Incase you hadn't noticed there are now 1200 AUR drop suits on the market. As far as I can tell thats for 1 drop suit, when you die its gone. I don't think its a bug because all the other drop ship categories have one.
I certainly won't be paying 4 euros for 1 drop suit when I can get the same suit for 3 aur at a slightly different colour.
Anyone tempted?
(FYI: its just like all the other vanity variants except its at a really high "prestige" price).
EDIT: I was misinformed. The suits are infact BPOs and perma-items. The question "Would you be tempted?" is still valid though. |

they look like little nods to the mag players. the assault is black and named "raven", the logistics is orange and named "sever" and the scout is green and named "valor"
those were the 3 mag factions and their colors. (though some may argue that raven was blue. the ui was purple/blue/gunmetal but the uniforms were black)
EDIT: and yes, i bought a raven suit. to much grey, not enough black <.< but it's BPO so i might use it. |

I don't think they are BPOs.
I'll buy one when I get my character wipe. If they are BPOs then thats actually just about right. If not, they are more than abit pricey. Smoking jacket and monocle better damn be included as Just Bad says

If they are, disregard the stealth whine thread .
I hope so, I came this close to filling out an drunken epic bug report about it in which I spend two paragraphs questions the parentage of every member of the development team.

I bought the SVER and Raven ones, pretty badass.
Raven: The cloth is all white but all the armor plates and helmet are black, with white LED lighting around the sides of the faceplate.
SVER: The cloth is brown on the legs with a slightly lighter brown on the torso. The piping around the armor and down the sides of the legs is a bright orange. The strapping over shoulder and across the chest is white. The mask is brown with a glowing orange eye. Honestly it looks a little goofy, I think the orange is a little bright for my taste, but some people may like it.
The suits are BPOs so they're unlimited and have the same stats as the Type-I variants. Oh also the Sever suit gets a x10 damage multiplier and built in MP3 player that plays Apocalyptica when you get a kill streak (Kidding of course) |

THANK YOU CCP! Up until this point the barrier of entry for logistic were just too darn high, but this gives logistics players a way to jump in early through a little pocket change. As long as the keep it to lower level models I think this is an awesome idea! |

If ccp stopped acting stupid and made that 4$ for an unlockable color choice, like lol. Then I'd buy a bunch honestly. I just like supporting the company and throwing 10 a month at them is like the cost of an mmos buy I pay after playing for a month. So I like having the freedom to.not pay of I think an expansion is bad or bad balance choices.
Why have the color per suit, that's stupid. You buy s color once you get it forever. And if you buy a new higher level dropsuit the custom colors you bought can be used on those too.
One buy forever color. Treat it like a blueprint for your MQ's paint machine. You need the blue print for your equipment to have the pattern you want. |

Okay. So it's a nod off to MAG players without ruining the game. Not a bad idea, or thought. I am confussed though -- are they BPO (Blueprint Originals) or are they not? Some are saying they are, and I have no reason to doubt, Iron Wolf Saber, on this issue; and other's are not.
Also anyone feel sad for the heavy users suddenly? No, specialty MAG tribute item? Also if they are BPO's I feel while this is not a bad way of doing such I just hope that CCP will not get too trigger happy with BPO's upon release. They need to make sure BPO's are balanced and never exceed standard gear though. Especially at the moment, or early on in Dust514's life upon release. It would be a dissaster.
On a side note -- where are our [beta] event dropsuits? Just curious. |

Then I shall give you the eve answer many have received its not pay to win as soon as the market is live you can buy bpo's with isk on the market some one will sale them.

No, I have my aprehensians to which I stated in my postings. I do feel that BPO's should be regulated by CCP, but that also CCP should not be "trigger happy" with the BPO's. At the moment I am just trying to confirm if they are BPO's or not. If you are asking how I feel about AUR purchasable BPO's in very small quanities such as this; I have to state that I am weary. I feel if this is the extent of AUR BPO's at the moment or for a lengthy period of time say a year or so I will not be so worried. They are accessible to anyone whom with AUR, or connections and extra ISK to spare in trades, or sales. However as I stated I am weary of this. I feel this should not be a direction for either Dust514, or CCP as it sends mixed signals. While granted this is free to play game, and I understand a business needs money for the longevity of Dust514 I feel this would be a bad road to take. It's a fine line. Flooding the AUR market with BPO's would tell people this is a pay to win game. Which no one here wants.
As I have stated in the past with topics of BPO's though -- they need to be regulated, and centered around events, and tournaments. Not only that though, but regulated to only militia and standard tech levels. That would be the safest way to regulate and balance BPO's while promoting the player driven market.
I hope this helps to explain my thoughts better, Gangsta Nachos. |

Provided it is kept to the lowest tiers this is very good. I'll be buying some kind of BPO. I'd imagine all the special beta suits and the suit from the merc pack will be available for a similar price. Vanity stuff shouldn't run out. It should also be restricted to the affordable end of the market. Both in ISK, and -ú-ú-ú. Cheap and cheerful. But effective none the less. I would hate to see typeII BPO's.
Is there any kind of industry in EvE currently like respray shops? I think a clan/corp/alliance colour set would be a very cool addition. Make it only work on militia suits. It's just for show / practise / esport.
I'm looking forward to playing MAG2 :D |

Ha-ha. Sorry, but I had to laugh aloud at what you said at the bottom -- mad me laugh in a good way. I think in some ways for a lot of people this is the only oppurtunity at a MAG sequel, if only in some ways an off-shoot spiritual successor. Funny enough though when you think about it Warhawk was rustic and heavily based on Earth, and the confines of a more life based fiction "what-if" and Starhawk like Dus514 both ended up being highly sci-fi influenced fiction. Not a bad thing, but funny.
I'm not saying this is a MAG sequel (it's not), but I find it nice to see CCP giving a nod to those of us whom played MAG. Sort of how they gave keyboard and mouse support to the PC players. Certainly not the same things, but still a point.
Edit:
I also forgot to mention that yes, they are BPO's. I caved, and bought two of them. I bough a "Raven" assault outfit because, that was my true PMC in MAG and I bought the "Valor" scout suit because, I enjoyed playing for them more then I ever did for Sver. Also wearing a trash bag did not help my wanting to play that god awful PMC. Awful in that the people primarily in Sver were douche' bags. Deny it all you want, but considering I knew many of the clans steming from that PMC I have to say it like I saw it. These are BPO's though. |

im going to back away from all the raging on either side and just make a quick statement....
I applaud CCP for their efforts, enjoy their game, and feel like they have already given me enough satisfaction in Dust to earn a buck or two. I will make aurum purchases anyway, but that's just me. My corp is a SVER carry over, so I'll probs buy a sever suit just for ***** and gigs out of respect for my corp, since their a great group of guys and i never did play MAG.
What's 5 bucks here and there? Seriously. Who gets mad at that? |
