I'm choosing not to address the "Pokey Dravon's Criticism" video, because it reeks of high school drama. Instead I will RE: "Gunjack 2 Announcement, and what it means for Project Nova"...
TL;DR seems to be: Gunjack 2 took development resources from Project Nova.
Gunjack and Gunjack 2 are CCP Shanghai side projects. The quote I read from CPM that attended fanfest was that Gunjack was something a small group of devs worked on between other tasks. I believe it was Kevall Longstride who said this, but I can't be sure as this was roughly a year ago. Point being, the amount of time and money spent on making these two games is negligible. The Gunjack IP isn't harming Project Nova's chances of being made. In fact, it is likely increasing those odds, which brings me to my next point...
The Gunjack IP gives CCP Shanghai another source of revenue beside the Chinese EVE server. This is a good thing since a group of devs making money for CCP won't get shitcanned, you feel me? Project nova needs funding and I bet CCP would be more likely to loosen its purse strings if it has Gunjack bringing up its bottom line.
In the video you basically say "Well pretty much all of CCP Shanghai's development resources have been going into Gunjack." And how exactly do you figure that? CCP does not release the size of their dev teams, their current tasks, or which projects are given priority right now. You are making a huge assumption with that statement and have no evidence to back it up. Studios sometimes work on multiple games concurrently.
You also state work won't be done on Nova until end of next year. Dude... did you even reach out to the former CPM before making this video? They are speaking with CCP daily about Nova, CCP LogicLoop was rehired specifically to work on Nova and says so at least once every couple weeks. Work is going on right now, homie.
And I want to stress that just because CCP is not communicating the current state of Project Nova that does not mean it is not in development. That doesn't mean I like the silence! Don't misunderstand -- I hate the silence and I believe it is hurting CCP in the long run. But it doesn't mean Nova is canceled. It just means CCP is absolute shite at PR, which is not a new revelation
My advice to you, playa.

As I have explained before, the team for the Gunjack games is comparatively small. It Is first and for most a mobile phone game for a start. Using UE4 is very scaleable so porting it to PC and PS4 is also relatively easy. It's on rails Galaga style of gameplay also makes Dev simpler and most of its art assets are pre-existing from Eve meaning even that is not a roadblock.
Now, I suspect the mindset is in place and nothing I can say or do will change opinion on this but these are the facts.
Dev team for Nova bigger than Dev team for Gunjack. There's some cross Dev work because both games use UE4 obviously but that's about it.
End of discussion.
The Gunjack franchise is also proving to be a new revenue stream into the CCP coffers. Always a handy thing when developing other games.

Let's assume the Gunjack effort is a side project for the Shaghi team and on occasion a little talent, from time to time, is siphoned off to meet project time line deadlines and the extent of Rattati's involvement is one of consultation and occasional review, meaning Nova devlopment is still running at full bore.
The community (aka Salty Tryhards) is frustrated about the following:
1. We can only assume and guess what Nova what will look like compared to Dust in terms of assets and sophistication 2. We have no idea how long it will take the team to get Nova in a state where it might be approved to move forward 3. We have no idea of the odds it will get approved 4. The Dev leadership is fully aware of the relative thirst for news but has to remain tight-lipped because they all want to get a paycheck next week from CCP despite the urgent pleas from the community they be otherwise.

Thanks for the Update Kevall. I haven't heard much official news out of the CPM, and I welcome new information on Nova's development, and certainly have no problem if it contradicts my previouslly established assumptions.
I realize NDA's make things tough, but if you can offer more information to the community, it will make the wait that much easier on all of us. Literally any additional information you can provide is welcome.

They're always available through the public Skype and Discord chats, I speak with many of them, as well as CCP developers, On a regular basis which is where I get all of my information. It's all public and available to everyone if you simple reach out and make the effort to talk with them.
I know it seems to paint me as the "Boundless Optimist" and the "CCP White Knight" but it's not like I pull this stuff out of my ass. It's all based off of information given directly by those closest to the project. So I apologise if I was patronizing in my earlier response, but I grow frustrated when actual factual information is ignored in favor of speculation.

Don't get me wrong man I wish I didn't have to do as much legwork as I do. I do it because I'm interested in the truth and because I try to take on a more journalistic role. However most people don't fit into that category so really the only thing that will put 99% of people's minds at ease is if CCP actually openly talks about it in a centralized location. It was foolish of me to think I could help improve morale as a random individual of the community.

At this point I just hope CCP knocks it out of the park with Nova since they seem to be so clearly distancing themselves from their original playerbase through the iron silence treatment.

