That would be a great idea but there is a problem. The game needs to continue making money and that means Rattati has to maintain a balance between focusing on bug fixes and introducing more content.
Let me give you an analogy to better explain why.
Pretend that I am an aircraft mechanic working for an airline. A commercial jet rolls into the hangar and is due for an annual inspection. However, since the aircraft is needed in action as often as possible to maintain revenue for the airline and since an aircraft on ground is an aircraft that is NOT making any money, we already filed the necessary paperwork to perform a progressive inspection instead.
A progressive inspection is exactly like an annual inspection only it is performed at set intervals (usually every month) over the course of an entire year rather than being performed all at once. On the first month we inspect the wings. The following month we inspect the tail section. The month after that we inspect the landing gear, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, and so on and so forth until the 12th month when finally sign it off as completed and say it's airworthy. In the meantime, the aircraft continues to fly for the airline to make more money. This is preferred over doing the entire inspection process all in one go.
Congratulations, you just learned something new that you probably won't even bother to use for the rest of your life unless you're an aircraft mechanic like me.

I'm just recently certified and I was only using the airline part as an analogy. But a quick search on AviationPros reveals that you're talking about a power unit used for testing things like landing gear retraction or any other part of the aircraft that relies on hydraulic power. Given its design, I would probably say it's used on regional aircraft that are not too big.

Polish contains bug fixes, but also minor design changes to existing features.
Some stuff I find relevant: - The charge level of weapons is being displayed in the wrong place (bottom right) instead of center, where you'd need it. - There is no visual feedback when you're being repaired. - The bandwidth feature is still in early development stage. (I've seen examples where loading screens even showed small first-person tutorial videos to explain how certain actions work. There's so much space for improvement.) - The aiming mechanics didn't receive a make-over since closed beta. We should at least get the possibility to manipulate sensitivity, non-linearity and deadzones for X and Y direction in the settings - maybe under an "advanced settings" tab. - I could go on. The gist of it is that Dust really needs some polish. |

That not surprising to be honest. Airlines, cargo companies, repair stations, and aircraft/engine manufacturers do things differently from each other depending on what's needed of the aircraft and under what Part of the FARs the aircraft operates in. Some places do what I like to call the Alphabet soup of Checks (A Check, B Check, C Check, etc.), some do annual inspections, others do progressive inspections, or some other form that is approved by both the manufacturer and the FAA.
By the way, you're lucky to be working for Northrop. That company has a lot of history.

Better netcoding and plugged memory leaks. Last pieces of the broken puzlzle.

The current bug count is massive and a few months would scarcely scratch the surface. Additionally there are a list of problems that are commonly called bugs but are in truth the reality of the network/server/client architecture that CCP/Iceland has foisted upon CCP/Shanghai. Solving the hit box issues, burdensome graphic detail that is useless in game, educating the players such that they realize the server resolved them getting killed before they got around the corner and the bullet did not actually go through the corner. It was merely displayed as such by their client software.
The UI is not acceptable. But this is what we have, should they spend more hours on it or leave it alone? Whether you ask that question to a thousand different subjects the truth is CCP Rattati has the actual responsibility and, for the most part, has served Dust514 players better than they were served previously. I do have significant disagreement with some of his decisions, but I am not his manager nor does he gives a rat's behind about my preferences.
If we had a dozen bugs that were well known, prioritized correctly (as in agreement which is impossible by the very nature of these forums) then I would say go for it. However, the bugs are in the hundreds. Two additional programmers, of exceptional quality, would be necessary to add to the staff full time and I don't see that happening.
The best course would require addressing the mediocre and unbalanced input device handlers, clarifying the network/server/client relationship so the gamers can get realistic about what is actually happening in game, improving the network communications and a persistent dialing back of the graphic load (getting rid of the stupid moods would be great). Of course, as a player that tanks more than anything else fixing the horrendous problems with the turrets would be high on my list.
Please post again when you have a bug list that you propose they focus on.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.
