I have a modestly fit Assault G/1.
I had it fit with a GEK because a DUVOLLE is too taxing.
But I can fit it with:
-CARTHUM ascr
-ISHUKONE arr
-SIX KIN acr
All of them are the other race's assault rifle knock-offs... at PROTO level!
It is bad enough the AR under performs tier to tier with the other assaults, but I can one up it with proto at a cheaper resource cost.
I have EVERY passive cpu/pg boosting skill MAXED OUT!!! But I can only fit an advanced AR.
Proto every other assault variant: no problem.
But only an advanced AR.
But wait, there's MORE!
I can also fit
-BOUNDLESS cr
- freakin LUIS MODIFIED cr!!!!!!!
OH, I'm not done yet!
I can fit a FRIGGIN EXPERIMENTAL ASSAULT COMBAT FRIGGIN RIFLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WITH 6/6 CPU/PG TO SPARE! 
But only an advanced AR.
On a gallente assault.
Why CCP? Why?

I thought the Carthum costed more?
That aside, I can fit everything proto (including a Kincat) on my Gk.0.
Only thing I had to sacrifice was the Grenade and equipment slots.
EDIT: The proto and 'new' officer weapons cost the same, same with experimental.

Although I don't have the numbers with me, I'm inclined to call bullshit.
Unless fitting costs for the carthum and ARR were reduced sometime in the past couple of weeks (escaping my notice) they're vastly higher than for the GEK.

Officer varients have the pro stats (pg/CPU)
I think your fitting it wrong. It should fit.
What's your fit??? The true Gallente assault fit is the following-
High- damage mods
Lows- Kincat, 2 ferroscale, 2 rep
Ar and ip
Flux
Scanner (equip can be whatever but I like scanner cuz Gallente)
It should all fit. If not..... Do you have the skill to proto? Or at least 4?

You miss the point. It is a demonstration of yet another reason why AR is inferior. CPU cost is too high.
I have to sacrifice other slots ONLY when I want to fit a Duvolle... on a Gallenete Assault.

My bad, for some reason my mind switched the enh plates with enh ferros. Seems you're right, at least according to protofits. Should be fixed one way or the other but at the same time you could drop the "I Win Button" for an M1 and will have space for the Duvolle & an upgrade to an enh rep.

This has nothing to do with CCP's opinion on the AR. OK, your infallible logic has swayed me.
No more proto on my adv fits.
From now on I'll run full proto GK0 assault in pubs.
Please read entire thread before posting, and brush up on reading comprehension skills. You will have noticed where I said I was running a GEK originally, and that I normally run CRD-9.
And to answer WHY:
Firstly, because I CAN!
Secondly, in the match where I attempted this fit there were a shitton of proto tryhards on the other team. I refuse to run full proto in pubs, but I WILL run proto rifles especially in this situation. So I try to fit the duvolle to see how well it fares against the stomp, but nope: use any other proto assault variant instead.

This isnt just a "**** you fit your suits better" problem, this is actually an imbalance in the game, CPU heavy fits have no CPU lite modules to act as filler like PG heavy fits do. If you max out on PG, you can still fit dampeners, energizers, rechargers, precision enhancers, regulators and flaylock have very low or nonexistant PG costs, etc. Meanwhile if I want to fit some shield regen on a suit with a plasma cannon, which is very CPU heavy, I have no CPU-0 modules I can use to fill out the fitting if I max out on CPU, so I am forced to downgrade modules into irrelevance. |

Your problem is the fit completely.
Change those plates for ferroscale OR (preferably) reactive plates
Swap at least one of your proto weapons for an advanced and that should do the trick.
Though you'd get much more from your suit if you stuck to all enhanced mods/weapons but keep the cores.
