The abuse of remote explosives right now is arguably more serious than the swarm launcher issues used to be. So pretty please with sugar on, can they be fixed soon? I'll blow a gasket soon, the spawn camping and their use as instant kill grenades is pissing me off to the point I tend to just leave the game rather than throwing the PS3 out the window |

To elaborate a touch I'll make a small suggestion. Why not change the animation in which it is deployed so that you kneel when arming the explosive at your feet then prime it rather then tossing it down like its some kind of frisbee? Nothing nerfed, nothing changed but it makes it impossible to use and abuse as it is currently during a fire fight.
Heck this could be done to also drop uplinks, and nano hives just to even things up as well. |

Advice, before trying to take an objective, ALWAYS throw a grenage at it's control point. or have your tanks fire at it. it'll set off the RE's.
Also fun: see RE guy placing the charges. Blind fire at the ground near him. See RE guy learn to fly... |

Placing an RE charge should take time. As you stated, kneel, place and arm should take perhaps 3-4 seconds, with a -10% duration timer bonus on the RE/Droplink/Nanohive proficiency skill per level.
Edit:
Also, limit the number of RE charges to be skill dependent. RE skill level 1 = 2 charges then perhaps a 50% charge count bonus per level for 2 * 250% at level 5 = 5 simultaneous charges.
And to make them more useful, have them be handled individually. You press the detonate button, and select which charge to send the signal to... To compensate for the nerfs, the player should be allowed to reconnect to his previously placed charges if he respawns in the same type of suit. It could be 5-10 second exercise to do that optional reconnect. |

there is no abuse you got outplayed and baited into one. btw I rarely die to RE because I am not stupid and dont myself outplay and bait into some RE. the only problem is that you can still blow up RE after you die.
anyway if you want to reduce the "throwing range" well then go on but then make the RE stick on the surface of the target. any other changes would make RE useless. |

Got to agree it's annoying as hell. they're better than hand grenades at the moment more versatile and just as easy to throw at a distance number of times i've been killed this way is getting stupid now. No way should they be able to be used like a grenade. |

I love em tbh great way to kill heavys
I need them to get kills because im an eve player with no gun game so dont takes away my funz.
Well maybe a little ..how about 3-4 second timer ?
Should at least show up on the HUD if your near em too.
Also I dont mind em how they are at all I rarely ever die to them but while we at it lets nerf AR's cos they kill me alot. |

Personally, either a priming timer or the kneel animation would work, especially the kneel for nanohives... they slide like they're made of ice. |

no kneel animation necessary, just an "arming" animation - you know, flick a switch, press a button or two, THEN let go. one second, tops.
Because seriously, using them to defend objectives is good tactics, using them to spawn camp is unfair but then war's not SUPPOSED to be fair. this is New Eden, where the objective is to WIN. Dropping them as you run round a corner with a heavy on your tail? if he's dumb enough to fall for a trap like that he deserves to become geography.

I will say that I often feel dirty when I offensively use remote explosives on infantry. I think reducing the throw distance and making them sticky would solve a lot of the problems. |

RE issues will be fixed once A) the spawn system is fixed (this will be SOONtm) and B) once friendly fire is implemented (not sure when this will be) |

I've died to REs exactly three times in the new build, just pay attention to where you are going and back up if someone takes out a disk. An ounce of "wait, he is holding an RE" has saved me countless lives. |

An ounce of "wait, he is holding an RE" has saved me countless lives. people look like chimps that have constipation problems when they throw down REs really easy to spot but when theres 3 of them in the same team it gets kinda rediculous since the blast area they can create together is very large and very in-escapable |

Remote Explosives have saved my ass numerous times in going up against HAVs and landed Drop Ships. It helps to be able to run up and blow it away after risking getting your ass blown away by one of those rocket launchers. I like to play as a Point Scout by using a submachine gun, 2 Catalyzers for intense movement speed, and the remote explosives for taking out all the vehicles that keep the rest of my team behind cover. |

Oh, are we doing testimonials?
I have never used remote explosives.
Anyway, I won't until they're working in the manner I think they should be.
1) You should be able to only carry and set 2-3 at a time, and should have a 3-5 second arming time.
2) They should cost much more ISK but they should persist after death. None of this U KILL ME LOL I SPLODE U.
3) You should be able to set them off independently from one another or all at once. This makes them more tactical.
4) The throw distance should be about 3 meters and they should stick to surfaces. This allows much more precision in their use.
5) They should absolutely keep their damage if all of the above criteria is met and be a level 4-5 demolitions req. |

Charges are fine I learned not to chase people the same route sometimes I get ran up on by someone. They pretty much suicide themselves for kills |
