One does not simply downgrade from PC master race to console peasant. A true console peasant is one who refuses to confess the greatness of the mater race and join the ranks.
Even having a PC does not make you part of the master race but it is a start to accepting that which is true and a beginning to the strive for greatness.

Consoles aren't dying anytime soon. The PS4 got 1 million on it's first day and continues to rise, there is still a steady support for console gaming. But I can sure that the next generation of consoles are going to adapt and you'll see a huge push for game streaming like we've seen with PS Now and Steams Console. Consoles will still be around for along time just not how we will remember them.

I would argue that Microsoft is showing signs of abandoning the console with everything they are dong with Xbox on windows 10.
Mobile gaming is hurting the casual player bases of all platforms leaving poor sales numbers with regards to overall uptake. Between that and console attempts to further monetize through subscription models developers are far more attracted to mobile and PC where they can get the most bang for their dev bucks. As more and more console hybrids come in allowing developers to optimize to base specs while being able to reach the entire PC crowd that potential revenue versus expense ratio will shift even more phasing out consoles almost entirely.
Lets face it console only players biggest argument is that they would rather just kick back with a controller and it is becoming more and more true that doing that on PC is perfectly possible without feeling like you are at a disadvantage or missing out on anything.

There are quite a few charts, graphs, sales numbers, and expert analysis who all say this. Anything I post people will just say I am cherry picking data so I would first encourage you to do a bit of googling on your own to form your own opinion. I suggest you first look into basic revenue numbers of all 3 industries as a whole to get a basic idea of the shift that is happening.

Yes I do agree we will see a decline in console development and on some users. The thing is we won't see it as rapidly as most claim. Anyways I can totally see Microsoft dropping the console market in the next couple generations or at least stepping away support from it because they can afford the loss, but Sony is completely dependent on PS ecosystem to be alive as a company.

One thing I would like to add that we can all agree on is that many games including Dust have taken to copying the mobile monetization models.
While this does not directly support anything I said about mobile or PC gaming it points to a fundamental shift occurring which mobile games would seem to be at the forefront of. This means that at the end of the day revenues could be skewed by nothing more than better monetizing of customers.
To get a better understanding after looking at basic revenue numbers look into specifically tablet sales and their estimated usage for gaming. Even those numbers have started to pass up any consoles based on where you are getting your information from. These are often the casual gamers who are looking for a bit more from their experience than their phone can provide.
The simple question you have to ask yourself on that is if a person is willing to commit to a console for just the fact of being able to kick back with their controller would they not be just as or more likely to commit to a tablet for their gaming so that they can just lay down in bed as well as take their games absolutely every where.

Keep the platform/hardwares standardized and the game quality stays reliable and consistent. Case in point-I have an Android phone, Android being a very open platform for individual coders to create content for. The Play Store is FULL of various games and apps. And, guess what- 95% of them are ******* trash. Absolute **** that wants to access every little detail of my existence to be installed/run. Because anyone can script an app. PC Master race? Yeah right. Quick evolution lesson, the PC far outdates the console in terms of development. If PCs for gaming were that great then consoles would have never been created let alone become a competitive market. I got out of PC gaming YEARS ago and have never looked back.

Extremely valid point about Sony and one that reinforces my point about the existence of consoles in general. Sony makes computers and has for a long time. And they also make our consoles. And will for a long time. A lot of people slam Sony products for various reasons but all too often neglect Sony's long history of innovation, innovation that includes part of an excellent replacement for "gaming PCs".

Sony is the largest media distributor in the world, have been for a loooong time. If PS$ is anywhere near that $$ Sony and console gaming will be here for a very long time.

This I can agree with. Yes I am for the Xbone and I do enjoy games on my PS3. However I am a PC boy at heart and the PC Master Race shall live on through my children who will learn to game on a PC before a console.

Fun fact: Nintendo was the first to create a PlayStation and worked with Sony. The Nintendo PlayStation was going to be both a disc based system AND a cartridge system for your old SNES and NES games. The reason why we never saw it was because Sony wanted more money even though they were getting a lot of money for it in the firstplace. So Nintendo and Sony split and now we have the Wii and the PlayStation.
So we should really be thanking Nintendo for Sony going into consoles and Sony has always been greedy.

Anyways I can totally see Microsoft dropping the console market in the next couple generations or at least stepping away support from it because they can afford the loss, but Sony is completely dependent on PS ecosystem to be alive as a company.
Sony is just as stable outside of the console game as microsoft is, if not more. The playstation is just one of hundreds of pieces of hardware that Sony makes. They could just as easily switch to gaming tablets and create a PSN type system for those since they already create phones and tablets. Thats not even mentioning the software and media aspects of Sony. Currently they're giving their smartphone market another shot, they've also dropped PCs and SOE and possibly will slow their TV production. They already tried that Mobile PSN thing that you mentioned and have also shut it down. Right now I believe they said PS is their largest profit market alongside Music and Movie divisions. Edit: And their cameras of course Sony is the largest media distributor in the world, have been for a loooong time. If PS$ is anywhere near that $$ Sony and console gaming will be here for a very long time. Fun fact: Nintendo was the first to create a PlayStation and worked with Sony. When Nintendo came up with he idea for the PlayStation, Sony was chosen to help manufacturer it. However because of their greed theybsplit and Nintendo went with Philips for the manufacturing. So if it wasn't for Nintendo, Sony would of never gotten into the console business.
Also Nintendo was a console not a computer. And the Wii was a fail, but the Wii U is amazing and has awesome exckusives. Splatoon is glorious, LoZ is amazing, and Mario need I say more? Also last I checked, the Nintendo still makes the most popular hand held gaming system.

Compareing thr PlayStation and the Wii was comparing modern variations of their consoles and a DS is way better than a smartphone or tablet when it comes to gaming. That evoloved from the Gameboy, again one of the best handheld gaming systems.

