Love my Militia Magsec BPO This is why I love my Rasetsu, Hawk and now my Kampo (I finally got one in exchange for the Shogun I really shouldn't have bought).
I love running these suits because they're good enough for purpose without dying before I have a chance to do anything, and they're free, so I don't have to worry about losing suits.
And I find the Medic - CA is still the best MLT suit I have for both speed and weapons - again, because of that Militia MAGSEC! :)
Edit: People who think fighting in the most expensive suit is the only way to go are missing an important point. Militia gear is actually quite good, if you learn to use it right. It's not the best, but it's still powerful enough to do the job. |

He's annoyed that his team is usually populated by MLT blues, probably noobs, who couldn't fight in a proto suit even if they had one. His problem is with matchmaking, not with people not wearing proto. |

Dubbs can vouch for me, I've never ran Proto in anything but our PC matches. These days? I don't even have non proto or officer fits in my dropsuit fittings. My only regret? Not running full proto all the time sooner. I love the challenge and feeling of coming in first on the leader board while running my APEX or Sever Logi, but running non stop Pro with reckless abandon has been quite liberating. Like the first time you try free balling.

I am really aggressive.....I don't profit when I run proto all day. But nowadays, I run officer and experimental whenever I play. I am hoping to run out of them because that's the point at this stage. I won't be able to use up the ISK. But the point is to burn everything.

I can dust it off but not all of the time. And using anything under proto because you want to save ISK at this point, is pretty stupid. I see your point and I agree that burning all proto/officer gear is a great idea, but I guess I don't understand why you care about what other people choose to do. You could just play how you want to and not worry about what other people are doing. Maybe because of my character...I'm usually paired with the MLT wearing blues who gets raped from the start. No matter how well I do. Doesn't help my experience any. OK, but this is nothing to do with the MLT wearing blues, who probably are noobs anyway. This is to do with the fact you run solo, as do I. I worked out some time ago that matchmaking has an insidious facet to it. Someone in CCP thought it was a good idea to put all the available squads on the same side first, probably so gangs of squads could team up. Then the rest of that side and the other side are filled with solos. The result you get is one side populated with stomper gangs and the other populated with solos and noobs. If there's enough squads, both sides will have them but one side always seems to have more and dominate. The other problem is the way teams of noobs and solos are sent against teams of proto squads rather than other noobs. This is a matchmaking problem, Ydubbs, not a problem of people running BPOs instead of proto.
what are you saying? that the guys running MLT has the same chance as guys running proto? There are scrubs on both sides of every match. The team that has 8 guys going 2-50 is probably running MLT.
You have a point...these guys are probably scrubs anyway but they'll stand a better chance vs the other team's scrubs with better gear.

There is no reason to only use proto or officer in pc matches. Burn them all in pubs, get 1.5M ISK payouts until you run out and then quit the game.
The only ones I can understand still bringing out adv gear or lower are those that for some reason can't afford to run proto all day. If you have 30M ISK or more, you should be running proto and officer gear. If you are low on ISK, I will send you some. I have billions of ISK to burn and I don't play enough to do so. How incredibly narrow your thinking is! How do you know everyone even has proto suits? I don't! I don't have the skills for them although I'm working really hard to get into them by the end. Now that I've discovered logis, I'm making lots of SP and ISK, so I should be in proto suits pretty soon, but right now, it's just not possible. I do have access to State LP proto suits, but I can't get into any CFW matches to get them, and all the AUR suits are just that, I can't buy them for ISK although I have plenty of ISK due to my running BPOs all the time. Don't rail against people who don't run proto just because you do. What makes you think you can tell people what they should run, anyway? It takes 3M sp to get a proto suit. and another ~3M to skill up operation and proficiency to level 5 of any weapon you choose. You mean to tell me, that guys that haven't been playing for 2 or 3 months don't have one single proto suit??? Besides, if you don't have the sp or if you only have 1M ISK or so in your wallet, then obviously you can't run it and my post wouldn't apply to you. I have 20m SP and over 190m ISK! But there are other things to spend SP on than suits! I focussed on core skills pretty early. Being an EvE player I understand that core skills are the important ones for EVERY suit you run. So my core skills and weapon skills, which are the ones essential for fitting ANY suit are very good - then there is the fact that there are so many different types of suits. I have level 3 in all Caldari Assault, Logistics, Scout, Sentinel and Commando. At least I've specialised in one race. You're talking about specialising in one suit!! How do you even know which suit to specialise in until you get good enough with them to work that out? To do that you have to have at least ADV skills. I'm only now working on getting Assault, Logistics and Scout to level 5. I can run State ck.0 suits with lvl 3 of each type but that necessarily means my bonuses will be down. You seem to make a lot of assumptions with your tirade against BPOs. Based on another of your posts, you want everyone wearing proto gear so your team will have proto gear. But that's just not going to happen, because of flaws in matchmaking. While there are noobs, running solo will put you in teams of noobs and they don't have the proto gear you want them to. Get over it.
You're an EVE player? Nuff said.

