Pretty bold assumptions to make, but you will be happy to learn, incorrect ones. Not that you'll take my word for it, and there is no way for me to really reassure you by any other means without breaking NDA in some way, and even then... oh well, why waste my time? Have a lovely day.
How awesome would it be if they did balance solely on our feedback though? Think of what we could do with that power!

What kind of inside information do you have on this game that you can talk about? Do you have any information that can explain why I have to play the waiting game for several hours just to try to get into a match?
I get home from work and I can get into a full Acquisition match within a few minutes of searching but once that match is over I feel like the game bans me from playing anymore Acquisition. I highly doubt that all the people in the initial match I was able to get into up and decided to stop playing Acquisition all at once.
This is happening to me pretty much every single day, Monday thru Thursday.
For this to happen to me as frequently as it does (4 consecutive days every week) makes no sense to me. Tonight over a span of two hours of queuing Acquisition I was only able to get into one match and it wasn't even a full match. |

No, I unfortunately have no way of knowing how that would come about, and I certainly am not an expert on the matchmaking logic of any game, let alone Dust. But I can say that while wait times are sometimes unbearably long, what you're describing should not be happening, and it would certainly be in the game's best interest for the Devs to investigate what's going on there.
Now, I can't promise it would lead to anything, but may I request you send in a support ticket with your character name, the approximate times of battles and queueing, and any other pertinent details, and ask them to look into what is going on behind the scenes?
The main issue with pubs in general is that unfortunately, Dom is by far the most popular game mode (don't ask me why, I don't get it personally), and thus it can be really hard to get into any other game mode, particularly outside of peak hours. :(

I'm starting to loose interest because
The same old same old. Same maps, same set ups. Nothing really new in a long time.
Many of my friends are on PS4 and I too have one myself. I've been playing with a core group in fps games since Rainbow 6 Vegas and when the PS4 came out they bailed out on this game.
Not sure what direction this game is taking. Back in beta there was excitement with the possibilities for this venture. We can take whole world's as ours. We would have huge space battles raging over our heads fought on the PC/Eve side while we rage war on our PS3s. We could choose from 1000 maps to fight for. Not so and never will be the case. Sadly the true potential of this game has failed. The only true way to even come close is to port it to next gen and take the next step. Not going to happen tho. If I knew this game will be here in the future then I would spend $$ again but can't since it mostly be spent on a close to dead game in which this is.
I continue to play because I still have fun and have made some good friends that don't have next gen yet. |

It fits the main desire of the regulars. People that play games alot, "grinding", if you will, get into the habit of prioritizing earnings and maximizing the time it takes to accumulate them.
Before the changes to vehicles and squads, Ambush was their preferred mode because its a quick game with good pay, especially if the other team has no chance.
Now, if they are going to play an objective mode, Dom is the obvious choice. With Skirm, people have to guard different points, attacks come from all over, the game can be drawn out by a few good lone wolfs who keep the flanking going.
With Dom, its either guard or attack one point. Almost everyone in that game will go to the point. Maps arent very big so travel time is minimal. Depending on the socket, vehicle impact can be minimal or negated, as having air support or good AV can keep the enemy vehicles far from the only fight.
If you want to increase interest in other modes, up the pay. People follow the money.
*DISCLAIMER: When i say people that "play games alot, grinding", its not meant in a negative context. I have grinded many games. |

I lost interest in this game because of the player base.
As it happens, all the people who made the game worth playing and enjoyable have moved on to PS4 or PC for better gaming experiences.
All that is left are the whiney little bitches who cry nerf this and buff that because they want what they like to be top dog on the battlefield. They are the ones who sit here and say "lets make NPE something worth something" then turn around and are actually the ones making it unbearable for new players. These people are the ones who hop on a bandwagon because actually doing stuff on their own is too much work and they just want to flash their t.itties and have a good time.
That and my PS4 has prettier games.
I do occasionally play Dust but it is at times unbearable.

I believe I would fall into the "losing interest" category. Why?
- PS3 is dead/dying
- Dust's development cadence is slow
- Communication from CCP Shanghai has taken a nosedive
- Poorly implemented monetization (LOL $10 SKINs)
- No PvE or manufacturing/industry content

also its moved over to a more Pay to Win mode now that the Lab doesn't produce officer weapons. Now the only way to get a reasonable amount of any kind of officer gear is from strongboxes, yes we can get it from EOM salvage but really how often does that happen these days? If someone has an extra $10 a week to spend on opening strongboxes then they will get far more officer gear than someone who isn't. CCP in their own words have said that the officer gear is very powerful which is why they removed it from the lab. Thankfully though DUST is at such a stage that not many people are gonna be spending that $10 a week cos they've moved on to better pastures, but then there are some tryhards who feel the need to 'be better' than everyone and will splash the cash.
Also though i think we should just be able to trade all items, the PS3 (and thus dust) life is coming to an end. This holiday season more players will be treated to an XB1 or PS4 and our playerbase will shrink, its always a good sign that a console is all but done with when the latest FIFA/NBA/NFL/COD is either missed or scaled back and i think that CCP should just let us trade all our goods we have that may be on alts or from friends who no longer play ect and just let us go out with a huge bang. all them AUR modules and items everyone has just sitting in assets n the hope we'll be able to trade them soon, all the other bpos and boosters ect. just lets all have a bloody good old time splashing the isk and burning through everything we have lol