The name playsation and the overall design was infact done by Sony. But the idea of a system to play both disc and cartridge games as well as the devopoment side for it came from Nintendo. The profit was to be split evenly but Sony demanded more and they claimed the name PlayStation as it was their idea. This was between 1988 and 1991.

The Counter-Strike franchise pre-dates Call of Duty by 4 years (original CS was a mod of Half-Life back in 1999, CoD was realease in 2003) and it is considered one of the best FPS of all time. Also there have been tournaments for CS for years. The port didn't take because the 12 year old fan boys couldn't understand that you can't just run into a group guns blazing and expect to kill them all.

Doesn't excuse that it is still basically just COD4 Hardcore SnD with microtransactions. I don't care who did what first. At this point they are cloning eachother and themselves. Yes but the reguritation originated from Counter Strike the Half-Life mod and was the first of its kind (excluding DOOm Quake and Wolfenstein). Technically, COD4 Hardcore came from Counter Strike as the original only had one mode until other people modded the mod to create Deathmatch, Zombies, Warcraft Mod (which was fun as hell) and many other mods.
They are not guilty if they are updating their old game with new graphics and features. That would be like saying WoW: Legion is reguritating WoW: Burning Crusade as they both deal with Illidan and the Burning Legion.

Haha, I got myself in a fix with the Imperials and they keep attacking one of my wooden castles with their half stacked armies. Only got about 5 units there(one has less than 10 men) keep weekend unit at the walls, 2 infantry at the gate in circle formation and Cavalry outside to force invaders to rout.
But horse archers are my bane, haven't found an efficient way to kill them without using bait.

The point about portables is less about better and more about crowded. The more options there are, the more diluted the earnings become. So to generate the product must stand out. Personally I havent seen a game ever on the DS that I wojld buy one for. I have run games on my various phones tho. Why? Because I love gaming, own phones that I can game on and in those idle moments when a portable game would be nice all it takes is a couple swipes through the google store.

Really? Then why is it people atill refer to the GB GBC and the GBA instead of Sega's GG when talking about hand held systems of the past?
Also the Wii is the most RECENT nintendo system. There was the N64 in the nineties which introduced the rumblepack and rumble features in games, Nintento Game Cube which was compatible with a GBA and had some amazing games on it then the Wii which had backwards compatability with Game Cube games, something the PS3 never had, then the Wii U which has some amazing exclusives compared to the PS4.

The way I see it is that consoles are for people who want to play games with friends without a hassle, and pc is for people who want to a little more out of their games and have the technical knowledge to run their games at high quality,but the problem is too many of these pc folk get a huge bloody ego about pc master race stuff.

Hell there are some mods that even became games themselves (Counter-Strike, XCOM 2 (most the "new" stuff is from the Long War mod), Team Fortress 2 (Team fortress Classsic was a Half-Life Mod)). Some help improve the mechanics or even benefit the gamer without cheating or breaking the game (the mods for WoW).
Also some mods add content to the game or even fix broken mechanics. Mods are brilliant.

You pretty much turn minecraft into call of duty just to have fun.... you don't need to be on minecraft.

Some people like that. For me, I prefer vanilla Minecraft with the Towny server mod and Bukkit's MMO server mod. Adds a bit more to it. Also there is talks about future console games getting the ability to mod. Fallout 4 for example, and talks that when the new DOOM game comes out it may be modable on consoles. (According to rumours)
Mods are great.

Sony wanted more money, they didn't care about the obsolete format or anything. They carried on the PlayStation without the SNES attachment but it took them another 3 years to finish devolping it. The fact that they turned down an innovative company shows how flawed they were back in the 90s. Um last I checked Gamegear was no where near as successful as the Gameboy. Also saying or implying that tablets and phones are better for gaming is just plain stupidity. Sony wanted more money, ok. They also, after severing ties, were in-market with their Playstation years ahead of the Wii. Thats a good indicator of who was actually doing the work in that relationship. The point about portables is less about better and more about crowded. The more options there are, the more diluted the earnings become. So to generate the product must stand out. Personally I havent seen a game ever on the DS that I wojld buy one for. I have run games on my various phones tho. Why? Because I love gaming, own phones that I can game on and in those idle moments when a portable game would be nice all it takes is a couple swipes through the google store. And the GameGear smoked the GameBoy. Sega just did the one whereas Nintendo kept going with theirs. Really? Then why is it people atill refer to the GB GBC and the GBA instead of Sega's GG when talking about hand held systems of the past? Also the Wii is the most RECENT nintendo system. There was the N64 in the nineties which introduced the rumblepack and rumble features in games, Nintento Game Cube which was compatible with a GBA and had some amazing games on it then the Wii which had backwards compatability with Game Cube games, something the PS3 never had, then the Wii U which has some amazing exclusives compared to the PS4 Edit: Come to think of it, Nintendo has made some great innovations for games and gaming in general.
For all those innovations tho, hell especially when considering all those innovations, Nintendo just doesn't pull results like the Playstation. "People" probably talk about GBC and GBA because, as I said, The GameGear was gone already by the time those were introduced, if I had to guess shed as Sega went for the Dreamcast and w/e replacement they may have planned dropped in light of the DCs lackluster sales after release. But, while it was out the GameGear pwnd GameBoy. 4 words: Portable Color Mortal Combat.
Yeah, Nintendo's been a huge innovator for gaming. Thats part of the disappointment with the Wii- NES motion control has been available since the original NES (PowerGlove, anybody? How about the UForce? Even tho it was 3rd party) so that the Wii now had motion contollers is anticlimatic to say the least. Wii, on release, needed to be more like the Kinect and that it wasn't sealed its doom it even with a couple great exclusives.
