Are all the kids these days so emo that trying hard is no longer cool? Are we all just supposed to be apathetic all of the time? Should we all just start randomly shooting at each other without aiming? "Whoops aiming is too hard!" Should we all just sit in the MCCs? "Eh, I'd jump out, but then I'd have to hit the inertia dampener or die!" Better yet, maybe we just shouldn't spawn at all. "Pushing one button is too hard!"
Yes, I goddamn try hard. I am on that field to win the fight, and make some ISK. Am I saying that you have to be OH SO SUPER SERIOUS? No! At the end of the day it still should be fun for you, and not another job. What I am saying is that it doesn't make sense to use "tryhard" as an insult. I suspect that it's just an excuse made up by people being stomped. "Oh, well I guess we're losing, but it's okay because I'm not even trying, and they're all trying so hard lololololololololo!!!!111OneONe"

When Dust was in its early stages = great game. Now its all jumpy the mass driver, tanks die waaaaay to fast now. Back then tanks had over 7000 hp. Now its ****. Many players now must be players after open beta. Now that very few veterans a tee left. We need to change this.
Make tanks stronger and let the mercs go run like dead animals.
Come on CPM make tanks strong again.
Also bring back the old variant tanks. The tanks now are a disgrace even Prototype. Only a CPU and PG get increased and no armor = what crap is that.

That's fine. You like to just run with however you can get your giggles. I respect that. However, I like winning, and knowing that I did everything in my power to push my team to that Victory screen. I think that is fun. What I'm saying though, is that it shouldn't be an insult to say that people are "try hards." At its core, trying hard isn't a bad thing.

It is an insult like bi**h. The insult is in the implied meaning rather than the actual meaning.
Actual meaning: "Of course I am trying my best. Are you saying you aren't? Then why are you mad?"
Implied meaning: Basically, "Make Love, Not Warcraft." "If we dedicate 21 hours a day for 16 months, we can totts be awesome!!"
Saying that someone is a "try hard" is not be be taken as "you are a female dog" but rather what the person who "cares waaayyy too much about an electronic form of entertainment" and all the implied things that go with that such as "fat", "anti-social", and having no life.
It can also be shorthand for "only using the most powerful tools" or being a slave to the meta. If this were Hearthstone, the insult would be "brainless net decking."

PLC's are waaaaay too much fun. Knocking snipers/roof campers off of roofs and fending off dropships are all WAAAY more fun with a PLC, though unfortunately the latter is much more challenging than most non-PLC users would think. I've nailed several normal dropships out of the sky, but I've only managed to kill about 10-12 ADSs in my entire time using it : /

Squadding up and using proto in pub matches instead of FW is not an achievement it just makes the game dull (for both teams) and makes the FW wait time long,
If that is the only thing you want to do then do it, dull players are better than nothing just don't think anyone is impressed. |