Look if it helps, even though I suspect some of you will hate me for it, I still get to see some cool stuff from Rattati and the team on a regular basis. The latest just this week in fact.
These can be either screenshots, PowerPoint presentations, short videos, concept stuff. The point of me saying this (and it's not to get a rise from some of you) is to demonstrate that there is a very real sense of progression in the development of the game.
Now in answer to the inevitable crys of 'why aren't they showing us this stuff then?!', Rattati himself has said in the discord channel that when they have something ready to show they will. And that's the point. What I've seen is still very WiP, none is polished to the point where it might be ready for public consumption yet. With the still active members of the CPM being under NDA still, we can see this stuff early and give feedback.
And my feedback to you guys is that it isn't ready for you to see without risking false expectations without it having context.. Sucks I know but that's the situation as it is.

I want to see new stuff probably more than most, and I'll flip **** more than most, but the sad truth is the game is still in early development. Typically, no one would see anything at this point.
It's good to have you around, you were always one of the best if not the best CPM when it comes to relaying information. Thankfully I've taken up map editing (and possibly even quest making, oooh) in Fallout4, so I'm plenty occupied.
I'm just wondering why the project has yet to be greenlit (at least publicly, unless I missed it) if there's such active development on it? Seems like something they'd want to mention, if literally nothing else.

They rehired an employee who worked on DUST 514, CCP LogicLoop, specifically to work on project nova. That should tell you something. The only must-have announcement is the alpha and/or beta. I mean that's true, just CCP is pretty trigger happy when it comes to closing down projects, so seeing just a little formal commitment from Hilmar would be a nice sign.
From dust we rose through trials young as legions run through countless souls; resting dreams within the boundless nova.

If you're not over 50, then not one of the oldest. I played with several guys over 50 (as I am) and, IIRC, one dude over 60. My mom keeps telling me I was too old for videogames. It all started when I was 13, and she stands by her word today.

This is so cute. Makes me want to pinch your little Melinial cheak and pat you on the head. "There there, you aren't actually a Sensationalist, you just said a few Sensationalist things. We still like you. It's ok!"
Sorry to be an ass, but the controversy here is so underwhelming that it barely qualifies as content.
I agree with Pokey that some of what you said in your last video was Sensationalist, but it is easy to get a bit sensationalist when you are trying to make a commentary with so little information to work from. I would not characterize you personally as a Sensationalist based on your body of work. I just think you leaned a little that way in that one vid.
You have a long long way to go to reach the heights of sensationalism reached by some of the DUST YouTubers that came before you.
I have to say though, that if "Sensationalist" is the worst insult we are throwing around these days, then this is one dam friendly community!

If people would look up the facts before pulling wild-ass idiocy about CCP being actively malignant and deliberately farming the DUST players for tears to incite a riot I'd be less of an as*hole. Don't get me wrong, I'd still be an a*shole. just somewhat nicer. Honestly I think we should all be thrilled that people are still interested enough in this IP to be offended or angered by it. If CCP would just sticky a thread with all the information they've disseminated around the community it would probably go a long way towards chilling people out. I'm curious what is more relevant....the Discord chat for Project Nova, or the forums for a game that no longer exists... I have a vague idea what Twitter is, but what is Discord chat?

Discord is a chat/voice client that is catered towards gamers. There is a fairly large group of vets in one of the Dust514 chats.

They rehired an employee who worked on DUST 514, CCP LogicLoop, specifically to work on project nova. That should tell you something. The only must-have announcement is the alpha and/or beta. My understanding is that CCP is using a gated development process. That is, after each stage of development the game must pass a test (get through a "gate") before funding is approved for the next stage of development.
Player feedback from the demo at Fanfest 2016 was a major gate (test), which Nova passed with flying colors. The only real criticism was that it did not feel enough like New Eden, and that is something that can fixed. So Nova development was given full support for the next stage of Development.
The question is, how many more "Gates" are there before CCP will commit to releasing it? The final Green Light?
Will they wait to see how fans react to the game at Fan Fest 2017? Or will they want to make the grand announcement at Fan Fest 2017?

If we do not have an alpha ready this year then I would put money on an announcement at FF 2017. Why? One silly reason: CCP marketing loves a big reveal.

You are correct. Though I would rather they take their time rather than rush it. I'd love to see something this year but not at the cost of quality.

This is why I like having kevall around. He is often able to articulate concepts in a way which doesn't risk the NDA while providing real words that don't feel like someone talking to fill silence or making empty platitudes.
I am much better at straightforward, functional discussions than this kind of thing and I tend to be the one who says the things no one wants to come out and say, or hear. I'm just waiting for the glorious moment that they say I can start talking.
Then I probably won't shut up.
But for now I'm happy to have kevall be the best at communicating. Because unless I can say something that doesn't risk the NDA and doesn't sound like empty platitudes, I'd rather keep my trap shut.
