Lmao I forgot about that ****. Wasn't it suppose to be like a 10% boost and CCP screwed up on the decimal point and made it 100%?
The Fuel Injector was supposed to be 25%, but on release it was 125% on top of the already ~2x base speed increase in that update.
Snuck up on a Madrugar and thought I had 'em, but they hit the nitro button and backed into me at mach 5. One-shotted my Gunnlogi with the impact. :'(

Remember that time when Millions of ISK just randomly showed up in our wallets?
I spent the ever living hell out of that :D At the time I assumed it was just a refund for the horrors that came before that, but whatever. I had so many proto suits from that which I never even used haha.

Not as great as people who put themselves into SP debt after leveling Amarr Scout to V when the skill multiplier was wrong.

The 2000 foot tall SMG in the sky was cool. I think I saw that one twice.
Also trying to fly the Nullabar dropship was an interesting challenge. It seemed like the center of gravity was way off. Sometimes you simply could not stop it from flipping upside down. You just had to go with it and try to complete the roll to right yourself again. Trying to fight it would guarantee a crash.

That was hilarious. I thought I'd be a rather experienced DS pilot, but well, the Nullabors proved me wrong. |

Oooh! I remember the first versions of the Dropships. Their missile launchers were intense!
Tower Dropships, heh.
When they first came out, I was one of the first to figure out you could park a dropship sideways on the tops of the towers. This was a bug because if you sat in the pilot seat, while carefully rotating the craft it would slide off the building due to the slope of the object. Yet if you hopped out of the Pilot seat when it was sideways, the craft stopped sliding with the turret a full meter out from the edge of the tower.
I never saw anyone else do this before I did, but I probably wasn't the first. It allowed the infinite range of the missile launchers to gain a nearly full view of the entire map, and because the DS was sideways, you could shoot everything, including at the base of the tower.
I think I got like... 80 kills in one match that way. XP
MCC Escape
I also remember the old MCC loading areas. When they had those kiosks installed that let you view skills and other etc on the second floor, one time I walked over to the last kiosk, and was trying to go down the staircase, but instead I somehow clipped up and shot through the roof of the Waiting area. The backside of the ceiling was untextured, and was a jumble of neon colors. If I recall I thought it was Green and Purple.
Ghost Camera
Another time while playing, I died, or something.... but instead of the camera locking to the correct position of my body, it broke free of the character and started zooming off around the map at 5x the speed of a dropship. I got to tour the map, and see the various empty nodes that were in that area waaay out beyond the killzone border.

I remember way, way back when there was a vehicle delivery glitch resulting in a single HAV request ending up in a sizeable pile of HAVs. CCP did go a long way with DUST but for every step forward, there seemed to be a step back. Anyone else remember small turrets and the old rotating seats on large turrets? WTH happened again?

This is more of a design mistake than a coding mistake but how many players remember almost killing a player to have them switch suits at a supply depot? I remember a few players who stayed around depots so they could pull this trick multiple times per game. Was this ever addressed or fixed? I don't remember it being fixed. I remember there was talk of a burndown timer being in place before being able to use the depot again but I am pretty sure that never happened. I think the simplest fix would be the suit you are switching from should be lost instead of going back into inventory. In any case, I'd be curious to see if supply depot functionality was changed for Project Nova but I'd guess not.

A fix was made, albeit very late. They made it so that if you switched suits while on low HP, whatever you switched into would also be low. I don't remember if it was based on percent missing, or direct HP transfer (but if you were at 100%, the new loadout would be 100% even if it had more total HP).

How so? A weakened HMG heavy would absolutely lose to a pursuing Assaut with most of it's eHP left.
I did hear of people making a favorited Scout loadoat built for regen, but honestly that just puts you back in the fight sooner. It wouldn't save you from a pursuing Assault.

For those that have played EVE, imagine shooting at a tiny frigate for them to go into any station and immediately come back out with a destroyer or worse still, a Titan. I remember running into a Scout that switched out to a Sentinel. Of course, such a scenario cannot happen in EVE but I remember it happening for a long period in DUST. I didn't hang around them for whole matches, but I totally made use of this if I was near one... Was nice to insta-heal... Also after the fix I'd just jump into a free suit if I was about to die.

Being able to stack nano hives and uplinks on top of each other land a dropship on the pile and then flux the dropship. It would fly an insane distance especially prior to the cap on equipment spam. In no show PC's we would get an entire team in logi suits on the tower in the mushroom map, stack the equipment and flux the dropship, once we did it at the very end of the game and the dropship crashed into the MCC as the game ended. |
