Opening the weapon/equipment menu is stupid and frustrating when trying to quick switch to a sidearm and you don't perfectly tap it. R2 should just be a quick swap no matter how long you tap it. Just use the Left D-Pad button for the weapon/equipment menu. I know there are already threads about this I just think this is important and there more attention to this topic the more likely CCP will address it. |

I would like it to be a wheel that's nice a spaced out so i can hold then tap the analog in that general direction and get what i want quickly. Placement of stuff in that wheel should allow for customization.
If i have a lot of stuff i carry I don't want to have to tap r2 6 times to get what i want then have to tap it another 6 to get my gun back. |

You wouldn't have to tap R2 6 times, hitting left on the D-Pad would bring up the wheel. |

NO!
It is great how it works now. I myself would be fine if they got rid of the tap cycle. I love how easy and quick the wheel works. It is quite easy to develop a muscle memory and quickly change between things. Especially for the logi with so any things equipped.

Personally, I wouldnt mind button shortcuts, like say R2+O pulls your sidearm, Triangle for heavy, Square for light, and X for the first equipment slot. I feel the tap swap alone is a bit unresponsive, and that has cost me many a firefight where I couldn't swap between my pistol and Swarmer... the infantry laughed off my rockets, and the tank wasn't tickled by my Scrambler... |

I really think that R2 should be free of weapon switching at all. I like your idea of left on the D-pad brings the weapon/equipment/modules menu. Now make the Triangle quick swap like all normal FPS games, and the crouch goes to either the Circle, or R3.
Now this won't just make it easier for infantry swapping, but clear R2 for vehicle use, so it can be used as Accelerate, L2 de-accelerate, and the left stick for steering. |

I think that's the biggest problem with the R2 weapon wheel at the moment, myself. Swapping between weapons just feels a little too unresponsive right now, making it awkward to quick swap between weapons.
If they tweak the responsiveness a little, I think it will be fine. Although switching it to triangle or something wouldn't be a bad idea either, works wonderfully in Resistance 3.

R2 is fine as it is. the hard swap is MUCH quicker and more reliable then tapping it.
The D-pad is used for map player list and other stuff, there is no need for using that for equipment and such.
do you always just tap it or do you ever try to hard swap? |

Ok. But i think whats happening is we have two systems - cycle and the wheel - and they are interfering with each other. Possibly because of input lag as well.
CCP needs to choose which system it prefers and stick with it. Gamers can then get used to the wheel, or cycle through R2 |

Under fire and with an empty magazine, I've had issues with the tap and wheel method. The wheels seem to be stingy on the direction of the joystick. This goes for the dropsuit fitting too. |

This does need a fix for those that use a game pad. I may pick up an el cheapo m/kb for this game to get the full effect. |

I don't know if the system needs to change, so much as the tapping needs to be tweaked. At the moment switching to a sidearm is a difficult task.
Almost as bad as turning on a vehicle module |

actually, i like the wheel.
when you're playing with only two items, it seems pretty clunky. but when you have 4+ it really makes sense.
tapping is useless. just hold, and select what you need to (since you know what its going to do, and where the icon is) |

How about just giving an option, so it's one, the other, or both?
Cause i personally find the wheel alot more reliable way of switching weapons. |

Why not just let the players map their own buttons so this all becomes preference. At the very least make the trigger button, oh i don't know.....the trigger for your gun. |

This should be an option.
Weapon swap should be a specific selection in a control options menu.
At the very least, there should be options for quick-swap only, the current system, and toggle weapon wheel. Press weapon select button, highlight weapon of choice, and press it again to pull that weapon out. Preferably there should be an option to hold for wheel without having the quick-swap option, but that's less of an issue. |

yeah i think that the swap is a bit unresponsive too. . . Died some times, because i was hammering r2 to cycle to my next weapon (not through equip, but it didn't switch at all). The wheel is suboptimal too, i tend to fail at least once when i try to switch the weapon using this (hold down r2 - move the stick into the direction of the weapon of your choice - let go of r2) . . . Maybe they could add, that the whole circle is broken into equal pieces, so that if you have two weapons you can tilt the stick in any general direction up / down to select the weapon. Maybe then add a quickselect option for the wheel, so that the equip gets automatically selected you highlight first using the wheel. |

Im fine with the current system tbh
I rarely carry anything except my AR/SMG so a quick R2 press and my back up gun arrives but the wheel is easy enough to use tbh |

i do not like this method while flying my dropship i want to Tap R2 ONCE and have my armor/sheild repairs come ON.
i do not want to have to hold R2 and POINT up then click, doing this causes like 5 seconds where i have to click it a bunch of times when i can rather be steering my ship and avoiding swarm missles and forge blasts. |
