I still will never get why so many of you spend so much time worried about what other people are doing. This type of thinking is just so negative...try to have some fun while you still have a chance, or not.
If forum posting helps you vent and calms you down then I guess that's cool, or not.....why does anyone care about anything?...Wait what am I talking about? I'm going to do something else The answer is taco, the answer is always taco.

Now that I've discovered logis, I'm making lots of SP and ISK, so I should be in proto suits pretty soon, but right now, it's just not possible.
I do have access to State LP proto suits, but I can't get into any CFW matches to get them, and all the AUR suits are just that, I can't buy them for ISK although I have plenty of ISK due to my running BPOs all the time.

It always amuses me that the people who complain so much about others using BPOs are generally the stompers. They don't like anyone escaping their stomping. ;) |

I see this is from the other thread. We'll continue here. :) I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't have the ISK to run perma-proto in a losing match. While I'm around 78m ISK, there's still plenty of time before the servers close. Losing a 150-200k suit several times when I'm on the wrong side of an officer stomp will add up pretty fast. Not super stacked on officer either, so I only pull it out when it looks like I won't die to BS; or vice versa, when there's more competition than starter fits. I run proto if it's an evenly matched battle or I'm being a logi for my corp bros (can't stand not having the best EQ). If the match is totally lopsided, I'm not gonna lose a million ISK for no reason. And if I'm on the stomping side, I'm not interested in making it worse by assisting in the prevention of the enemy leaving their redline. That simply isn't fun, and the purpose of a video game is diminished. So sure. To support your ideals, I'd happily accept a donation. I totally agree with you, while my wallet does not. 78M is more than enough to proto stomp. You can't proto stomp if you don't have the skills to fit the suit. |

Stop being a ***** and fight till there is nothing left. Nothing we own will be transferred over. I agree, there is no longer any excuse to not bring your best to a fight. I myself have noticed much more even battles over the past couple of weeks with everyone bringing the best gear. I myself have noticed much more unbalanced battles over the past couple of weeks with everyone bringing the best gear - except for those that don't have it, can't fit it, and therefore don't run it.
The matches I'm being put in are much more unbalanced now. |

You could just play how you want to and not worry about what other people are doing. I personally wouldn't mind running proto gear if I could actually fit it, but proto gear pretty much requires squadding, with others that are into stomping. That would seriously make me question my even playing the game. |

It takes 3M sp to get a proto suit. and another ~3M to skill up operation and proficiency to level 5 of any weapon you choose. You mean to tell me, that guys that haven't been playing for 2 or 3 months don't have one single proto suit???
Besides, if you don't have the sp or if you only have 1M ISK or so in your wallet, then obviously you can't run it and my post wouldn't apply to you.

True story....I mean, if you hate the game so much and you left, I can understand you ragging about guys still playing dust when you're playing ANOTHER game.
But I think that it is even more sad that guys would participate in a forum on a game they don't even play anymore and rag about those that still play it. I mean, you could be doing something else like posting on your active game or trying to get laid.

"I do it, therefore you can." I'm pretty sure that's a logical fallacy, not to mention that you didn't reciprocate all of my points.
There are still some lurking variables. Such as the fact that you have limitless ISK, or you get better matches, or your gungame is better than mine. I'm a good player, but not a great one.
The point is, I'm aware of how my choice of suits affects my wallet, and I know for certain that I'd run out before the game closes. If you'd make better use of 78m ISK, good on you. We're not the same people though.

I worked out some time ago that matchmaking has an insidious facet to it. Someone in CCP thought it was a good idea to put all the available squads on the same side first, probably so gangs of squads could team up. Then the rest of that side and the other side are filled with solos.
The result you get is one side populated with stomper gangs and the other populated with solos and noobs. If there's enough squads, both sides will have them but one side always seems to have more and dominate. The other problem is the way teams of noobs and solos are sent against teams of proto squads rather than other noobs.
This is a matchmaking problem, Ydubbs, not a problem of people running BPOs instead of proto. |

Besides, if you don't have the sp or if you only have 1M ISK or so in your wallet, then obviously you can't run it and my post wouldn't apply to you. I have 20m SP and over 190m ISK! But there are other things to spend SP on than suits! I focussed on core skills pretty early. Being an EvE player I understand that core skills are the important ones for EVERY suit you run. So my core skills and weapon skills, which are the ones essential for fitting ANY suit are very good - then there is the fact that there are so many different types of suits. I have level 3 in all Caldari Assault, Logistics, Scout, Sentinel and Commando.
At least I've specialised in one race. You're talking about specialising in one suit!! How do you even know which suit to specialise in until you get good enough with them to work that out? To do that you have to have at least ADV skills. I'm only now working on getting Assault, Logistics and Scout to level 5. I can run State ck.0 suits with lvl 3 of each type but that necessarily means my bonuses will be down.
You seem to make a lot of assumptions with your tirade against BPOs. Based on another of your posts, you want everyone wearing proto gear so your team will have proto gear. But that's just not going to happen, because of flaws in matchmaking. While there are noobs, running solo will put you in teams of noobs and they don't have the proto gear you want them to. Get over it. |

I've only ever toyed with them and can't fly to save my life, but saving my life at this point is a silly goal. Maybe I'll just buzz around crashing into random things, or ejecting over randoms to see what I can stir up. I always had a long term plan to be a dropship pilot. I even have a few and have ADS skills trained but then I discovered scouts and sort of went in a different direction. Now I'm having the same thoughts as you - it would be good to get into a dropship again and see what I could do with it.
Exactly what happened with me. We best get crackin' I guess!
