Hit Detection is not even a 'known issue' RBS is still a 'skill' And they added black op tanks. This game should be called World of Tanks for PS3. Just sayin' |

Yeah, they're way off the mark with making an FPS. They need to get the movement - Hipfire - ads -damage/health balance just right. It isn't right at the moment. If hit detection is like it was last weekend in the new build, I'll petty much give up. They really need I stop adding things, and perfect what is already here. |

I play FPS
i played dust for the 1st two builds and was hopeful....
now i don't care anymore and most likely won't play this game... along with a lot of people i know.
if you make an MMOFPS and forget about FPS.. your left with MMO... now without FPS the 'MM` won`t be there and you have just an `O`
sooo... congrats CCP on another online game I won`t play.

Ccp also didnt address the unlimited ammo that vehicles have! Also it seems we might be stuck on plateaus again. Playing just a slight variant of the map. BORING! |

The statement on maps was an indication that we'll still be using the same planet, but that the actual "maps" we're presented with depends on what facility we're attacking, and what structures have been placed there. It generates maps based on several factors so that it's different each time if we make it different. Hell, since the testing systems are in null-sec already, I'm curious if I can set up some PI on the test planet. |

Yeah, I can't believe ccp doesn't do everything how I want them to either! Just like that time I got this free car from the factory before they were done building it. They hadn't put the motor in it and it didn't have the wheels on it yet. I was so pissed off when I couldn't drive it home!!!1111!!one
Edit: Forgot to mention that my 3 year old son has more patience than some of the people on here. Makes me feel good about my parenting skills. |

It absolutely seems that their prime focus is on alot more mmo/rpg than it is on fps. Sooooo are they making dust 514 for EvE Online players or console fps'ers is a valid question. |

I love the fact that I specced heavily into infantry assault and my loudouts are useless because of the stupidly effective tanks. I should just re-spec into tanks and I will be #1 Dust player. |

This build was done and being tested internally while be were giving feedback for next build, so the things we pointed out will be in the one after this, I think.
There is a note about fixing auto-aim, maybe that was causing the hit-detection issue, and it's fixed now? I'll keep fingers crossed.
The hit detection may be intended, In EvE relative lateral motion and long range cause a percentage of hits to miss. If they are doing this, we should no about. Doesn't seem as bad if reason for misses is known, I'm not sure a mechanic like this would transfer well from EvE to first person shooter. Notes mention a displayed percentage, could be showing the miss chance, or telling us how well we are aiming. Guess we will have to see.
Looking forward to new maps, even if similar, any variation will be welcome. I'm thinking they may be very different, plateau may be the name of set of textures and design rules instead of a specific map, whole borderlands game is on a similar terrain. If this is case river valley, dunes, forest, ect... can wait till they need testing, plenty of maps possible on current terrain. Whole county of Afghanistan is on a plateau.
If you look at planet we are on it star map, it is a mostly water(more water then earth) temperate world. |

EDIT:
Here we go. Under Miscellaneous:
- Fixed the excessive aim assist <--- We had it excessively??? - Added movement slowdown on weapon impact <--- This could be a valid solution. Just spray someone and they'll slow down enough for you to hit them some more. Am I right to assume that?

Before, CCP tried to make Dust 514 using their Carbon engine which is the same engine used to develop the Avatars in Eve Online when the Incarna Expansion got released back in 2010. But due to time constraints, they had to settle with the Unreal engine.

First beta stage was released around the new year 2012. Right there is more than 8 months of beta play. Alpha play would have also gotten its fair share of FPS mechanic tweaks as well. Additionally, the game is an FPS. If you didnt start designing your game with core FPS gun mechanics in mind... I have some bad news for you. |

Please please please don't write stuff like this again. % Miss should not be in FPS. Just so obviously not intentional it worries me you think it might be. I believe the "displayed %" is to do with things not showing in your fittin screen. I.e. damage mods, shield skills ect. which are currently bugged. Various fixes, but as the Op mentioned, hit detection isn't in the notes. |

For everyone complaining how there were no notes about hit detection, learn the game. The heat detection was bad because the aim assist always snapped behind a running enemy leaving u shooting behind the person which they clearly stated will b fixed. Framerate will also b raised by the time the game comes out which will also help with the fps part of the game. |

I don't think they had much of a choice. People had been waiting for 3 years for this.
Besides, the Carbon engine is still relatively new and I don't think it would've been wise to use that as a core mechanic for something as complex as Eve/Dust. Especially when Carbon has a heavy CPU/graphics card requirement. |

Pure speculation Krucial. We know aim assist is a load of BS, and shouldn't be in the game anyway. However, to blame hit detection all on that seems a bit foolhardy. |
