I've searched to see if I could find a topic already started on this (as it seems to be a pretty annoying issue), but couldn't find one.
The issue is simple: R2 (hold) > Analog pointed at module you want to use > R2 (double tap) to use > Flail controller in frustration.
It's very difficult to use modules on vehicles. Am I doing something wrong, misunderstanding something, is this intentional, or is there a different way to use things like your shield boost or armor repair?
If a post has already been made to discuss this topic, please point me in the right direction.
Thanks! |

Bumping this topic. At the very least, I'd like to know if everyone else has to use modules the same way. What's going on with this? |

You can't change anything on any of the "Default" gear, you have to go to the Market and buy the Militia class equipment (you only need one of each from the MIlitia section because they're unlimited use and will have a Yellow or Blue box to indicate so.)
Once you have bought at least one of the Militia grade equipment, (or better if you think you won't blow your stuff up on the first try) you can then go into the Vehicle Loadout screen.
You cannot choose the first few options there, because those are the defaults, you have to choose "Create New". Select one of the vehicles you just bought from the Militia store, place weapons and gear on it by selecting a box and clicking X I believe, then press O to back out and save your gear. Afterwards you can click it again from the vehicle list and change the name.
Remember you have to buy 1. Vehicle body 2. Weapons for vehicle 3. Units for Shield Modules 4. Units for Armor Modules
then you can place them together. most base vehicle bodies come with their own Militia weapons installed, but changing them out can improve their use.
If you don't know how to pick out items for yourself just do this little trick: Play a few rounds to earn cash, then go into the Militia store and buy one of each from every militia category. That way you're guaranteed to have your foot in the door for learning about both suit and vehicle creation. |

Wait, you're trying to press R2 when you have the module highlighted? Just hold R2, use the right stick to highlight the module, then let go of R2. It seems to be less sketchy if you don't try to do it as fast as humanly possible.
But yeah, it'd be nice if they were a little easier to access, especially if you only have one equipped that you can activate. |

Thank you both for your replies (and thanks for the well-detailed reply, Gallas, but I was talking about using the modules in-game :p. I apologize if I wasn't clear on that.)
Yeah, it'd definitely be nice if if you could just hold R2, point, click R1. That's immediately how I saw it working, and was a little dejected when it didn't. |

When you need to activate a module, you hold R2, use the right stick to point at what you want to activate, and while still holding the stick in the direction of the module, let go of R2. I've let go of the stick first and lost more than a few vehicles as a result. |

It's downright frustrating. If you double activate them, it'll enable then disable them, thus resulting in you needing to wait for the cooldown. If you fail to disable, well, boom. |

It requires a lot coordination to get right, timing wise. If you release one button too soon, it doesn't work. If you repeat again and agai to make sure you got it right it cancels the operation, and there is absolutely zero benefit to canceling because the restart timer is the same. I agree it's frustrating but after a lot of practice you can become part way decent at it giving you a significant skill advantage over people who are more hectic in their operation of modules. |
