Ah, I see a lot of those are from last year.
I've been working on my coming to the forum after getting pissed after a bad match with blues for about three months now.
I thought I've been doing pretty good.
But, yeah. If that's you're only gripe with me is my anger issues which I'm working on then id say that's pretty good.
You have your own personal problem with me and its pretty known, but it should stay between you and me only.
On top of that a lot of these post are when I was and 18. That's a dramatic jump from where I am now at 20.

And yeah, I wouldn't hold posts from 2013 against someone today. I'm sure campaign season will give more than enough reasons to separate the wheat from the chaff. ;D

I've only recently posted concerns about him and only as it relates his candidacy. I'd express the same concerns about any other candidate who openly and repeatedly calls his constituents idiots.
There's a chance he's grown up and suddenly developed a lesser sense of self. There's also a chance he actually believes what he's been saying about us for the past 3 years.
I, for one, am not buying sudden change in disposition. And after Zatara and Judge, I think we as a Community would do well to better vet those we'd elect to speak for us.

Well, everyone has to grow up sometime. Between 18 and 20 is a common time frame for it to happen. Although I have seen it happen to some people as early as 12 (usually due to very challenging circumstances), and have seen others in their late 30's who have not grown up yet (often due to being spoiled and still living at home).

The posts were returned on the search word "community". There are likely dozens (possibly hundreds) of other posts to the same effect which happen to lack the word "community". Assuming we had a complete record of all the instances where Sgt Kirk calls other people idiots (or the equivalent) we could take those instances and plot them over time. If Sgt Kirk grew up instantly, we'd be able to see exactly when that happened. If he is growing up gradually, we'd see a gradual decline over time. It'd also be pretty cool to see this behavioral trend line plotted against those of other candidates.

As always Fox, your input is measured and inspiring.
Kirk is way better than I was at his age. It took moving to CA and Seattle and the people I roomed with to really improve the most glaring of my flaws, and although they are nowhere near eradicated even today, just the maturity Kirk has shown by choosing to avoid self justifying is telling.
It would be so easy for him to simply try and put others down and try to bring people down to make himself look better, but I know Kirk and he knows he can and must expect to change and improve throughout his life.
This thread originated with tasteless intentions but I applaud Kirk for doing a damn fine job by taking it in stride and not becoming defensive and attempting to justify himself.
Hell I've written way worse things on the forums lol but outside the realms of bias I think you would be hard pressed to say that those statements were characteristic of my contributions as a CPM.
Keep it up Kirk. Continue improving and being humble enough to change for the better and you'll go far.

Because it is inflamatory, instead of constructive.
You're intentions couldn't be clearer.
It was always extremely clear to me when I was running for CPM those people who were here only to attempt to showcase my flaws and find any avenue in order to attempt to damage my candidacy and those who honestly came to me with concerns about who I was and what i was about.
Almost every people who was truly interested in figuring out if I was worthy of their vote despite my frailties came to me privately with constructive criticism and meaningful concerns, not lambasting posts seeking to highlight my weaknesses.
I was contacted by over 30 people on skype and email with a far range of concerns.
When sincere people used to forums to determine if i was someone they wanted to support they asked me why they should vote for me, checked out my vote match, and many other things.
But what of the ones who were obviously only there to bring me down? Look at Sota's comments as a prime example on my CPM campaign thread. He wasn't sincerely inquiring....he was there to be a stumbling block.
At worst the least you could do is simply promote the candidates you feel are worth your time, at best be open minded enough to get past your bias.
But simply targeting a candidate you don't like trying to showcase flaws?
If you can't see the difference between "Why should I vote for you, I am really concerned about X" vs "This is who this guy is and **** he did, yeah **** him as a candidate"
Kirk is so much more than the one dimensional flaws you purposed this thread to highlight and put put him on blast about.

