I have a modestly fit Assault G/1.
I had it fit with a GEK because a DUVOLLE is too taxing.
But I can fit it with:
-CARTHUM ascr
-ISHUKONE arr
-SIX KIN acr
All of them are the other race's assault rifle knock-offs... at PROTO level!
It is bad enough the AR under performs tier to tier with the other assaults, but I can one up it with proto at a cheaper resource cost.
I have EVERY passive cpu/pg boosting skill MAXED OUT!!! But I can only fit an advanced AR.
Proto every other assault variant: no problem.
But only an advanced AR.
But wait, there's MORE!
I can also fit
-BOUNDLESS cr
- freakin LUIS MODIFIED cr!!!!!!!
OH, I'm not done yet!
I can fit a FRIGGIN EXPERIMENTAL ASSAULT COMBAT FRIGGIN RIFLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WITH 6/6 CPU/PG TO SPARE! 
But only an advanced AR.
On a gallente assault.
Why CCP? Why?

You miss the point. It is a demonstration of yet another reason why AR is inferior. CPU cost is too high.
I have to sacrifice other slots ONLY when I want to fit a Duvolle... on a Gallenete Assault.

This has nothing to do with CCP's opinion on the AR. OK, your infallible logic has swayed me.
No more proto on my adv fits.
From now on I'll run full proto GK0 assault in pubs.
Please read entire thread before posting, and brush up on reading comprehension skills. You will have noticed where I said I was running a GEK originally, and that I normally run CRD-9.
And to answer WHY:
Firstly, because I CAN!
Secondly, in the match where I attempted this fit there were a shitton of proto tryhards on the other team. I refuse to run full proto in pubs, but I WILL run proto rifles especially in this situation. So I try to fit the duvolle to see how well it fares against the stomp, but nope: use any other proto assault variant instead.
