The Amarr Empire has issued four global missions to commemorate the recent events in New Eden, and gear up mercenaries on the ground with ISK, AUR and a special issue SKIN Module.
Event Period: Sept 15 11:00 UTC - Sept 25 11:00 UTC.
During this time period, players will encounter 3 persistent, unique, and un-rerollable daily missions. These will be:
GÇóEarn 2500 War Points. Reward: 15.000 Skill Points.
GÇóAchieve 150 Kills. Reward: 25.000 Skill Points + 50.000 ISK.
GÇóFinish 5 battles. Reward: 35.000 Skill Points + 150.000 ISK.
Bonus Reward: Complete 5 Daily Missions and receive 500 AUR each day.
On top of these missions, show your loyalty to the Empire during tragic and troubled times:
GÇóWin 30 battles during this event period (10 days) and receive unique 'Deathshroud' Amarr Medium SKIN module.

Sounds good. I like the link to EVE. Missions that encourage playing properly. Discouraging match leaving. Range of difficulty. Though surely 150 kills is much harder than finishing 5 matches.
Skin looks great.
Slightly uninspiring event gameplay. Essentially just play the game, try to win.
Perhaps kills with Amarr weapons or against Amarr dropsuits would have been more interesting. Though I imagine people would moan about "fairness". |

I'm really dissapointed.
It's not even about the rewards, they're OK.
It's about how fluxing boring this event is, you don't even have to do anything else that you normally do.
Just play, youll get the wins and kills eventually.. Maybe it's time we had a meaningful event? You guys had a lot of feedback and great ideas but you still choose to give us this POS |

And as Varoth said: surely 150 kills is much harder than finishing 5 matches
So basically, for me at least being your average-skilled vet, if I kill 150 mercs per day, I will get all of these rewards, coz I guarantee you I need at least 5 battles to kill that many, and averaging the minimum required to kill that many across 5 battles is surely going to easily net 2500 WP?
Might have to unpack an active booster or two :)

the whole point of this event, is to avenge the death of the amarrian empress jamyl, I don't follow eve or lore but I just clicked the links on the event page and I love how it ties up with EVE.
EVE pilots always want to talk to DUSTies, they always o7 in local, this is for us but this is for them.
Let's get revenge, it doesn't matter how many MLT players we kill with PRO and OFFICER because that skin is shiny god dammit!

These missions are persistent - which means that if you kill 150 dudes the first day, you can't do it again the second day...

Sorry, guy, you're probably reading wrong. Those events can only be completed once. You've just got ten days to do 'em. It's just like the Krin's Salvage event. A bunch of slightly more difficult missions you just have a lot more time to complete. |

I'm sure I remember you being decent, my KD is 3.3 and weekly monthly can be 5-8.0 it depends.

To be fair , you already had a comment from someone stating these were some to grind and people leaving matches should be discouraged by the construct of the guidelines required for the event and their giving SP's as well .
Events should encourage play .
The tie in with EVE is needed now if you could actually get more pilots involved during a FW event then things would be better and if matches ran without the usual glitches and hickup's then that would be great .
Hopefully we wont have many issues during this event .
I don't see it as being a grind and actually easy to do and I might make a alt with all the SP's their given .
That was a bonus in my eyes , not the suit ... I'm Caldari and contrary to belief , I could give a frack about Amarr and care more about Min's .

Nah, if Factionals count for a win then I'm pretty sure you can just hang out on the Amarr side and rake in those wins. There's gonna be a lot of Amarr pride going on. The only trouble will be getting the Minmatar loyalists to peek out long enough to shoot at them. I'll log onto an alt and bum around in Min FW to give you guys more heads to pop. |

I rarely squad and I don't have that bad of luck , even Q's ... I'll fight threw them but I do have my share of spankings though .

Sooo...I'm reading this as a possible aggregate of: 75K SP per day 200K ISK per day And as Varoth said: surely 150 kills is much harder than finishing 5 matches So basically, for me at least being your average-skilled vet, if I kill 150 mercs per day, I will get all of these rewards, coz I guarantee you I need at least 5 battles to kill that many, and averaging the minimum required to kill that many across 5 battles is surely going to easily net 2500 WP? Might have to unpack an active booster or two :) I will break the 150 kill mark in 3 matches, this shouldn't be a challenge for anyone, especially not with the might of the amarr dropsuit and the power of the scrambler rifle at our disposal. 2500wp will be achieved in 1 battle. Good for you, but not everyone is gonna have that stuff skilled up, plus you're clearly above-average (or am I actually below average LMAO) I dunno I think I've come across you before, this is a logi account which always goes negative though. I'm sure I remember you being decent, my KD is 3.3 and weekly monthly can be 5-8.0 it depends. everyone is going to be trying hard, there will be a lot of competition and a LOT of ak0 and viziam spam
If by decent you mean sticking a nova knife in your ear every now and then then yeah :-p

I like the idea of just playing 30 games... means I don't have to depend on dumb@$$es that will ignore objectives they are standing by and run around for kills only. We had a 70 clone lead the other day and lost by 5 seconds cause of this foolishness.

