Optimistic speculation and nothing more.
Until CCP comes out and shows some actual progress with bringing this game up to speed, they're just stringing you all along in the hopes that you'll "purchase AURUM today!"

The reason why no one believes there will be a port is because everyone doesn't have hope. Maybe if we put our hope in CCP and invest in it, CCP will see there is a playerbase worth giving a port to.
They tried to announce a port once, they failed, partly due to their poor announcement skills, but also partly due to the playerbases uncalled for reaction. Instead of asking questions, they immediately assumed they were left in the dust. |

There is a reason this community doesn't have hope in CCP. People can have hope that the south will rise again. That doesn't mean it is ever going to happen. CCP has a track record of failure with this game. Having hope in CCP at this point is irrational and a bit delusional to be quite honest. Being here since day one of closed beta killed any faith I ever used to have in CCP. All they do is fail fail fail no matter what. Honestly if they did port this game I see it being a huge disaster.

Fail fail and fail you say? I'm looking through the dev posts and all they have been doing is trying their best and communicating with the playerbase to the best of their extent. I bet you if he could, Rattati would up and make a dev blog explicitly saying what the future is going to be. The only thing is, he can't, why? Because if he did he would be fired, without a job, maybe even on the street.

The dust IP is worth money and they will either abandon it or make a port. I can't imagine they will abandon it while so many games around seem to prove that the idea has solid potential. The how and why of it remains to be seen because after screwing up the media campaign they decided to have radio silence. Which is fitting for a big company with a commercial agenda. There is nothing personal about it, its just business.
I am always suprised to see how many dust haters seem to hang out on these forums. What are you doing here? It is a forum for an old niche game. I understand you don't like the game but maybe its time to move on. CCP cheated you and mistreated you. Go to other games and be happy. There is nothing here for you. |

we used to have 24 versus 24 so fail there
we used to have a two stage map so fail there
we used to have defined roles for heavy suit hmg, light scout strafer and tanky duvolle ar assault but they got wiped along with an actual survival value to proto suits.
so fail there
we used to have actual value in prototype tanks but they got wiped
so fail there
as far as a future on the PS3 ? well Sony just said the PS3 is being discontinued in New Zealand in 2015
so fail there |

Who cares about a dumpy little island?
Proto tanks were op cry moar.
Lol there was never perfect balance in the game, you mean when all anyone knew to run was cal assault and we had what 1/16th of the content we do now? Lol ok, no you're right the game would've prospered more if it stayed exactly the same as it did in chrome.
I have never seen anything about any match more than 16 players, I remember corp battles were limited to 6. Show proof then you can cry about it lol.

By Jon Denton Published 22/08/2012
Much has already been written about Dust 514's extraordinary connectivity with the bustling mega-MMO Eve Online, and impressive it certainly is. Grand ideas like this always sound like game-changers when they're first spluttered into the ether, but as with any big machine, it needs its cogs and gears to be grinding together smoothly or it'll all fall apart.
Hence, then, CCP's closed beta for its ambitious online PS3 exclusive - a weekend-long trial that saw avid Eve-rs pay a moderate sum to help stress test and sample Dust 514's 48-player skirmishes. Diving in myself, two things immediately struck me. |
