Realists are what pessimists call themselves. As for your other comment, why do you think I left in the first place? Because this game sucked. I come back and a lot of things are leaps and bounds better than they were. I have been getting great matches, no lag, and no exploitation (other than jumpy people) so far. |

The reason why no one believes there will be a port is because everyone doesn't have hope. Maybe if we put our hope in CCP and invest in it, CCP will see there is a playerbase worth giving a port to.
They tried to announce a port once, they failed, partly due to their poor announcement skills, but also partly due to the playerbases uncalled for reaction. Instead of asking questions, they immediately assumed they were left in the dust. |

Fail fail and fail you say? I'm looking through the dev posts and all they have been doing is trying their best and communicating with the playerbase to the best of their extent. I bet you if he could, Rattati would up and make a dev blog explicitly saying what the future is going to be. The only thing is, he can't, why? Because if he did he would be fired, without a job, maybe even on the street.
Constant updates and you say there is no hope? I say we don't have enough hope. |

STOP THIS. Spending money on Dust is NOT an investment in a port, it is an investment in staying right here on PS3. Companies go where the money is. Do you know why CCP adapted their silence policy after the FF14 debacle? Because their wallet got utterly screwed. People filing charge backs with Sony, spending drying up, and players actively pushing players away from the game hurting future revenues did permanent damage to the bottom line no matter how you look at it. If you want to speak to a company, you speak with your wallet. Do you think Hilmar or the accounting department are here reading us whining about a port? No, our money is just lines on a spreadsheet that someone sends over to them. In this case the answer is to return CCP's silence with silence. As long as you tell them you will take their silence and keep giving them money you are only part of the problem.
Money is one kind of investment yes. Hope is another kind. I am speaking about the latter, not the former. |
