Why does this whole community feel like b*tching and whining about DUST's problems will make the process of fixing it any faster? I mean, the fact that DUST still has people working on it is a blessing in and of itself, why do you people take it for granted? CCP has been silent because they know that anything and everything they say will be met with intense criticism, so why even bother interacting with a hostile community like that? You guys blame CCP for all our problems when this bad community is pushing them away. It's hypocritical and disgusting.
Accept that they are being silent, accept that we are in the dark until they choose to tell us otherwise and let them come out of the cave you pushed them into. It's like pouring water over a cat for 2 straight years and then expecting the cat to be buddy buddy with you. Grow the hell up and understand that A) CCP wants to work on 1.3 or maybe a port (which you all need to quit bitching about) and B) It's very hard to work hard if you know the work you put in isn't going to be appreciated.
Honestly guys, lay off.

The silence is just another chapter in the horror story that is the treatment of Dust as a whole.
In years now not a single bit of real progress has been made while "balancing" has been used as an excuse to say they are working on the game.
Less vehicles than before.
Less maps than before.
NPE is absolute trash.
PC is just as useless as it was before and now you even get to wonder if the match will get randomly cancelled.
Lag has gone from being primarily a PC issue to also being a problem in every other game mode.
Cash grabbing proficiency 10 was achieved in the form of a half finished 2d model.
I have never in my life seen a company that drastically reduced quality all while asking for more money and then people have the nerve to act like they are the victim when paying customers complain and ask the company to at least show some real effort on meeting their promises as oppose to just dumping them like trash and running of to work on some crappy VR projects.
If you don't like people rightfully complaining then don't read it.

For every whiny idiot (there are a few, not always the ones I pick on) there is an equal number of people whom, while not likely to have their ideas come to fruition, are often used as example jump-off points that can make a new feature or balance point a reality. Often people I pick on are people who I'll use elements of ideas from, because I spent time flaying their ideas open for useful things I know won't get dismissed outright. Same with the others, in my experience. The more we're picking apart an idea, the more interesting it is to one of us and we're trying to find anything that's usable from it.

I will attempt the cattle prod again in the next few days to see if I can't scare one into the light long enough to at least cop to slowly recovering from the holiday hangover.

Agreed. The game is literally in some of the worst shape it's ever been. The lagspikes are constant, the framerate issues are as bad as ever, PC is worse than it was pre-"fix pc", they've spent months doing nothing, the last dev post on the forums was 3 months ago and that was to tell someone to stfu. I paid my dues, I bought my aur, I put in the hours, where's my customer service? I've had 2 help tickets for 2 MONTHS! The latinos have overrun the servers and own 75% of molden heath because they're too laggy to fight, hit detection is as awful as it ever was....and on top of that we're still waiting on news about....ANYTHING! If I take my car to a mechanic, I have every right to ***** about it if he closes up shop for 3 months and tells me absolutely nothing about my car after I've prepaid for repairs.

CCP's management record is just plain awful. WoD and Dust could be counted among 2 of the greatest flops ever.
The management of the Legion announcement was WOAH bad.
I'm not sure how they managed to wrangle 30 million dollars but I would not invest $30 in CCP at this point.

I'm new so I have a somewhat fresh view of this.
We whinge and whine because we don't hear anything from CCP about the next version and/or port of the game. This is important because it's the future of the game. It's not as if you can just keep playing it forever - it's an MMO, so it needs other players and servers.
How do we know that CCP is working on it? They don't tell us anything, so it's not really something you can assume. I don't see any evidence at all that they're working on anything much but carrots to dangle, to keep us interested a while longer.
CCP isn't silent with the EvE Online community, and they get criticism the likes I've never seen here. I'm sure that if they wanted to say something, being criticised would be the last thing to stop them.
My view on CCP's silence is simple. I look at the reasons they might be silent, especially in the face of the fact there are people leaving exactly because of that silence. The only one that makes sense is they can't say anything positive about the future of Dust and they know they can't say something negative, so they say nothing at all....
Dust is on life support folks, get used to it and find something else to do when the day comes that it's gone.
Me? I'll probably go back to EvE. |

I feel ya brother. I may not be good enough join a top tier corp but I am ok. As soon as any Spanish corps hit the field lag hits and hit detection is out the window then I can't kill ****. What the Hell is up with that? Can some one explain? Do they have better internet over there or what????????

The problem here is you're looking at the product within the product, whereas I'm just looking at the product as a whole. Many people only put money into this game to help support its development, yet this game has had a horrible development cycle that constantly takes one step forward and two steps back. For every good little tweak the devs manage to squeeze out, three bugs have gone unfixed for years. It seems like any profits from this game are simply being funneled out of DUST and into other projects, and has for some time.
If you think sweet mashed potatos tastes like vanilla ice cream than who am I to come between you two?