Last year Sony built a PS3 factory/warehouse in Brazil. There is a strong number of the population in Brazil that has moved into a classification of sort of upper middle class-ish. What this means is that more PS3's will be bought this holiday season in Brazil, increasing the presence and population in the Latin-American community. Why do you think our numbers have been pretty steady since last year? There was a massive drop in numbers from where they were at, but they've held steady for quite some time.
Just food for thought.

zDemoncake wrote:My losing of interest towards Dust revolves around:
- CCP silence - Terrain and weapon glitches that have been around for quite some time, such as the RR misfire. - A matchmaking system that starts most games with uneven teams.
Another thing that annoys me are random team mates in pubs / FW that aren't worth anything. They do not contribute anything positive towards the team, or helping establish a win.
I'm only here because of the friendships with my corp mates / social features of Dust.
Perry much this. As of now, I have literally played maybe ten times in over two months. As others said, it's the lack of decent battles anymore. I used to enjoy the battles where it was a constant back and forth, fighting tooth and nail to just out do th other team. Didn't care if I won or if I lost. It was the hellacious battle that kept me playing. Now? It's automatically either full proto, redliners or ignorant blueberries. You can only do so much as one person. Then there is the unrealistic amount of times where you're firing, even headshots, and nothing is registering. Or like the last battle I ran, running as a heavy, emptied half of my clip from an HMG, no damage at all in to a adv assault suit. Rubberbanding, server overload, the list goes on. And, yes, the silence from CCP nowadays. Even just as far back as this past spring and summer, there was at least more communication between CCP and the community. Now it's non existent basically. It's skin here, minor tweak here, sale there, etc. Main reason why I even play anymore, on the off chance I do, is because of the social aspect. It's the friends I've made while being here. But even that can't convince me to play much anymore.

I understand CCP is all about trying to create content for the game but allowing scamming to the degree that it is at is absolute ********. CCP could have worked to implement the same type of trading system that you see in Eve but instead they put together a very simple trading system that allows scamming which in turn brings about very negative consequences.
Its worse than CCP doing nothing to inhibit scamming. They implemented restrictions on isk transfers, inhibiting people like me, who ran escrow services and exchanges between Dust and Eve, making it harder for decent players who took the trouble to make work-arounds for their failure to code a trustworthy trading system.
I started a break from Dust and Eve at the beginning of the Summer, and just popped onto the forum to check in, to see if CCP had implemented anything that would get me to turn on my ps3 and reactivate my Eve Online account. But I'm not seeing anything to lure me back in, which is too bad because when Dust wasn't being terrible (for the various reasons filling this thread) it was great. The close fights that were won because our coms had discipline and the squads were filled with people who knew their roles, are some of the best games I've ever been in, in or out of Dust514. Some of the goofing around matches with hilarious chatter were excellent as well. But those excellent matches have been too rare to stick it out in a game with fundamental design errors, like
#1 Making the turn rate contingent on the frame rate. That's partly just me though; I can't aim without a mouse, and Dust doesn't *really* support mouse aiming. (or at least it didn't at the beginning of the Summer, I haven't played for months) It supports a crappy, semi-emulation, that I've never really gotten the hang of. So I can play any PC FPS where I can occasionally get a top score from shooting people in the face, or try Dust again, where I was never able to shoot well.
#2 The link to Eve remained a gimmick. I built more of a link to Eve Online through my currency exchange, than CCP ever built. Its possible, but I'd be shocked if the sum value of all equipment destroyed by orbitals exceeded the value of the currency that moved through my exchange. And I wasn't the only player to run an exchange, or even the oldest exchange. CCP really dropped the ball. (Or has this changed in the past five months? I don't know.)
I hope I run into the people I played with here in other games though. The people in Dust were awesome. Although, prior to Dust I played Eve Online mostly, so that's a really really low standard. :D -Gyn Wallace/Min Lo
P.S. Shout out to Zaria! I think the last time I was logged on I was voting for you and Cross and Pokey. If I do ever turn on my PS3 again, it'll be to hang out with you guys.

Dark and Omega squaded with you last night in battlefront they weren't sure if you noticed. I've been FO4 lately, I broke from Metal Gear after breaking into a Top 100 player spot. I'll get battlefront loaded, but I'm headed for Rainbow Six on release-keep looking at Wildlands and cannot wait! The original Ghost Recon was loaded on Cadet pc's @ West Point and UBI is actively seeking input from the old guys that played the original game online competitively-hopefully.
