@Starlight Burner: The hardware maintenance will help with all your games, and the software/internet tricks will work for all your online games. Bit of a bother the first time, but a healthy habit to acquire for consoles and computers alike.

Its not to help people even if the point of my thread is a way of doing that. If you're dissatisfied with that then make your own thread to "help people". Although I agree the information I provide should be as accurate as possible, and have revised my post for that purpose. Screw your dictionary, I'll go back and check that defrag video and if you want to drop an OB on me drop OBs for GFW and MFW long enough and you're bound to get me eventually. This will temporarily reduce problems. Also, avoid to do : go into and out of th+¬ city too often during a game, it often creates a lot of bug. I do not know but I know it works lol Finally, to best reduce latency on your TV, if you can, try to disable the options related to improving the image: dynamic contrast, filter... I also believe that connect the PS3 controller with the cable to the console also reduces the latency of commands (personal impression). This lead into 'unload' everything and load again when PS3 rendering fast changing scenes. If there is crapy 'code' you degrade PS3 RAM fast and this lead to crasches or not responding game. Change your stacked HDD. And one more: SSD here is treated as HDD, because of first sata interface. PS3 do not support full potential of SSD and treat it rather harsh. I used 7200HDD about 3 years now. I don't get overheat (if someone is concered) 2. Defrag not help that much like you mention. PS3 has 'linux' based file table - it work different. Defrag is good but rather with old Windows/DOS with FAT32/ first NTFS file tables.. 3. Reinstaling games: - I use my Dust build at HDD (7200 rpm) about 3 years. Amount of lags that we get in beta is nothing to compare as today. All old files don't cost me more lag. - Two weeks ago I changed HDD 7200 rpm to SDD. Not much (in my opinion) improvement at fresh files and only one game at PS3. 4. Modern HDTV. Most LCD with toon of electronics that enchances visuals ;) No one mention about time that TV need to do it. My advise. Use fast monitors. - At TV try trun off every 'enchancer'(more and more comes with 'game mode' - that help). Even so average monitor give you less input lag and this lead to be more responsible. 5. Connection/Internet :) My advise anywhere and always via cable. Any wireles conection can give you 'spike lag' by default. That is not matter overal speed. Ping is important. And you can get same ping at low speed conection as at fast. Also try choose conection with higer upload transfers. This help to. 8 MB/s today is enough for transfers FHD videos and this is plenty for online gaming... if you have good ping to game server. Fastest conections come with better hardware that by default lower your ping (localy)... but if you have chance to choose your connection, test it fully and choose it by ping to game server. Thx for read this. And remeber hardware is nothing if you can't shoot ;) Not much time left...

Will let you know how it performs when I'm back and have it installed.
