This doesn't exactly answer the question, but I'm hopeful it implies a certain amount of customisation. Progression is intended to be simple enough that a new player won't bugger themselves, while retaining the actual progression of personal power. That's what I thought. What's not clear is whether the statement about "freedom" applies to fitting modules on suits or whether he just means you can use any of a variety of pre-made fits. To my knowledge, there is no intention to remove modules. How you get the modules may change. Will say more when sh*t is finalized and I can torture a legal nerd into giving me the green light to talk more.
Currently it looks like isk is off the table for now... i dislike that.

I wouldn't read too much into the demo mechanics, tbh. Implementing ISK in a demo format just isn't going to work, so it's only sensible to not put it in.
Everything has to come to an end, sometime.

Not to mention one of the articles has Rattati on record saying he would like Nova to be within EVEs economy. I don't know how they would do that without ISK.

Let's be real with ourselves, there was very few things about Dust 514 that were perfect.
- Player size is 100% NOT 6v6. It was 6v6 because we only had twelve computers.
- Fitting system has not been axed, to my knowledge. The classes shown were well-rounded and highly polished for the gameplay demo.
- They were not at all instant respawns and some people said the respawns took too long.
