I've been having some debates with my corp m8's about opening 10 boxes multi times vrs one box at a time, some think its better to just do 1 at a time cuss it don't matter, but I've found opening combo's that have given me multi of the same "Quafe" gear. Let me go over what I have, this is over the span of two toons by the way as one has more luck then the other. First toon me: Quafe shotgun Quafe scrambler rifle Quafe combat rifle 2x Quafe assault rifle Sec toon Alt: Quafe laser rifle 2x Quafe mass driver As for the assault rifles I'm sorry on that one its been to long and i don't remember what i did to get them, the shotgun and scrambler i went crazy one night and found you cant open more then 80 boxes a night in sets of 10 before the system will not let you open any more boxes due to it will cut your link with CCP's database and refuse access to let you open any more set's of 10 around 80 or 90 boxes at once. The Quafe mass driver i had about 26 keys at that time I opened one box once hit x or what ever it is to open another signal box closed out and opened one set of 10 looked around at what i got stopped on the officer mass driver and opened another 10 and boom there it was, sec time i got the other mass driver i did the same thing and got another one! The combat rifle i had 21 keys and just got last night, i opened one box closed out and then opened 10 looked around and stopped on the officer combat rifle then opened another 10 and boom there was the combat rifle, I'm not sure if its the amount or where you stop when looking around the first set of 10, keep in mind I've done this alot with nothing its like it gives it out once or twice a month the way I've been doing this, hope this helps let me know how it goes for you! The first day / box of the new year - Quafe CR 1 weekish later - Quafe HMG 2 Days ago - Valkear Skin-M It could be RNGesus has blessed me with luck, but I can assure you that I did not open around 2(X) boxes or open sets of ten between each of the items gotten. Perhaps the fact that you can get a set of boxes with junk from daily missions plays a role, for instance, you get 7 boxes for a mission, and among those 7 are only 1 bad ass item because you cant give 5/7bad ass items, so opening 10 gives you 7 of those earned from one mission, and 3 from another, allowing for a better chance at the good ****, but because most people open 1 as soon as they get there key, they are getting new boxes before the ability to open them. Perhaps that's why the people who have multiple keys and open them at once get lucky.

The only reason you're more likely to get something good is that you've increased the number of boxes you open in this session by a factor of 70. I've gotten a few good items as well, but I only ever open one at a time. I tried waiting until I had 10 like someone suggested. Nothing astounding. It's supposed to be chance. If opening multiple boxes at once were to actually increase your chances of getting good gear, that means it's not chance.

You're not guaranteed anything, because it's chance (unless of course it isn't...) but whatever you get from opening 10 at a time, you will get from opening 10 boxes one at a time. That's the way chance works.

I've done the open 10 at a time thing a number of times now, and never got a BPO. I think it's more likely that people get good stuff if they BUY AUR to do it. You think CCP hasn't got the means to know that you bought AUR to open more boxes? Think again. They will reward people who spend actual money to do so.

My take on this is that it's actually not pure chance, that CCP records the IDs of people who buy AUR to open multiple boxes. I think that's the reason they have the option to open 10 at a time, so that people will see the benefit of buying AUR to do so, and that they will be rewarded by good gear when they do. For the rest of us, opening one at a time or saving them and opening 10, 20, 30 at a time, we will just keep getting the same reasonably good gear, and otherwise lots of useless junk that we always do. I've gotten my share of decent gear but no BPOs. It appears to me, reading these threads that people who buy AUR to open boxes are the ones most likely to get BPOs.

Well the fact you are opening something at all is a chance in its self, what I've found by my personal experience is you don't get the same thing for opening one at a time, and I hate to think that i had the same line of thinking awhile ago. As I have started a new way of thinking tho, the reward has been worth the simple patience to collect XX amount and find out who wrong I was. Take it for what its worth just trying to help here! But will it hurt you to save up two or 3 sets of say 26 keys mean save up to 26 open one signal one twice or even 3 times then open two sets of 10 right afterwords to find out? Try it out for the next few months, its not like your going anywhere, and at worst case I'm wrong and your out nothing ether way, give it a go. It's like my mother always told me! Actually, since I spent money on DUST I have gotten no BPOs..... Seems like all I get now are terrible boxes filled with an assortment of Quafe turrets and advanced Nova Knives. Its been 100s of boxes since I last hit a skin or BPO. Anyone else notice that the officer gear seems to be less frequent and in smaller quantities of late from boxes. No more 5x of anything. Now its 1 to 3 at a time at most of the officer items.

So you're saying, therefore, that it's not chance! But it's supposed to be. So someone's lying are they not?

I would like to know who started the story that it was pure chance. It sounds like it's not.

If it comes in waves, the "waves" are generated by CCP. CCP controls all this, including and not limited to, whether or not it's pure chance as to what you get. If the chance of getting something good FROM ANY ONE BOX is increased by doing anything specific, then it's not chance.

I did 200 of them just as described. I got zero bpo from singles. I got yet another quafe RR from sets of ten. Opening more at once does not guarantee anything.