You're incorrect to assume that I dislike Kirk, or that this thread has anything to do with disliking Kirk. Kirk and I have had very few dealings, and I've no reason to dislike him. I do, however, dislike some of things he has said about our Community.
The fact that some of Kirk's comments might be considered inflammatory is all the more reason to bring them to light. Kirk's comments were made here, publicly, on the Forums. His comments were not exchanged privately or in confidence, nor are they being misrepresented in any way. These are Kirk's thoughts, and these are Kirk's words. Verbatim.
As I see it, the Community has every right to call into question the post histories of those running for CPM. These are people we are picking to represent us; getting to know them better is constructive, productive and absolutely pertinent to the election process. There is nothing inflammatory about vetting candidates, and without our vetting, all we have to go on are the pretty words candidates part with during election season.
Does the Community not have the right (and responsibility) to call into question the past behavior of those running for CPM? Where is written that candidates should be challenged and/or vetted privately via back-channel?
PS: This thread is not about you, but I do find it curious how frequently you refer to back-channel and/or private communications. We've a free framework here courtesy of CCP which provides for us a public and permanent written record. Why it is that you prefer to communicate where there is no public or permanent record, I can only speculate.

Where did I say you dislike Kirk?
Who said you weren't well within your rights?
Where were you bringing up these great points about Appia, someone you were intimately more familiar with and has been far more guilty of this type of thing?
Calling out people in a manner that is constructive is different than putting people on blast trying to point out flaws.
I displayed how those two varying purposes could be differentiated. You are being destructive.
For that matter why is this post not pointing out comprehensively anyone that's made these mistakes? Even being consistent to you charade I would expect you are preparing to make these posts about each candidate, should there be any evidence?
They are being misrepresented in that you're trying to use mistakes to define him. Instead of attempting to see if he's changed you're more interested in making sure it's simply put on blast that he's said these things.
"Kirk on the community"
The title indicates what the intent was.
backchannel/private communications? Frequently I refer?
You see, you're trying to give talking on skype a negative connotation. It's pathetic.
It's little different than people calling laws by various names to give them negative connotations and shock and awe factor.
EX: Obamacare instead of the ACA
Foodstamps vs Safety Net
You can have the last word [undoubtedly], but people won't be so easily swayed by petty attempts like this.
You can make whatever silly insinuations you like, I don't have to speculate to know why.
Hopefully one day you'll realize the value in more constructive posting because you have the capacity to effect a great amount of good bud. But this is not the best way to go about it.
Have a good one :)

If you're genuinely concerned, the best way to convince people that this is a worthwhile line of inquiry isn't dogging every single post of Kirk's with a retort. You're completely free to do whatever you like, of course, but don't be surprised when you encounter hostility as a result of the way you're expressing yourself.

Aside from those I've also largely never see you work on being a positive contributor to the community without some sort of carrot or status dangled in front of you (not saying it hasn't happened, just that I've never seen it). You seem to end up at odds with quite a few groups that you interact with (I too hate everything) and take incredibly reactionary and defensive positions, rather than advocating for more reasonable positions and cooler heads.
I do not think you have what it would take to be a good CPM candidate, and right now I very firmly believe you're preening for an audience. If you are genuinely working on your anger issues, good for you - I can sympathise as I have an anger disorder myself and it's very hard not to fall into a bad reinforcement loop with it.

Furthermore I cannot run in this election due to passport issues.
Lastly, for those of you jumping the gun on OP. Bother to reads the comments please, context is fundamental which Nothi is notorious for screwing Context out of place to his own advantage and manipulating others onto his side, targeting people who especially don't know the whole story.
If Dust, or some evolution of the forum is still here next election time I will run then. I've been with this game since the beginning and I'm not leaving until it's dead. Sadly US Passports aren't like the some other countries where you can get them in less than a month.

If I were in the business of twisting words, I wouldn't have to twist yours. There is no possible story or context wherein your past statements might be excused, justified or deemed anything other than inappropriate. Especially for someone running for a position as community representative.
These are your actions and your words, Kirk. These are your mistakes. Big Boys own their mistakes. Be a Big Boy, Kirk. Own your mistakes; don't try to pin them on other people.