I am guessing you are referring to the fact that CCP flapped their gums and not only failed to deliver but also managed to do only things that players hated.
I would agree with you if it was not for that amazing little thing called a middle ground. You can talk to players and announce what you are working on if you are actual able to deliver. But please do continue whining over a F2P video game that you chose to pay for. Noone bought the game unless you count those that bought the bundled ps3. Still though, they bought a PS3 that happened to have a game included that would otherwise have been free. There was no scam. You (or whoever we're talking about) paid for a consumable. You (whoever) then consumed it.
A degree off, some ended up with BPOs and infinite gear (within the confines of the game) for the price of a consumable product. Yet you're comparing that to sweet mashed potatoes for wtfever that means. No. You got your ice cream, ate it, in some cases got a second helping with BPOs and APEX, then you still have the willful ignorance to throw a tantrum twisting what has actually transpired into something where you claim you have been slighted.
If my family member paid me for ice cream and i gave it, and the kid demanded more accusing me of giving him potatoes instead, I'd advice the kid to grow up and laugh because there's a long hard reality waiting for him. If the kid is an adult, then I'd suggest therapy for delusions of self entitlement. Could be symptomatic of something more serious.
...for whoever we're talking about, that is.

See I'm not whining though, whining would imply that I care and want something in return. I am so far beyond that point. I accept that I invested my money poorly in a poorly managed project, as you say, this is simply reality. However to just shut up because I'm displeased with the project is just as futile as lavishing them with praise for it.
So, I'd rather tell people like it is than try to give them hope over something that has none.
Perhaps my analogy is off, but it doesn't take much to see how poorly this project has been handled and how dismal of a future it currently has.

The latinos have overrun the servers and own 75% of molden heath because they're too laggy to fight, hit detection is as awful as it ever was....and on top of that we're still waiting on news about....ANYTHING! If I take my car to a mechanic, I have every right to ***** about it if he closes up shop for 3 months and tells me absolutely nothing about my car after I've prepaid for repairs.

The game started like no other I've played in every sense.
New concept in gameplay, new concept in development.
Dev were actually listening us, stuff we had suggested has been brought into the game.
We felt the interaction and took it as an habit. The fact CCP is breaking this habit is pissing the most of us.

I think if CCP actually did what they said in the first place this would probably be less of an issue. Every game community EVER has people who ***** till the cows come home, that's nothing new. Having company reps constantly tell you one thing then come out with another, that seems to be more of a CCP thing.
I don't blame them for being quiet, no one really trusts their word anymore so even telling us things would probably breed just as much mistrust as them staying silent. It's just hard to have any hope for an IP when the very company who spawned it seems all but disconnected from it.

At the end of the day CCP is at fault and needs to answer for their actions.
Terrible management has wilted the community down to nothing but toxic players and real fans. Unfortunately the toxicity far out numbers those who give a crap about this game going anywhere.
If CCP did not give legitimate reasons to ***** then the said bitching would hold zero weight and have no bearing on the outcome because it would be recognized as pessimist grumblings.
Stop playing white knight for CCP attempting to play the role of their PR department and shift blame around.

1.End of match victory/defeat screen that last for way to long. (Fix needed) just to make the game playable
2. Q times for matches that are NO Where near what the interface says they should be. (fix needed) just to make the game playable
3.Alot of Disconnects including going into match and one of squad can't get in match.

Brush Master back in April of last year had a wonderful idea that possibly would have given new game play mechanics to the game, that we all could have enjoyed. His idea was so good that Ratatti said he would look into this idea, and then nothing. There are multple cases like this, the fact that CCP won't follow through with simple things like looking into something when they say they will and then just leaving OP to flail in the wind, is bull. It's things like this compounded with the silence that is causing resentment imo. Oh, let's also not forget about the 5 vs. 13 matches that are just so much fun to play.

CCP is the ruling power over the game even more so than any government of a country.
We attempt to be participants in said game and even contribute time and money to its existence.
Just because you would rather look at the scope of the two things being compared instead of the comparison itself does not make the argument any less valid.
It is absolutely white knighting for CCP. If having a company that has seriously broken its promises in the past say hey we got something great just spend money and then go full on iron curtain is not a reason to complain then I legitimately do not know what is.
As for complaining before the silence I stand by my original statement. Any complaining was first validated by CCP's actions otherwise it would have been shrugged off as nonsense instead of growing and festering.

CCP does not have complete control over the game. We don't even know who to blame for not having a port. What is Sony is responsible for not letting us have a port? What if it is CCP?

Sony will publish any game that pays the dues and passes the QA checks. We saw that with the fact that they published Dust in the first place.
