This will be the equivalent of "The Barbershop" for scouts, "The Triage Ward" for logistics, and "The Bastion" for the Sentinels. Here we will discuss Commandos, what they are, how they're used and what they are meant to be. This will also be a place for having fun with other people and making fun of other people, so don't be afraid to go off topic if you got something on your mind. "A Commando is not just your grunt assault nor your brick tanked heavy, it is not just one soldier on the battlefield, it is an asset to your team, and used correctly in coordination with your team, it will win the match." - Myself My name is XxBlazikenxX, a long time player of this game and I will tell you how I have learned to love the Commando. In the beginning of this game, I made a lot of choices, some good, mostly bad. I finally purchased a respec, allowing me a second chance. One of the suits I wanted to skill into was the Amarr Commando, as I wanted to try out laser weaponry and I felt that Amarr Assaults were too FOTM. I immediately fell in love with it and have been using it ever since. In fact, my lifetime KDR raised from 0.97 to 1.06 in the course of a week. I feel that the Commandos are meant to be the ones prepared for anything. If someone says "I need area denial and swarms!" a Minmatar Commando should come rushing out with a Mass Driver and Swarms. If someone says "I need help clearing the point!" a Commando comes running with dual Combat Rifles a full damage mods and so on and so forth. So discuss and have fun while doing it! Also, it'd make it basically the same bonus as an assault, which is meh. A very good point, I feel that the Commando is a unique suit and making it like an assault is making it less unique. Being a logi is a support role you have to have different fits for different things knowing your squad. So say you're doing fw (4-8 players in a squad) Say you have 8 now this 8 man squad consists of 4 logis 2 assaults and 2 heavys... 2 logis only have ADV and the other 2 have proto... the proto one can carry everything needle hive uplink rep tool. So they can run a needle and the other 2 can run hives/uplinks and maybe a scanner. Now you have pretty much everything you need. You know where the enemy is you have 2 people for revivals and you have more than enough links and hives for throughout the whole map. All i'm saying is if I see a assault or commando even help out by playing a support via droping hives or helping me out with revivals i'm giving that person a thank you and 1mil isk. Also Logis need to change their setup depending on what they have in the squad. Let's say it's a fireteam this time. 2 logis 1 assault and 1 sent. Both logis only have adv... So one of them needs to change their hive with a needle and the other one needs to keep his/her hive. Thus you have what you need again. That's why I said "usually" CCP Archduke is the best GM

The suit itself has a high recharge delay, which can be brought down, but not to a satisfactory level. Not very impressive hP combined with inferior mobility weakens it in almost any case, but especially against Scramblers, while not having the resistances like the Sentinel. It can't get back into cover as quickly. Not a whole lot of weapons to choose from. I don't want to snipe in a redline, and if I do snipe I'll most definitely be picked up due to signature. So if you were to buff it would you buff the delay, HP, movement speed, or the profile signature? CCP Archduke is the best GM

I remember when I first went pro Commando, it was Amarr, and I had no idea what the heck was wrong with me. I had all the gear, all the weaponry, yet still outclassed by assaults in 1v1. I ragequitted Dust for a couple months, came back, and decided to start anew. I deleted my old character, and went through a month long period trying to find my fit. I tried everything, min scout, gal sentinel, amarr assault, heck, even cal logi, but could never seem to grow used to it. Finally, I got a skill reset and was about use it on the amarr sentinel when my finger accidently slipped and it went up to the Amarr Commando. Right then and there I remembered what I wanted to be skilled in. And I skilled into the Amarr Commando and from then on have not once skilled into anything other than the Commando. I am so inspired by your story that I think we should try to bring "Commando Squadron" back. 6 Commandos in a squad was a feat that will forever be marked in Commando history, now, let's get a full 16 man q sync of Commandos and show the Dust universe why we love what we do. The Commando class would certainly welcome an eWar advantage, but that's not a race specific question. I would buff the delays of all shield commandos and buff the Calmando's base movement speed. Alright then! I want to make an up-to-date guide on all four Commandos but I'm going to need some help. PLC/Swarms is good for when you are on a high point where it would be difficult to get you from and there are a lot of ADS's in the area, especially in PC. Does anyone have a decent Mk.0 swarm fitting? I fit my ADV Minmando with three complex light damage mods, swarms and a PLC, and anything else I can manage really. HP is useful in that hulking blind vehicle killer...and forget trying to fight infantry in that fit...but that's min-maxing for the situation so.... I would exchange the PLC with a ACR bcuz they get a damage bonus with the Minmando... Atleast you can defend yourself while helping out with annoying vehicles... PLC/Swarms is good for when you are on a high point where it would be difficult to get you from and there are a lot of ADS's in the area, especially in PC. ACR/Swarms would be good if you are on the ground fighting with a group. Like I said, that's a min-max fit. A rifle may be useful when you don't have enough blue backup. Yep. Calmando + Sniper Rifle + Swarms = Rooftop Camper. Plus, lots and lots of players have skilled Minmando strictly because of the Swarm bonus; I imagine a switcheroo would tick off the vast majority of those players. You'd need a really good reason to do that. 2. Not sure one way or the other on the details above, but my AM Commando does feel kinda tight on resources. For instance, I can fit max damage amps and ferros, 2 Advanced ARs plus a proto hive on my Galmando. I can run the same loadout with two Advanced CRs on my Minmando. But when I fit my AM Commando with the same loadout and Advanced 2 ScRs, I can't fit any hive at all (not even a compact hive). Is this to be expected? 1. It's only for racial parity, nothing else. It's not like the Minmatar scout where it gets a bonus to knives specifiably. Bittervet

And most of all you want to stick with a squad at all times. A commando is a force multiplier, it does well in a group of people but going solo is harder to manage. What are some guidelines I should follow for fitting the suit up? Damage mods + mobility? Is it fine to rely on the suits natural tank for the most part, maybe chucking a rep on if there's no logi? What's the idea for the Shotgun + Shotgun fit? Is it so you can empty the mag then swap guns and empty another mag? e. What about equipment? I was thinking a rep hive? Equipment should be either a guaged nanohive or a rep hive. As for fittings I would put at least one kin cat on all your shotgun fits.
