Okay. So it's a nod off to MAG players without ruining the game. Not a bad idea, or thought. I am confussed though -- are they BPO (Blueprint Originals) or are they not? Some are saying they are, and I have no reason to doubt, Iron Wolf Saber, on this issue; and other's are not.
Also anyone feel sad for the heavy users suddenly? No, specialty MAG tribute item? Also if they are BPO's I feel while this is not a bad way of doing such I just hope that CCP will not get too trigger happy with BPO's upon release. They need to make sure BPO's are balanced and never exceed standard gear though. Especially at the moment, or early on in Dust514's life upon release. It would be a dissaster.
On a side note -- where are our [beta] event dropsuits? Just curious. |

On a side note -- where are our [beta] event dropsuits? Just curious. BPO's are balance anyone can have them right ? Then you get the complaint that they are AUR items and its pay to win. Then I shall give you the eve answer many have received its not pay to win as soon as the market is live you can buy bpo's with isk on the market some one will sale them. Adapt or die the more bpo's the more AUR The more exchanges for isk on the market
No, I have my aprehensians to which I stated in my postings. I do feel that BPO's should be regulated by CCP, but that also CCP should not be "trigger happy" with the BPO's. At the moment I am just trying to confirm if they are BPO's or not. If you are asking how I feel about AUR purchasable BPO's in very small quanities such as this; I have to state that I am weary. I feel if this is the extent of AUR BPO's at the moment or for a lengthy period of time say a year or so I will not be so worried. They are accessible to anyone whom with AUR, or connections and extra ISK to spare in trades, or sales. However as I stated I am weary of this. I feel this should not be a direction for either Dust514, or CCP as it sends mixed signals. While granted this is free to play game, and I understand a business needs money for the longevity of Dust514 I feel this would be a bad road to take. It's a fine line. Flooding the AUR market with BPO's would tell people this is a pay to win game. Which no one here wants.
As I have stated in the past with topics of BPO's though -- they need to be regulated, and centered around events, and tournaments. Not only that though, but regulated to only militia and standard tech levels. That would be the safest way to regulate and balance BPO's while promoting the player driven market.
I hope this helps to explain my thoughts better, Gangsta Nachos. |

Tony Calif wrote:Provided it is kept to the lowest tiers this is very good. I'll be buying some kind of BPO. I'd imagine all the special beta suits and the suit from the merc pack will be available for a similar price. Vanity stuff shouldn't run out. It should also be restricted to the affordable end of the market. Both in ISK, and -ú-ú-ú. Cheap and cheerful. But effective none the less. I would hate to see typeII BPO's.
Is there any kind of industry in EvE currently like respray shops? I think a clan/corp/alliance colour set would be a very cool addition. Make it only work on militia suits. It's just for show / practise / esport.
I'm looking forward to playing MAG2 :D
Ha-ha. Sorry, but I had to laugh aloud at what you said at the bottom -- mad me laugh in a good way. I think in some ways for a lot of people this is the only oppurtunity at a MAG sequel, if only in some ways an off-shoot spiritual successor. Funny enough though when you think about it Warhawk was rustic and heavily based on Earth, and the confines of a more life based fiction "what-if" and Starhawk like Dus514 both ended up being highly sci-fi influenced fiction. Not a bad thing, but funny.
I'm not saying this is a MAG sequel (it's not), but I find it nice to see CCP giving a nod to those of us whom played MAG. Sort of how they gave keyboard and mouse support to the PC players. Certainly not the same things, but still a point.
Edit:
I also forgot to mention that yes, they are BPO's. I caved, and bought two of them. I bough a "Raven" assault outfit because, that was my true PMC in MAG and I bought the "Valor" scout suit because, I enjoyed playing for them more then I ever did for Sver. Also wearing a trash bag did not help my wanting to play that god awful PMC. Awful in that the people primarily in Sver were douche' bags. Deny it all you want, but considering I knew many of the clans steming from that PMC I have to say it like I saw it. These are BPO's though. |

Well the only advantage to the BPO's in question at the moment is that they are BPO's, but they are not over powered, or broken. They just happen to be BPO's, but the trade off is you ended up paying for them with real legal government certified tender. If you chose to do so then I suppose that is on "us", or those whom do. This however is not the whole picture. Which a few of has have brought up and pointed out -- myself included. |
