20mil in SP
Basically filled out the majority of my skills for my assault AR class and support skills
Can run full proto gear in every match since i do have enough isk to lose
Now i really only have 2 options left, either go the anti vehicle route or go the tank route and while i skill for either i wont be much use until level 4 most likely
Ive realised i dont really want to do either because the majority of games i play im stuck with retards who just wont try or even bother having a mic, the ones which do have mics are awful and make ****** feedback noises which make them useless half the time and echo my own voice back to me through ther tv
Then i realise the enemy team are rolling around in 3 tanks, mauraders and my team being the bunch or dumbasses they are cannot even deal with them or even try to form a plan because they have no mics
I REALLY NEED GROUPING
So im with my AR suit simply because my milita AV stuff wont even scratch the paintwork but even my 600+ overall tank it means diddly **** next to all the missile turrets they have and thats no including the camping dropships on the towers which are more annoying, mainly because i cant see them but also the majority of the time the missiles hitting me have no explosion sound or any effects and the only way i know im getting hit is because my shield and armor are getting raped by an invisible force
If i do manage to survive that im constantly running around avoiding tanks while my team is mostly getting spawn raped and i know the match is a certain loss so its down to play for yourself and try not to die routine
So im left with either join the tanks group or try the AV route with me having to deal with the tanks on my own half the time
Now if i could group up with ppl i knew it would be more bareable because we can work to take out tham tank/s
Also tho i realised what a problem it is having camping dropships on towers because every ****** is doing it in all games, sure i cant see them but even if i could its still a problem overall and the current solution atm is to take your own dropship up and kill them unless they fly away and it becomes a dropship chase so you need a gunner and a guy with swarm launcher - grouping would also help in this scenario
So the camping dropship can fire his turrets at you while hes in park mode but i cant spawn on a dropship in park mode? eh it makes no sense to me, its like once you drop out of the pilot seat all the power to the CRU is turned off but yet the guns work. If i cant spawn why should you be able to fire your guns?
This brings me to the next problem, dropship pilots in general cant stay in the air for longer than 10secs without hitting the deck or parking on top of the towers which then turns off the CRU, its happened alot im ther ready to spawn 3secs left and they park it and i cant spawn ther so i have to wait another 10secs and its like wtf
Atm we really dont have a APC of sorts, i would like it if i could have a dropship with an active CRU even if you are in park mode (pilot has to be in pilot seat tho) but you would have no turrets as a consquence so you are purly for dropping ppl off and picking ppl up aka transport ship and for the trade off of no guns/defences the ship would also have a much larger tank so it can effectively do its job wihtout hitting the dec 5 secs after being ordered in
Now onto tanks
As i said im an assault guy with an AR built for mopping up the MI but when ther is 3-4 mauraders in the same game your kinda ****** in general and espc if they all have gunners meaning thers very little MI to shoot at and you cant really stop the tank unless its a milita fit
So really the only defensive i have is RE which need to be planted and try to lure the tank over em and i may do damage but it needs other ppl to help out - cant be refilled
AV nades hit n miss - cant be refilled
The thing i am missing is anti tank mines, put em in the equipment slots like RE are but allow them to be refilled by nanohives/supply depots so they are useful plus add in skills and you can have the diff mines like with all other weapons
Also with all vehicles with turrets add a cargohold, make them buy ammo for each turret and also make each turret have to hold a set amount of ammo ie 10 missiles then after they used them they have a 5sec reload time for example so its not constant missile spam
The map itself is very open and made for mostly vehicle combat with very few areas for MI vs MI unlike the last map and since the 1mil SP giveaway it seemes everyone has whacked it into tanks and seeing the tanks every game with idiot teams gets to you

I might have you mixed up with someone else but you ran with or ran some guys from MAG no ? They not about ? Anyway if ya feel like running with us be cool to have you along we are getting 4-8 peeps in every match all on coms. Cant get a full team cos its such a pain rigging the sides tbh. hehe anyway our lads keep an eye out for you because your a bugger to kill always nice having you as a hostile freindly either way |

