To give you a better idea of how good it is, I do not get unplayable fps lag ever since I got it. Not even on the lag facility map, even when it was in PC.
People accuse me of lag switching very often because of it. "I'm lagging and you clearly aren't, you're lag switching qq" is the gist of most hate mail I get. Will any SSD work or do you need a specific kind?
Considering SSD`s are usually in the 2.5inch form factor, they should slot right in like a harddrive. I do remember reading though that the PS3 architecture can only benefit to a certain extent from an SSD so I would suggest that you dont need the fastest most expensive badass one, unless you plan to reuse it in another system later down the line.

Up until I was 16 I had only dial-up. 12 kb/s on a good day. Then we moved and were able to get 60 kb/s. Had that until I was 21. Was finally able to move out on my own and I've got 200 kb/s. 24 now. And less than 8 mb/s is a potato. I really like how we're now able to say that less than 8 mb/s is basically a piece of **** when hardly any time ago even 1 mb/s seemed like a far off fantasy. Also thank you, I'll try these things and see how much they improve the game for me. Sorry I'm talking about megabits per second not megabytes per second I should have clarified.
Blame companies for misleading information regarding MegaBytes and MegaBits.... especially internet service providers.

This type of lag is caused because TV wants to show screen at highest quality which takes some time do improve image. This type of lag makes playing dust UNPLAYABLE as you LITERALY can not aim because you don't know what the person will do. That valuable second or two of lag means life or death.
If you have ever seen me playing and I go negative, I'm using HDTV and I justvtry to run slave medic or links/hives This! This must be whats happening to me, I got new hd tv, and have hd cord, sometimes dust is literally unplayable. When it starts I dnt even stand a chance against the scrubbiest of noobs. YES. When you move with right stick, there is like a half second delay for it to appear on screen and that makes it unplayable as you would have to predict what enemy will do to move before but you can't. I wasn't aware of this at all. Is this a problem with HD TVs themselves, or using the HD cord? Would using regular ol' AV cables fix this? Bought this monitor two years ago solely for dust since i was 100% sure that i was going to invest heavy time. The change was my biggest upgrade yet along with my SSD. Paired all two with 480p and you got yourself the best set up available for dust as far it can allow. Ben q monitor
Input delay, that must be something to do with my previous tests running at 480p and noticing a much improved feel (at least for KB/M) I assume that same delay applies to DS3 controllers as well.

Thanks for the heads up and information. Useful but is certainly no way to guarantee that you do not get FPS drops still as well as all of the other problems.
We are in 2015.... we should never have to do such things. The game is basic, our phones could probably run the damn thing better than the PS3.
This alone really pisses me off about DUST and CCP do absolutely nothing to even address it. There was talk some weeks ago about improving performance and testing but what ever happened to the results of that?
Half a job CCP.
This is the turning point, the rising of the tide.
