WTF am I reading? Did Sony run this copy past anyone at CCP? I can't wait until the DUST 514 Beta is closed to everyone except Plus members, and they can send mail to people on Tranquility! |

I'm a plus member - it just means PS+ get access to the beta starting Aug 21.... But the 50% off on the Merc Pack.... /angryface
looks like PS+ also get 2 weeks instead of the usual 1 weekend pass. |

Pretty sure this is you not understanding language that is commonly used these days in promotions. There's a reason the all-access passes are called "all-access." They're not going to take away your access for the weekend, they're just letting in a specific set of people. |

And that's excessively nit-picky. Ok, it's not the "main" server, but additional keys are being given exclusively to PS+ members. |

I'm pretty sure this is you being unable to read the subtle sarcasm woven into my comment.
I understand the language just fine. Its just wrong. Just because its PR doesn't mean you can say whatever you like. Any Plus member who purchases the Merc Pack on the grounds that they have 'exclusive' access to the title has legal grounds to demand a refund from Sony when that turns out not to be the case, in my country at least, under consumer law. Its not ok to false advertise because its a PR piece.

Lol they just want PS3 players to come play..... And in a press release noone that its aimed at cares about the minute details
The bit i think is interesting though,,, is that twice it mentions the full game releasing later this fall..... hadnt we all reluctantly given up on that dream??
I think everyones too quick to criticise Sony..... They know better than anyone how to sell this game to their users, so CCP would be wise to let them take the lead on this if they so wish.... Remember this is console gaming, so updates arent as easy and builds need to be solid before release. Just thank your lucky stars its not Microsoft, who seemingly wont even let developers update their games for serious flaws (see FEZ),,, Sony would never do this.
As a purely Playstation gamer (anyone who plays dust doesnt need to be promoted at,, since you all have keys) the ONLY way to access the beta for FREE is through PS+,,, therefore it is exclusive.
Ever get the feeling this forum is like a 24hour news channel??? Never enough news to broadcast so we all get lost in speculation and unnecessary criticism |

Considering they're advertising the game to PS+ and not hiding it in a little shelf in the PS Store anymore, this beta update might be more acceptable/ready to play.
To the OP, it simply means PS+ players get free access to the beta. Everyone else either has to get an invitation from EVE players who received All Access keys. obtain Weekend Keys, or purchase the pack on the store. PS+ needs to attract players somehow. No use paying for a subscription service if you reap no benefits from it. |

You should realize that I said "additional keys," as in a way to gain access if you don't already have it. The merc pack still exists, but additional ways to join the beta are coming exclusively to PS+. Happy now?

Well,,, if thats the case i'd more question CCP on why the copy wasnt right...... PSN's bigger than one game, the press releases have deadlines and developers have to tell them what they want included....... and as was said earlier.... this implies the new build is significant, since they wouldnt start proper PSN promotions, so it's blatantly being pushed by CCP to get more native Playstation users involved..... It's not Sony's job to chase the developers,,, your tone implies you think Sony are benefitting from this promotion, rather than CCP wanting this to gauge how much interest there really is??? I'm sure they both want it,,,, but there's no way this was rushed out without CCP being all over it,,,, its a MAJOR step for this game being included in PS+
Personally I think its fine for getting people interested,,,, who the F cares which server we'll be chatting on, or whether there's another way to get the game free if you pay for a different game on different platform??? I really believe all the Eve players will want to voice chat with Dust players who dont understand the Universe anyway lol |

Not much to see here, just Plus members getting their usual cheap as dirt discounts. Basically, they are getting into the beta for free, but if they want the consumable items from the Merc Pack, they only have to pay $9.99 instead of what most of us payed: $19.99. |

Nothing in that article is a lie... I don't understand how you don't see this. They used the same wording when IGN members got to play their weekend.
ALL-ACCESS PASS MEANS ALL ACCESS TO ALL BETA EVENTS., if you have one you are fine.
Basically, if you read "exclusive access" to mean that not everyone has it...that is true. It's not *just* PS+, but it's not everybody either. And they can "Help test the first live direct connection to the extremely popular EVE Online MMO as players on the main server in DUST 514 and EVE Online" I mean, what we're doing is certainly testing for that...
The thing about september 4th is probably an offer for playstation plus members to try and enter the beta for an all access pass or maybe they get to play the next few weekends, who knows. Either way, if you have an all access pass...no need to worry.
Nothing in the article is a lie, stop trying to make it out to be one.

EXCLUSIVE ACCESS
IT IS EXCLUSIVE ACCESS...... you get it free ahead of all other PS3 users (apart for those who have either paid for it,,, or paid for eve).... The word 'exclusive' doesnt mean noone else has access to it,,,, the term here refers to PS3 users as a whole and highlighting the benefits of having PS+... It isn't technically misleading in the context which it is published, and the people that this release is aimed at (ie people who have no idea about the Eve universe, and are serious gamers on their ps3),,,
IN regards to servers,,, The benefit of extra information/knowledge quite regularly casts doubts over promotions in general doesnt it?? Its just the way things work,,, and no ps3 gamer cares what server its on,,, its still marketed under a Beta after all |

This is how psn usually conducts itself for a betA. They sell it as an exclusive thing for a bear complete game. They are good at advertising and making bad things sound good. This, I imagine, is the beginning of the standard beta us consoles have come to know and dred, the game after this point will be mostly done with the exception of the content they specifically want to save for release. So the point of sony"s post is not to be accurate but instead make the beta sound like its worth playing |

Well, it is confirmed that you can send chat's and in-game mail when it goes live on Sisi. So if you can send ISK via in-game mail....
As far as the Duality thing ....

We wanted to make you aware of some changes that are happening to your usual test environment.
To enable us to further test DUST on an EVE-compatible environment, we will be handing over Sisi to our DUST dev team for a while. During the next week(s) Singularity will be using the hardware of Duality, while the hardware of Singularity is being used for DUST configuration work.
For you, the player, nearly nothing will change for now - you connect like always to Singularity and you are using the same old mirror. You might notice, that the server is a bit slower - for example when loading systems. Please reply here, if you notice any other problems.
We will keep you updated on when further changes are being made to the setup of Singularity.

This is not WoW, where you can send money with mail. It is two different mechanisms.
That said, it would be very interesting if we can. It is easy as pie to raise a few hundred million isk on Sisi (especially if you can fly capital ships). We are not supposed to do it, but for testing... |
