Breakin loves me so much he tells me to go stop existing. None of you other faggots have said such thing, and if you say it now it is because i told you to. Go suck on a rubber duckie, none of what is said in here can be surmised as good enough to be toilet paper for my corn holio.
There is a fine line between not listening and not caring, I like to think i walk that line every day of my life.

And then, rather than apologizing, doubled down on it and claimed it was appropriate for a CPM to behave in that manner. It would be incredibly easy for me to write a simple email and get him ejected right now. Prior to being elected Breakin was foulmouthed and routinely said such things. CCP reviews a candidate's posting history and ejects CPM hopefuls who are deemed too toxic. And yet here Breakin sits. CCP does not care. Your threats are empty.
Only the immediate history. Breakin did his best to clean up his image a few months before running. In fact, a lot of people did. It was pretty hilarious to watch and I regularly criticized my own people for doing it.
Politics. What CCP doesn't care to do is dig through the post history of someone who's been around forever. They will do the bare minimum of what is required to state that they reasonably did their job. If a complaint comes up about exceedingly offensive behavior, not to mention potential bullying of an "autistic" individual, well.... can't let that reflect on their company, now can they?

1. That's not the way you use the word cited. It doesn't hinge on his removal.
2. You have no way of proving any of my claims are false, therefore you have no way of knowing anything.
3. I never said I would get him removed. I said that I can. He was smart enough to back off, so I'm keeping my finger off the trigger. But if he puts me in the right mood...
4. I'm not sure exactly what grounds are necessary for you to "win", anyway. Hard to tell. You have a goal of some sort? Is it a game? I'm not even sure who you are or what you have to do with anything at all. SA troll perhaps? Seems the most likely sort of affiliate. Does anyone know if Remedial is still fat? It's been so long.

Whatever, princess.
Just do it if you're going to try it.
no one wants to hear how smart you think you are, and bluntly, it's a vidya game. Two guesses how broken up I'll be about lising secret squirrel access and suddenly have to spend all of those late night hours sleeping instead of working with the devs for no pay.
Do it or shut up about it.

Himiko Kuronaga wrote:Yep! That's my theory, anyhow. I imagine some vehicle models will be used for scripted, map-specific events more than anything.
If they got really creative you might see Titanfall levels of background interaction with dropships and the like, but I doubt we will ever see players in control of them again. CCP struggled incredibly hard with vehicle balance and when it comes right down to it, half the playerbase was pissed off at any given time.
Rattati's comments about getting away from planets could just mean he wants to see more EVE influence, but somehow I doubt it. It sounded more like he was trying to evade a more technical explanation of some of the failures with the game and dress it up as moving in a positive direction. The land generation in the game was really quite terrible and had all manner of issues (quicksand, janky hills you get stuck in, clipping problems with buildings, etc).
I believe they would pretty much have to scrap that system and get something new or it would be a new generation of the same old complaints. And that system was a pretty big deal to develop the first time around from what I recall. It never even realized its full potential as being completely randomly generated either.
At the moment I doubt they have the resources to fund building an entirely new system for that so they are likely going to just use sculpted terrain for smaller maps. Which means vehicles in all likelihood just wouldn't work anymore. If that turns out to be the case we will likely hear something akin to "This is how things are for now but we plan to change things later", but then nothing will ever change naturally.
Background interaction is meh, if i can't fly it or drive it then it is kinda pointless, i don't mind an active enviroment because it brings the field alive but DUST is not infantry only and neither should it be if it is claiming to be an MMO.
Planets can easily be made more EVE, novels describe it in detail, pre rendered pictures spread about in EVE and various trailers and blogs showcase that already it just needs to be put in game.
Building interiors is easier, no mountains or uneven ground, nice smooth walls and floors but that is not always what a planet is like.
The direction is unknown and will be for a long while, hilmar does not seem to have much faith in it, funds and resources have been cut and they seem more excited about VR and the tech demo is a dissapointment.

They've had PC builds of Dust that looked and ran better long before it was ever on PS3. Doesn't mean anything. Not with a Gallente Research Facility that looked like that, they didn't. Those assets were created after Dust launched on PS3.

I'm going with what Rattati himself has been saying in every interview about building core gameplay and then moving bigger.
Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade started out with the same model. They first put out Founder's Access with 32 players per match, and then after going out on Steam for Early Access they're now up to 64 players.
The goal is to keep increasing the number of players, stabilizing the network traffic and balancing the assets for the higher count, and then increasing it further.
Their launch goal is 512v512, and right now they seem to be progressing rather well toward that. After that, they're going to be working on an open-world where you don't have matches at all and can just travel across continents like you could in the original Planetside.
Project Nova looks to be following that model, and I approve 100%. You can see just from watching videos of Eternal Crusade how far the gameplay has come in the last few months using that more conservative development model.

See, the issue I personally have is that CCP has a longstanding history of saying "we will start with this, and then it will be expanded". I feel they have no real development focus and things consistently get scrapped mid-production.
So things get part halfway out there and abandoned, then revisited years later but never to the extent that it was originally supposed to be done. Ambulation, atmospheric flight, modular POS, COSMOS, player-owned deadspace pockets, so on and so fourth...
So when CCP says something like this? I don't believe them. They have never in their history ever finished something that was half-released. Why start believing now?

So when CCP says something like this? I don't believe them. They have never in their history ever finished something that was half-released. Why start believing now? Uh, EVE didn't start out in 2003 anywhere close to what it is now. Also, most of the features you mentioned were ones they decided not to pursue because they either wouldn't add anything to the game, or they couldn't think of a compelling reason for them at the time.
They're working toward letting EVE players build our own stargates and colonize solar systems outside of New Eden, and when the game started it was just Frigates and Cruisers and didn't even have an ownership system for Sovereignty.
I can understand pessimism at this point, but let's be real here. Is EVE actually hurting from the lack of any of those features you just mentioned? ****, everything modular POS would have offered is coming in MUCH better form with the new Upwell Consortium structures.

Ambulation actually WAS a deal breaker for me, honestly. Then they dragged it out, saying they would revisit it later... and kept saying it for years until finally a quote in an art book of all things said there was no chance of it ever coming back. Dust was as close as we got, and we know how that's turned out so far. That one example tells you a lot about how much denial CCP goes through with feature abandonment.
Whats funny is they keep scaling back, scaling back, scaling back... eventually the hope is that it becomes something else entirely and people just forget the original vision. I'm sorry, but I can't. It's not what I got into this for.
They claimed they would put this game on PC so it could achieve more than what it was originally doing.
Tell me Mobius, how do you achieve more when your stated goal is to achieve less? You can't just remake Dust as an arena shooter and expect it to work as a battlefield-style game down the road. It simply doesn't work, and they know it. But saying it makes people feel better about the future, I guess...