why is profit still a motivating factor at this point? Stop saving your ISK..nothing will be transferred over to any game that CCP makes after Dust.
And if you're getting redlined, proto is still better. Because if you're thinking of sneaking behind the enemy, then you have more space to fit cloaks, drop uplinks, scanners, codebreakers (if you're trying to speed hack the objective), etc. You have a better chance of winning 1v1s with guys hanging out not on the redline. Plus, you can fit stronger weapons and mods to kill people faster because you don't have time to dance with everyone when you don't have a team behind you.

No, of course someone running MLT isn't going to be as good as a PRO, at least under the same circumstances. I never said that. If you read my posts I actually said that your problem is with matchmaking, which puts all the MLTs on your team. |

MLT is better than proto when you fight better in MLT than in proto. Yes, proto gear is better per se, but the proto wearing player will not necessarily be better than in MLT.
The main circumstance where MLT is better than proto is when the player knows they would lose their proto gear if they engage in a fight, so they avoid the fight. With MLT gear you can just dive in. I myself fight better in BPO suits, including MLTs, because I just dive into the fight without worrying about losing the suit. Yes, I know this is the end of Dust, but it takes a little more than that to change someone's fighting style and habits. |

You really are being quite obtuse about this aren't you?!
People fight with different styles. Some people don't uselessly waste suits, even if it's the end of Dust. There's many reasons for not doing so.
I'll give you my most important reason. I'm still trying to get my Caldari Assault skills to 5. When I get them there, my suit and weapon bonuses will be better than they are now. I have Neo and State Peacekeeper suits which I've been using sparingly in preparation for the day I'll have all the bonuses I can get for them. By then, of course, I'll be able to buy ISK ck.0 suits and wear them.
Even then, though, I will still only use them when my chances of losing them are low. I solo, which means I'm always on teams of solos and MLT noobs. That's the way matchmaking works - all the squads populate one side first, presumably so that multiple squads can team up together. As an aside, that probably explains why some squads leave the match right at the start - they see they didn't get on the "right" team with their cronies.
Anyway, you really need to get off this drive to make everyone conform to your views on how people should use their suits. Just because you don't see or condone any reason why people aren't just burning their suits, doesn't mean others agree with you, or ever will. |

I still use Militia weapons because I get off on killing people with them
Love my Militia Magsec BPO This is why I love my Rasetsu, Hawk and now my Kampo (I finally got one in exchange for the Shogun I really shouldn't have bought). I love running these suits because they're good enough for purpose without dying before I have a chance to do anything, and they're free, so I don't have to worry about losing suits. And I find the Medic - CA is still the best MLT suit I have for both speed and weapons - again, because of that Militia MAGSEC! :) Edit: People who think fighting in the most expensive suit is the only way to go are missing an important point. Militia gear is actually quite good, if you learn to use it right. It's not the best, but it's still powerful enough to do the job. In NO situation is MLT ever better than proto. Not true, militia is better than proto when your team is being redlined, because you can literally die 20 times but still make a profit, which is not possible in a proto suit. why is profit still a motivating factor at this point? Stop saving your ISK..nothing will be transferred over to any game that CCP makes after Dust. And if you're getting redlined, proto is still better. Because if you're thinking of sneaking behind the enemy, then you have more space to fit cloaks, drop uplinks, scanners, codebreakers (if you're trying to speed hack the objective), etc. You have a better chance of winning 1v1s with guys hanging out not on the redline. Plus, you can fit stronger weapons and mods to kill people faster because you don't have time to dance with everyone when you don't have a team behind you. Why is profit still a motivating factor? Because Dust isn't dead yet, and some of us still want to be able to buy good suits when we can fit them. Obviously some already have all the suits and ISK they need, but others are not so lucky or started too late, like me.
As for nothing being transferred over to Dust 2.0, you have no way to know that. CCP has been quite obscure about this point, saying they will keep some good things, and not others. How does that translate to "Nothing will be transferred"? Personally, I'm counting on as much as possible being transferred over, ISK, SP, skins, you name it, I want it. I worked for it, and as far as I'm concerned Dust SHOULD be persistent, so all these should be transferred over, no matter what you believe. |

I'll take some ISK of your hands. I promise I will use it to protostomp. ^ what he said.

Profit is is no way a motivating factor after the announcement, at least for me. I'm just saying that you can't die 20 times and make a profit in a proto suit, but in a militia suit it is possible. I never use militia at all anymore, but pre-announcement I used it all the time and that is how I made the majority of my money.
