STOP THIS. Spending money on Dust is NOT an investment in a port, it is an investment in staying right here on PS3. Companies go where the money is.
Do you know why CCP adapted their silence policy after the FF14 debacle? Because their wallet got utterly screwed. People filing charge backs with Sony, spending drying up, and players actively pushing players away from the game hurting future revenues did permanent damage to the bottom line no matter how you look at it.
If you want to speak to a company, you speak with your wallet. Do you think Hilmar or the accounting department are here reading us whining about a port? No, our money is just lines on a spreadsheet that someone sends over to them.
In this case the answer is to return CCP's silence with silence. As long as you tell them you will take their silence and keep giving them money you are only part of the problem.

I found it.
Quote:I'm just gonna put this out there. I predict that Dust 514 will remain as a ps3 exclusive title until Sony no longer provides support for the PS3. Once that happens, the Dust team and all their assets will be dissolved and then CCP can go back to focusing on their primary money making game. There isn't going to be a port of any kind, and valkyrie is our replacement because CCP realized that they should stick to what they know best, and that is spaceships. They haven't pulled the plug yet because they're still getting some money out of us. If they were actually going to keep Dust 514, then we would be included in things like fan fest, or other events that involves CCP's fan base. It's also apparent that any mention of us is an embarrassed mumble and they want to just sweep us under the rug and pretend that we don't exist while at the same time trying to not say it to our faces.
I also would like to point out that even tho the Dust team would like to keep the game going, it's not their decision, the main body of CCP Games get the final say. And if they were going to keep Dust, then we would of had the same website makeover as all the other games.

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not spending another cent of real money on this game until I hear there is a port. I don't really care at this point whether CCP knows this or not, I'm saying it if they want to read it. |

CCPs future beyond EVE is now relying on one thing GÇô Valkyrie better deliver.
Beyond that is CCP's silence is based on actively going back to the drawing board and investing in real development in DUST.

There is no future for Dust at all.
This game will die...
If there is a successor, it will be completely different. If not it's doomed aswell, especcially if anything personal (sp/assets/isk) gets ported over to the new game. Nobody will put money in a game, where 3-4 Year old vets can stomp anybody at will.

I still remember when there was only one MCC and it freaking moved. That multitiered Skirmish was awesome. Still remember seeing the tanks being piled up by RDVs too. I miss that game.

Quite a lot of you have been laughing at this dying game for 2+ years.
You do realize that the lifespan of a lot of FPS games is significantly shorter than that, correct?
Games die off in time, laughing at a game who has been able to go longer than most is somewhat comical. In fact, might I suggest you head to the Star Wars Battlefront, or the Battlefield 4 forums and laugh about their games dying? Chances are once both of those games are dead you can come back here to continue to laugh at our dying game.

The reason why no one believes there will be a port is because everyone doesn't have hope. Maybe if we put our hope in CCP and invest in it, CCP will see there is a playerbase worth giving a port to.
They tried to announce a port once, they failed, partly due to their poor announcement skills, but also partly due to the playerbases uncalled for reaction. Instead of asking questions, they immediately assumed they were left in the dust.
What I can't understand for the life of me ( and this is no knock to you ) is why do you port pushers think that this game would become so much better on a PS4 ? If it's a port then it would just be a " copy and paste " because the dev's and the powers that be also the excuse makers that play the game would tell you that there is nothing that could be done to change the situation that this game is in and if it's running like crap on the 3 , what would change that with a move to the 4 ?
So what .?. now those who have a 4 can see how careless the powers that be are ? The game was crap on the 3 and had a small player base and you have more people that have a PS3 then have a PS4 in the world , hell it's people that are just experiencing what it's like to have a PS3 and what , how many years has it been since the initial release of the system ? You people act like everyone that has a game or access to one has money or don't have RW issues to deal with and I have a PS4 and wouldn't download this game to it in it's current state if CCP paid me themselves .
What will they do what their game hard freezes or they start to have black screens or blue from installing Dust 514 to their systems .?. what's going to happen when you still have to suffer with blue flashes , bad hit detection , falling threw maps and the multitude of glitches and bugs that plague this game that has more to do with the complacency of CCP then the system that it's performing on ?
I have zero problems with playing Fallout 4 or the Witcher 3 but I bet dollars to doughnuts that as soon as I would download this game that my system would start to give me trouble and issues that it hasn't before .
But I guess as long as you people who keep trying to pressure CCP about a port get what you want that's all that matter and not the quality of the product or CCP reputation at hand and how their handling of Dust 514 on the PS3 hasn't harmed it one bit .
I guess more of the same is alright as long as their fans who act like children get what they want .
No need to worry about quality because it is 2015 and it seems like more and more businesses care about making a quick buck over the quality of the product that their producing and their namesake .
I'm sure CCP could care less about the pressure and more about making their product better and their name talked about among the best in gaming production but I guess the selfishness of those who support their products matter more to the same and when you get the silence from CCP that you've currently been getting , it's probably because they realize that these same could care less about the product and just about what they can get in the moment .

They did say that the game would be different from the first two but people just didn't understand .
I like the first two better but you will still find those who support the change , why I don't know in comparison but I guess shiny wins over content and submersion these days , hell people don't even like to read books anymore .
