Welcome mercenaries to the Commando's Corner. This will be the equivalent of "The Barbershop" for scouts, "The Triage Ward" for logistics, and "The Bastion" for the Sentinels. Here we will discuss Commandos, what they are, how they're used and what they are meant to be. This will also be a place for having fun with other people and making fun of other people, so don't be afraid to go off topic if you got something on your mind.

My name is XxBlazikenxX, a long time player of this game and I will tell you how I have learned to love the Commando. In the beginning of this game, I made a lot of choices, some good, mostly bad. I finally purchased a respec, allowing me a second chance. One of the suits I wanted to skill into was the Amarr Commando, as I wanted to try out laser weaponry and I felt that Amarr Assaults were too FOTM. I immediately fell in love with it and have been using it ever since. In fact, my lifetime KDR raised from 0.97 to 1.06 in the course of a week.
I feel that the Commandos are meant to be the ones prepared for anything. If someone says "I need area denial and swarms!" a Minmatar Commando should come rushing out with a Mass Driver and Swarms. If someone says "I need help clearing the point!" a Commando comes running with dual Combat Rifles a full damage mods and so on and so forth. So discuss and have fun while doing it!

I would love to get that Paladin, but I can't find anyone who has it (and is willing to trade/sell it). I wouldn't ask for your Paladin because you use it of course.

Before I go to bed, I will pose a question and see what type of responses I get. Do you think a Light Weapon PG/CPU reduction included in the Commando's dropsuit bonus would be good for it?

I love the Storm Raiders, I'm currently conflicted on whether I want it back to the way it was before 1.2, because now I can actually fit all proto on it including two comp damage mods.

Nah, don't think so. Also, it'd make it basically the same bonus as an assault, which is meh.

A very good point, I feel that the Commando is a unique suit and making it like an assault is making it less unique.

Disclaimer: This was not me being arrogant, this was me proving a point to one of my logi friends, okay maybe I'm being a little arrogant. Also 50k for every two matches you are in with me, not much I know but me running proto the entire weekend means a loss of about 20 mil if I'm lucky, 40 mil if not so lucky.

All racial commando suits trained to 5.
Not really a sniper (terrible at it) or mass driver guy (tho I do sometimes) but I like my swarms and combat rifle... and rails and scramblers and lasers. Mostly I run around and shoot lots of bullets... (oh, I also have a shotgun.)
But aye, am commando since the time the basic Amarr suit had no low slot.

By its base stats, yes. It has horrible, horrible regen stats so it isn't meant for peeking out of cover over and over. It can get bm rushed after enough peek a boo engagements and will be caught with low shields. I haven't tried the new update, but when i do, i will push for as low shield depeleted times as possible.
