Shortly after jump gate technology was jointly discovered by the Gallente and the Caldari a little over five hundred years before the Federation formed, the Caldari corporations had started their own interstellar surveying and colonization, separate from that conducted by the Gallente. It was these colonies, kept as a secret from the Gallenteans, that became the source of friction between the Gallenteans and the Caldari, culminating in the latterGÇÖs defection from the Federation and an ensuing war between the two races.

It all started when a Gallente exploration ship happened upon one of the hidden Caldari colonies. When the Federation Senate learned of this they demanded a full-scale investigation into the matter and that all hidden Caldari colonies should immediately been put under Federation authority. This was too much for the Caldari Corporations, which were already grumbling over increasing Federation interference into their affairs. For the Caldari it was a simple question of losing their autonomy forever by caving in or making a stand right then and there. They decided to make a stand.

Your people seek to oppress us and force us back into a union we no longer wish to be a part. These colonies were our property and your Gallentean government sought to rip them from our hands. We said no and you effectively declared war on us by blockading our homeworld. Shame on you and all other Gallente. See this fight for what it is!

We did nothing of the sort. You found out about our colonies and IMMEDIATELY demanded their surrender to Federation control out of fear. Fear of no longer being in power, fear of no longer being in control. Your fear betrayed your people. The gut reaction of utter terror that our people had built an empire without your knowledge.

We abided by the terms of the Federation until you sought to decimate what we had built ourselves. The Gallente are only interested in cultural assimilation. We will fought to maintain our culture, and traditions... I only hope our Intaki and Mannar brothers will do the same someday and finally put the Gallente where they belong!

Our leaders are trying to save us from your war of oppression. We must have firm leadership (read: Cincinnatus of Rome) in order to defeat your attempt to force us to live life according to your terms.

What makes you think the Gallente way of life is the way all people want to live? What makes you so sure that your way is the best way? We want to live this way, and yet you persist in forcing us to live life your way. No more!

Sorry friend your counter argument doesn't make any sense.

I'm saying that we, as the Caldari people, don't need your 'democratic society', and we don't think it's the best form of government. We believe in meritocracy, people earning things because of their abilities:

Show me where they violated Federation rules! There were no rules regarding this, and anything not outlined by the rules of the Federation are left to the individual states and people. There was NOTHING governing that we were not allowed to colonize our own worlds.

Have you read what the other races say about their own plight? Have you read the stories of the Intaki and their liberation movement? (Seriously there is a whole movement called the Intaki Liberation Front iirc) The Intaki deserve their independence from Gallentean oppression and control as much as we do. Your people seek to dominate and control through subtle means, to seduce us with your pleasures and lead us astray such that we forget who we are and where we come from. That we will all become egalitarian Gallenteans like you.

There is NO evidence we ever intended to take you over! You assume that based on nothing. Nothing at all. There were no conspiracies, there is no evidence, there is nothing to prove that the Caldari ever had any intention of betraying the trust of the Federation.

Your Federation found out about our colonies and freaked out and ordered us to hand them over. We simply said no. THAT is what happened.

There were no rules stating we had to report everything we did. We had a right to privacy.

To police our own colonies. If we used Federation forces then it wouldn't have been a secret would it? Furthermore, that is a baseless assumption. There was never any intent to rebel against the Federation, and history (read:lore) will prove me right. See for yourself in the Chronicles.

I'm speaking out against the evil Gallente... in response to what the thread was about it. Ya?

Many people seem to think the Gallente are freedom fighters. I'm attempting to show them that they mirror the notion of American imperialism.

I really think each side has a thought of who was right and who was wrong.

People who support the federation thinks the Caldari started the war by separating from us.
There really is no need to overreact as if this really happened in real life.

It specifically states the Gallente bombarded the Caldari homeworld. How in the world is that not killing innocent people? You can't be that precise from space, I don't care what technology the Gallente supposedly have.

Even if the strikes were precisely targeted, and judging by the videos released by CCP they were not, the ground invasion had to have suffered civilian casualties. You took our home from us and we fought back. Then, we're branded murderers and traitors for defending our homeworld.

You didn't even give us a chance to hunt down the terrorists who bombed your city on OUR homeworld.

Your information is incorrect. The Caldari Directorate and the State's Mega Corporations had no part in the destruction of Nouvelle Rouvenor. If you would read your history a little more closely you would have noted that it was an extremist terrorist organization that destroyed the city. The anti-Caldari faction of the Federation government then used this as political leverage to sway public opinion and instigate the war. It was the corruption of the Federation that lead to the war and all the turmoil that followed.
