Last I fought the Caldari was in the first few months of the faction war. They were notorious for turning tail then, I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens when their boots hit the ground!

Show me where they violated Federation rules! There were no rules regarding this, and anything not outlined by the rules of the Federation are left to the individual states and people. There was NOTHING governing that we were not allowed to colonize our own worlds.

Have you read what the other races say about their own plight? Have you read the stories of the Intaki and their liberation movement? (Seriously there is a whole movement called the Intaki Liberation Front iirc) The Intaki deserve their independence from Gallentean oppression and control as much as we do. Let me just say that though we may be at war (again) I respect you and your government's reasons for starting it.

All those years ago when we were technically a part of the federation and shared home planets in the same solar system, we crossed a line by refusing to pay taxes on deep space colonies that might have been accidentally left off the agenda for the monthly senate hearings. I think all of us Caldari can agree that getting caught perpetrating tax evasion is a serious taboo. Why, our accountants would hang their own grandmothers if they failed to declare a gift on their yearly income tax, so we shouldn't expect special treatment.

Our corporate "government" broke a law, and what's more had the gall to demand a little independence, and by golly you took action. While some of the whiny college professor types might say blockading our home planet and bombing the absolute **** out of it with nukes may have been a disproportionate response, it got RESULTS!

By forcing us to evacuate massive portions of our civilian population from our own home planet while our military sacrificed itself in a series of desperate suicide missions in order to prevent our genocide, you made an example out of us. People will think twice before ever failing to report assets to the Federation Revenue Service!

I seriously can not think of a more bureaucratic reason to start a war, it almost brings a tear to my eye.

Nothing in the chronicles specifily says that gallente killed caldari civilians, but it is repeatedly stated that both military and non military caldari killed gallente civilians

It specifically states the Gallente bombarded the Caldari homeworld. How in the world is that not killing innocent people? You can't be that precise from space, I don't care what technology the Gallente supposedly have.

Then, when the people of Caldari Prime tired of your unjust blockade, they reacted by bombing one of your cities in an effort to get you to stop blockading their homeworld. If you would read your history a little more closely you would have noted that it was an extremist terrorist organization that destroyed the city. The anti-Caldari faction of the Federation government then used this as political leverage to sway public opinion and instigate the war. It was the corruption of the Federation that lead to the war and all the turmoil that followed.
