Yesterday I was in for a tough duel against someone handling a Breach AR, me with a shotgun.
I luckily managed to kill the guy, but was left with shields and suit indicating 0.
I should've died, but instead shields raised again while my dropsuit remained at 0... |

I've had that happen as well, It probably just means that had he had one more bullet... |

There is a mechanic which causes shots that would kill your shield and/or armour in 1 hit, to leave you with exactly 0. So if you had 30 armour and got shot for 35, you are left with 0 and a chance to live.
Basically, this means your suit is completely destroyed and any additional damage (like stepping on a sharp stone) will kill you. |

I've had that happen to me a few times already. It's just a matter of accuracy. The bar goes from 0 to 100 but suit armour goes from 0 to 150 in even the cheapest models. So when the bar hits 0% you could still have a few armour points left, the bar just can't show it.
In any case, I have an armour repair unit fitted to my suit. If my armour gets too low I just run around for a bit and let it rebuild. I suggest you do the same. |

My guess is that once your HP reach less than 0.5% the system rounds down to 0%. |

Shields and suit armor at 0 means that all thats left is your flesh so, one or two more bullets would have gone through your armor since you had none let and then gone through your body. Thats why you can still live after having no more shield or armor. Because your guy is still in perfect health and not hurt but everything else is gone.

I've had this happen before and the screen did its whole black/white/gray flashing thing, but I survived and my armor repairer kicked in and put me back to 100% shield and armor... still had the black and white flashing. I even got in a tank and played gunner for someone with the screen black and white. That lasted the rest of the match, as I didn't die again. |

you have 1 structure point, after shield, it represents your vital organs, you can loose all your shields, and armor and still be alive... but if you loose that all important structure point you DIE. |
