns. I will discuss with the project lead the prospect of throwing away all of our current code, budgeting to license a new engine, and readying the team to dump thousands of man-hours of work to port DUST to it!"
"BUG: I didn't read the known issues section of the patch notes but (insert bug from known issues section of the patch notes)" CCP InsertNameHere: "Thank you for posting the 23rd thread on this bug, I walked down the office to the to the conference room and tried to tell them about it but it seems they have wired a car battery to the door knob. I printed out your post and slipped it under the door though!"
There are many, many more people posting threads on the forums than there are devs to read them. The ones who do read them really, REALLY do go out of their way to read every thread they can and forward the interesting ones to the relevant people in the team. But they just can't reply to every thread, or even most of the threads. |

"Wah! Wah! Baby pharoh, wants milk! Wah! Wah!" - TFS
No, but seriously they have been more active then in previous builds. I still would like them to try harder, but it's like perpetually beating a ragged dead horse, and still it won't drink from the waters of life. Frustrating? Yes, to say the least if you ask me. Point is though that it could be a lot more desolete then it is here, but they are putting more thought and trying to atleast communicate with the majority of us outside of the IRC. With youtube videos, blogs, and development blogs at that. Could always be worse. |

I read a lot of the threads but don't always reply. Our community team does a great job of sharing most of the complaints / bugs / feature requests / ideas with the entire team. So while you might not see a blue tag on every thread, we are definitely listening. |

^^^ Wow this is a sign ^^^
On topic to the OP, This must be your first forum experience with video games because I have used numerous and never seen has much dev participation. There have been a couple triple-a titles I have seen all the way through beta to dlc only use one or two community managers who maybe just maybe post once a week. |

I apologize, I assumed that you must not have been on many forums because you said "i havent been on alot of mmorg forums" and for not being clear enough I did mean beta forums for video games. I was actually referring to the Starhawk, Resistance 3 and tom clancy ghost recon future soldier betas I was in and compared to the devs in here they were nonexistent. |
