sorry for the confusion, ive seen so much QQ bout tanks it kinda just blends together eventually. Even with a bunch of people skilling in tanks, theres still not going to be as much people using them because ewar is going to significantly change the face of ground armor and people are going to go broke if they arent actually dedicated to being a driver. |

Ok tanks are NOT overpowered at all, they are tanks !
The problem is this sh!tty build we've had to put up with for so damn long. The fact that you can have so many vehicles on a tiny map with 12 mercs a side makes every game the same boring ass sh!t. We start trying to actually play an FPS but end up spending 15 mins in fat suits shooting vehicles. oh what fun... NOT... And that is one of the biggest problems with this build, it's a boring no fun glorified free for all to see who can get the most kills. We all hope next build will fix most of the crap in this one, because if it doesn't even less will be playing than are now.
So many keys, so few people. I wonder why. |

np, everyone here deserves respect and i make a point of never trolling unless there are shenanigans present. Even after all that effort, it baffles me that there was an entire thread about me being the biggest troll on the forums...
you dont have to agree with me, but at least afford the other person the respect you want in return, you know?
also, i always strive to make sure the things i profess in my posts are backed up by CCP,otherwise its pure speculation. A lot of people say this and that about game mechanics and this will make the game fail and this is broken......CCP knows what they want to do and they are looking at a much bigger picture than mos tof the people here, just look at one of their vids, like the one in my thread....its really exciting to see i think.

Very tough to drive a tank like me considering I don't drive tanks . Tanks aren't my only prey .. There are also a lot of dropships , installations , and squishys to shoot so I'm never really hurting for cash . And damaging a tank several times is enough to earn money off it . Killing it is profitable too . |

Once again, everyone talks about killing tanks being easy/hard. Is it hard to get kills in a gunnloggi? Fairly. Certainly takes some skill to get a big score. Marauders however... I don't think I've had less than 3 kills before losing mine. Even driving into crowds. If EWAR screws marauders, who the hell would even touch a low level HAV? Tanks are broken because of the gap between Gunloggi and Sagaris.
When's the last time you heard anyone say "we need AV guys! They have a gunnloggi!" Never. Marauders are instant death if they have good aim, 2-4 seconds if not.
The real problem is balancing tanks with tanks. A 1.5 damage mod will always screw that... Pretty obvious really... Problem is people generalise "Tank" to mean surya. |

while pointless, its also plenty fun. my fam has the big tv right now cause of the olympics so thats partly why im so active on the forums right now. once i move back into the frat come the fall term ill be spending a lot more time in-game versus on the forums.
@ICE - i dont think ill be dissapointed at all, but im really hoping im pleasantly surprised. kinda sucks grouping is stuck a 4, but it protects joe sh.it the rag man from fighting a 12 man team of navy seals. |

i feel its necessary to point out that marauders aer supposed to be death machines....theyre not tanks or black ops tanks, but marauders. Black ops tanks will be excellent at whatever theyre meant for, just like every other installation/weapon/suit has something its meant for. |

I appreciate Marauders are supposed to be death machines, but gunloggi's aren't supposed to be bread vans...even Sica/soma should be a bit better (they're alright if you give them a rail). Problem is we have paper militia tanks, unused gunloggi's and super death marauders. Give gunloggi's a 1.25 and I wouldn't mind so much. Tanks need balancing. Internally by CCP in 12vs12 tank war. We can't organise it. |

understand that with the differences at release( the decrease in probability that we will be able to afford this much proto stuff every round due to changes in prices and gains, people not playing as much as we do since we ARE beta testers who already had an interest in this game and asked to play, and typical economic strategy) not everyone will be in full proto gear all the time and lower tier tanks will be used a higher percent of the time instead of everyone having marauders.
in release, when someone calls in a marauder, CCP wants the other team to **** themselves.
also with war points being needed to call in these vehicles, well you get my point... |

If they told everyone that this build was to test vehicles, everyone woulda skilled for that. Making the test pretty pointless.
Webifiers are something to bear in mind, so are war points, but in the current system, there's problems somewhere down the line.
Edit: what if webs are glitchy for some reason, so are left for the 2013 update? Unlikely, but you see what I'm getting at. |

Tanks are not overpowered, they are just efficient, and a teams worst nigtmare when getting redlined. That is the real problem, the fact that home spawns are open to the enemy, and a team cannot even get out of a base.
I don't know where I'm going with this, but I just want to get the point across that tanks are not overpowered.
3 AV guys can take your tank down...... 3 to 4 tanks on the battlefield at 1 time.... 12 people on 1 side... how many people does that leave to secure objectives? Do the math

Is ther a Armor Piercing value for weapons? a simple damage multiplier that could be applied to different strenghts of armor and different weapons, that could prevent smg's from shooting at tanks, and tanks 1 hit killing heavies with splash damage.
to balance the tanks remote explosives must stick to a target, or maybe tracing a tank wold be a good Idea to force it to retreat? but let mechanics take tracers off, you wouldn't have to aim at a tank, and shoot behind obstacles thus making AV guys a survivability a bit higher, I don't think tanks are overpowered but there is no counter so far for them.
If you need 3 guys working together to damage 1 tank there is something wrong with it, tanks should be afraid of AV same as INF is afraid of a tank, thats why tanks always had infantry advancing with them. Tanks ought to be defensive weapons mainly, advancing a tank into a unknown territory should be a certain death, tanks don't need nerfing, AV weapons need to be buffed. Also tanks should be easily killed with use of dropships, and dropships should be feared of AV guys, in that way, you have to advance your whole line, not just drive back and forth killing what you see with a tank. |

As originally mentioned; Home Spawn points have inadequate blockage from enemy vehicle bombardment, so once they push you back there its a frag fest for the enemy and its very hard to make it to a safe point or call in vehicles of your own before dying. Rage quits ensue. *Also maybe allowing Squad Leaders to change spawn points at objectives wouldn't be bad either because I hated being ganked in the back when trying to spawn at a contested objective.*
- Precursor patch should address the fixed spawn point issue
I've got problems tossing my AV grenades. Usually 1 of 3 connect, the others miss because the vehicle drives outside the blast radius or my aim is horrid. - Precursor is adding vehicle homing AV grenades. Nice.
And because I cant use prototype stuff being an Eve Temp player, my Swarms Launchers are a joke to most HAV's. They either hit obstacles because they launch at 45% angles left and right or impact terrain instead of the targetted Vehicle. I've got to lock target then aim straight in the air and hope it doesn't hit an overhang or something.
But for the most part I've had fun playing this weekend. |

But, once lock is achieved, get behind cover, point the swarm launcher at an angle that will let the missiles "curve" around whatever is between you and the vehicle, and THEN fire...
It's really easy, and once you start doing it the correct way, tanks will hate you! |