Most of em are waiting for grouping
I end up hitting EU server and not bothering with a mic and play my own game espc this weekend
By time grouping comes it will prob be in the next build

Honestly I think anyone who isn't flying a Dropship or driving a Marauder feels the same snake. The game is just not what I'm looking for if it remains "world of tanks and planes". 70k assault suits are worthless. Mostly because we have no support. |

I completely understand man. I came to the conclusion early last weekend that if I didn't attempt to handle the vehicles, no one would.
On the plus side, you can fit a proto swarm launcher and an advanced SMG onto that pimpin proto suit. Just prepare yourself for a KDR drop, hunting tanks isn't easy. Though the satisfaction of blasting the dropship that's trying to squish you, out of the air is ALMOST worth it

English.. I totally agree with you. I mentioned the problem on IRC to CCP Wolfman and he seemed to be pretty clueless about the problem. I asked him to look at the vehicle spamage in games now, and he said "are there too many vehicles"?
There has to be some major changes to tanks or this game is going to be all about tank warfare. Tanks are easy mode for SP and ISK whoring. It's not even the fact that milita tanks are free. The advantages of skilling up for tanks vs. infantry are way to high. you would have to be stupid not to skill up for tanks if things don't change. Once you've got a good tank you can **** games for huge SP / ISK that can be used to skill up whatever the hell you want. |

Just had this with agent smith (yes the KDR chump with less kills overall than I've got suicides) finally crashed my ship into his which left me in the red looking at his fat suit. He lost. I died in the red, he quit game. We won.
I think benny hill music would make this game more fun. |

Have you ever considered being a scout sniper?
What about a scout runner that plants remote explosives on every objective?
What about a scout that runs, hidden in the hills, and plants drop uplinks?
What about a logistics merc that helps other mercs with supplies, revives, even hacking and the next build will bring a completely revamped logistics dropsuit.
You could also train up to use LAVs that are specialized in just speeding around and running people over. Sure, tanks can one-shot you, but tanks are slow and so are their turrets. My brother trained his character up for vehicles and fitted his Methana for speed. He then proceeded to drive deep into the RED ZONE where the enemy's default spawn point is, managed to run over a poor fellow who was waiting for his tank to be dropped in. He got in an out so quick that he had plenty of time to avoid the 20-second RED ZONE timer. A nano-fiber-fitted Methana can speed in and out so fast that Vin Diesel would be jealous. Oh, you can drift with them too.
I wonder if anyone has ever tried to ram into a tank with a Methana in an attempt to destroy. Suicide attacks are a legitimate strategy in DUST just like tower camping, spawn camping, using REs in place of assault rifles, using a dropship like you're ironing your clothes, running in circles in a scout suit against a heavy who can't turn to save his own life, running into a group of enemy mercs with a COOKED GRENADE like you're the Taliban, rigging an entire room with explosives with you in it as your enemies follow you in there (hell of an alternative to the Swarm Launcher abuse that existed in the pre-E3 build).
There is much more to learn about than just Assaults, AV's and Tanks.
Also, once Corporations are formed, another variable to the mathematical formula is added. Espionage and Sabotage. Just like in Eve Online, if you can't destroy your enemy with brute force, then destroy with deceit, deception, counter-intelligence, drama, or just get promoted to a high-ranking position with access to your corp's war chest and steal everything they own. Make them bleed before the fight even begins. |

Being a sniper without team work isn't that much fun either when you have to dodge 2 drops ships and 3 tanks and everyone wants to kill you if they see you with sniper rifle and chase you all over the map ...
Then you finally find that good place to keep watch (snipe) on A, B or C and realise that no is at A but you team is happily running to get raped on B where enemy sagaris has set up a camp and you end up running to take A all by your self because no one else in your team obviously can deviate from their lemming like behaviour. |