Nice skin, but you need to up the SP and ISK payouts for the persistent missions dramatically. Yeah, they're easy, but they pay out less than many regular dailies, which makes them feel decidedly un-special.

Slightly uninspiring event gameplay. Essentially just play the game, try to win.
Perhaps kills with Amarr weapons or against Amarr dropsuits would have been more interesting. Though I imagine people would moan about "fairness".

Glad you think you can do it in a single day, because these missions reset each day and are repeatable. You will have to get 150 kills every single day to get more rewards for the mission. Best of luck to you o7 !

You can use any suit, you can get your wins in pubs, if you like. Rattati said he wasn't sure if Factionals counted toward the wins you need for the SKIN, but he'd check on it. I'd really, seriously hope so, because it is literally an Amarr event in the name of their Empress. It'd make sense to make this at least partially about the Factionals.
It's happened once or twice someone couldn't pay the price, and I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals.

I was trying to be funny but in a sarcastic way. Wow everyone here did get to you even though you threw the mud first.
Ok, this is the break down of events because you are mad that people are mad at you:
1. CCP was begged for an event and is providing it - People want to be happy so this game stays positive
2. Forum trolls (Sorry, you are in this group, just targeting CCP not posters) come out and say "Awe man, why are we doing this when we could be doing something to improve the game."
3. That winds up the people who like this event because you pretty much called their girlfriend fat and are mad someone punched you in the face.
We could have gotten another million clone challenge. That would have been aweful. This is CCP saying they can't make hotfixes every month, but they can drive events with incentives to play for game enhancements.
The question is, why is it so important that CCP does what you want?
You have yet to clearly provide them with an alternative event that is within reason.
You sit back and eat your free ice cream cone and complain that the new flavor is just chocolate ice cream with heath chips on it and you really want a better cone.
Long story short, go be positive because negative has made this forum what it is. Show some class dude.

1. Thank you for including DUST 514 in the Happenings of EVE Online - especially since the faction that I love and support was affected so tragically. Even though the two games are not well integrated It was pretty cool to earn a shroud of mourning for the death of the empress to at least feel like I was participating in my own way.
2. I felt that the rewards covered the spectrum of players, the hard core and the casual. The 150 kills is an impossible task for me, but I could get some of the others. The 30 wins was particularly difficult for me. It was a personal trial as well. I like this game. And every battle I play I put my best out on the field so that whether my team wins or looses I can walk away knowing I did all that I could. But my best didn't matter in the challenge that mattered to me the most. As much as I supported my team, my strength alone in battle was often not enough to stem the tide of stomping.
My role as a Logibro is to be whatever the team needs for battle. Uplinks, hives, reps, scans, face shooting, repairs, whatever. I run the whole gambit of options open to me. I choose this role because it is what I enjoy most. But, because this challenge was not in doing my best or what was best for the team but winning and winning only; it was a challenge to stay engaged when my team was being crushed and there was no possibility of winning. Against evenly matched teams it was more of a let down when it came down to the last few seconds and we lost - all that fighting and effort wasted -, but when we were crushed it was more of a "why bother". It stopped being fun for me, and I hated that. I hated that winning was all that mattered to me - I've never been that person. And when it is against insurmountable odds I really had to wonder about the matchmaking formula and if it is finding balance. I want to enter games with a 50/50 chance of winning, but I still walk away from most of my recent months of play with the MU matchmaking with a 60-70% loss rate. When I'm having fun, that is of little consequence. I still get paid, and I can still play.
Yet, I began leaving battles. Near the end when it was just a waste of time - I haven't done that in years, yet I did it about 10 or 12 times because I didn't have more RL time to play and I couldn't waste what little play time I had. I became selfish. I hated the stomping and yet prayed to be on the winning side. I pitied those that were trampled, and knew I was likely to be among them in the next round.
All of this to say: It was a good challenge, yet the matchmaking... it is complex enough that I cannot offer valuable input when considering all the variables like player base, MU score, etc.
I confess that I failed my team, and worse I failed myself with that kind of behavior. I never want to be that guy again, and have decided to shore up that weakness. Never again will I place winning above having a good time - rewards be damned.
For what good are those riches when I loose my soul in order to gain them? It is not a price I will pay again.
