I miss DUST so much...

It's ridiculous, I know, but I have yet to find another game to become enthralled in like DUST. One thing is for sure: I am getting tired of spending $60 on titles that hold my interest for about a week. I don't troll; I tell the truth. I'm also known as "The ANTI-Propaganda Machine".

From what little info im gleaming from the void of Dust and Nova and what seems to be CCPs motivation is that the best idea now is that Dust (Nova) goes to a VR ps4 Version that is playable for Dust fans and separated from EVE in its first prototype phases and then merge it with EVE later down the road. All fps games out now are garbage and Dust was by far the best MMOFPS.

I really liked the gungame in dust, no cheap one shots or death by bullet graze, 99% of the time 100% skill aaand then "SPLAT" a dropship/tank/murder taxi wrecked your KD and bank balance :p but you could avoid them if you wanted it. That is one of the things that separates Dust from other FPS ... if someone hits you with a tank/dropship/jeep, then you can switch suits and annihilate the ****** with an arsenal of vehicle eliminating weapons. Dust had counters for everything and if cant solo soldier it then you can grab your crew and TCB. Damn i miss Dust.

On top of that, there were not ever consistently players online. CCP recently made comment that their VR is now starting to break even, so they are existing on the revenues from their non-VR games. Why put at jeopardy their real earners by obsessively pursuing something like VR which isn't even commercially proven technology? Yes, they're keeping EvE going, but they canned Dust, and think how much more they could have done with EvE or a Dust port. VR remains to this day a glint in CCP's eye. The true test will be when they decide to can everything else to pursue VR, whether that will be the end of them or not....

But if PvP was what you wanted to do, I imagine an Alpha clone with limited everything, and only able to fly one race, would have a difficult time of it.

My take on this is that Alpha clones get people into the game and they are good enough to give them a basic experience of their race's gear and skills, but not good enough to be truly satisfying. To do that, you need to subscribe and get full access to every skill. And of course, once you've tasted that, you never want to go back. I have a couple of Alpha accounts, extra accounts I used to subscribe, but I never bother playing them because they're too limiting.