I did that he was on my team but i thought he should die since he does **** all so i hijacked his ship and flew into the red zone and the ****** died then quit match like a ***** |

True, but one has to consider that the purpose of a sniper is to be on their own. But that doesn't make them entirely a lone wolf as they can provide intel on the locations of enemy tanks, mercs, etc. If a friendly merc warned everyone not to spawn at point A, and someone in the ranks does it anyways and gets killed, then that insubordinate has only himself to blame. |

Sniper is useless, i have yet to see one good sniper in this game
Logi is crap atm, pointless trying to heal ppl atm and drop uplinks i can fit on my AR with tweeking but the suit itself is fairly weak and with so many tanks and heavys about you dont last

I don't know how to play sniper, so it can't be done.
Logi is crap in part because of incomplete support mechanics, but also partly because I'm bad at coordinating with my team to make myself useful.
LAVs suck because I suck with them.
Right now there's an imbalance in favour of vehicles and anti-vehicle builds, and I refuse to adapt my playstyle by preferentially targeting AV players who WILL be prevalent on the other team and making life easier for the vehicles my team provides. I'm also too proud of my skills in one area of the game to be willing to side-skill into another role. |

Hey CCP, if you are listening at all. Have you by chance noticed how fewer and fewer people are playing/ testing, ??? Well you should take note because most people are getting the impression this garbage is how it is and will be. I seriously hope it's not otherwise you've failed before you've even got off the ground. If this crap is meant to be a vehicle test sure that's fine but don't let it run for weeks on end and **** off all your potential players. Or at the very least let people know.

Ther is no good snipers
Logi is crap because they can barely survive for 5mins and i can do logi in an assault with a better tank so i survive longer
LAV is a 4x4 which isnt hard to use and ther is no specialization with an LAV

Got Adv forge gun and am skilled up as a max level logistics , only play my er "K/D ratio whor scout class" 4 fun.
I'm just bad at killing tanks and as for this K/D ratio sillyness I dont care for it but then its my first fps and I dont really know wuts going on half the time. |

I just love the way so many people slate Snake for skilling as an assault user. Snipers are useless. That's just fact when they can't one hit kill. I'm skilled as Assaut too. I have tech2 heavy suit forge gun and AV nade set up too, problem is the other assault users seem to be trash, don't drop me hives, and should probably skill for swarms & SMG's as they require least skill to use (for infantry). The problem is too many bad strategies and tactics are defended. Like the tower camping.
Whatever your doing, if you can't cap objectives, gtfo. I see assaults and heavies cappin. (read between the lines) |

The best you can do is Q sync with friends. I've been playing quite a bit, usually grouping with my cousin Coughie. I have a AV tank, prototype swarm launcher and he has prototype swarm launcher as well. When working together we usually manage to make even the strongest tanks flee for at least awhile, all other vehicles get eaten up with the quickness. |

I have been abused by vehicles a few times, but I've been in more matches where my team won with nothing but us poor mobile infantry while the other team had several tanks with dropship air support. Yeah, they did kill a lot of us, but the MI ultimately won for two reasons. 1. The guys in the vehicles couldn't / wouldn't hop out to take objectives. 2. Even the most heavily armored vehicles retreated when taking fire in the back from just our ARs - one MI taking pot shots at an HAV or dropship can effectively disrupt the pilot's actions. I do it all the time and watch the vehicles bug out while my team moves in to hold circle. And if your team has at least one AV infantry player, the vehicles - especially the dropships - will be even less willing to engage.
My rule for enemy vehicles: don't get too close and mark them for destruction with the team commands.
Worst case scenario, if my team is being raped by vehicles no matter what, I try to help set up a perimeter defense at the main spawn to minimize losses and rake in kills/SPs until the end of the match.
I am assuming things will get easier for us guys on foot once / if they increase the size of the maps and increase the amount of mobile infantry per engagement. But I honestly think the vehicles add more fun and challenge. Plus not much else is as gratifying as when you explode a heavy tank with squad AR fire.
