Was the intention to allow prototype to be placed on these things? I know the fitting is kind of low at the moment, but... I can stick on proto weapons now, even complex modules... like... the fitting capacity can be bumped up easily with PG and CPU modules, and then you're pretty much free to put anything you want on them, while removing the cost of the suit you're modifying. I like the fact that I can put my skin on it, but I'm not sure if allowing all module, equipment and weapon levels was a good idea.

Freedom is one thing, but this can't be intentional. I've got over 800eHP on a Minmatar assault, advanced weapon, 11 armor repair rate... the thing is easily as good as an advanced suit, but it only costs 29K Isk to restock. It's a bit insane, given my Quafe Gallente assault costs 21K to restock. You've just got so much fitting room given a CPU and PG module. It easily puts them up to advanced suits in level.

so it seems it is at least at the moment, a desicion of either.. great tank or great firepower.. we can;t have both like you would a normal Proto.
Might need some tweaking, but it's certainly not comparable to real proto ability. I wouldn't worry too much.. maybe shave off 2 PG and 7 CPU

oh , and this sob still costs 91k.. so it aint exactly free run around willy nilly blastin.. it comes with a price
gonna try tank over fire fit next.
It's good but not proto good, not even close. I doubt it is even close to ADV good, but thanks, this is why we were looking at fitting upgrades.

To be honest its surely better then standard but not better then advanced. Cause you have much better fitting on advanced suits then you have on the apex.

very little room in tank ability unless I want to move like a slug ( Federation spartan assault)
PG seems right.. it might be the CPU needing attention for the complex dmg mod stacking and stuff
when trying for tank, I don't get a significant difference as I run out of PG quick , but have a substantial amount of CPU left over almost 100

oh yes, I cerrtainly agree.. I would never run this thing tbh. it was a test fit to see what I could get out of it. If someone wants to run like this.. let them I say , lol. maybe a slight lowering in CPU , but it just wouldn't be a logical fit to use when I could shell out a little more isk for much better potential on another suit.

you can do some nice full advanced fittings on it, but this thing will never be replaced by proto suits. It can replace the advanced.. for a very small savings in isk..very small
with the extra spots being used up by PG/CPU upgrades, you can't get over the potential of an advanced suit.. only near equal, it still lacks the repair ability if you match the HP... (**** hell not even close. just looked again at advanced fit I was comparing.. it has complex dmg mods, so it doesn't even come to 3/4 the potential of an advanced suit****)
good job actually, Rattati , final opinion is.. working
gives us room to make it a little better than the free , but not even able to surpass an advanced |

It's not as good as proto, but this is still a bit too powerful for 22k in my opinion.
Removing the cloak saves a huge amount of fitting room, and is quite easy to abuse to create fits like this.

Are PG upgrades a high slot now?
Anywhoo, if I had to take a wild guess I'd say
1 complex dmg mod 1 Complex PG mod 1 krin dmg mod Duvolle 1 flaylock 3 basic plates 1 CPU upgrade 1 complex repair mod
Good ehp and dmg At a reduced cost.

The main concern I have for the APEX suits it that the marginalize the utility of basic bpos. Often times for similar or better fitting space, I have more slots. Fitting 2 complex repair modules on my basic commando was a difficult task, but fitting 3 enhanced ones can be done for less fitting. They end up being better than basic tier suits that I could make with a traditional bpo. Especially when weapons and modules overlap. Definitely makes my existing bpo suits obsolete. I did some math for the suits I didn't get yet, due to specific fitting preferences, and instead I can get them, and fit them better than previously.
There are arguments to be made for tieracide, and that apex suits have tremendous up-front costs, so them being equivalent to advanced or less suits is acceptable. My main concern is that its hard to justify shelling out cash for that bpo you wanted, or get excited for one you recieved in a strongbox when you have an apex suit, or can get one. It also hurts the secondary resale value of old bpos as anything more than skins (after future adjustments make them into a skin/bpo). While I argueably recieved value from my old items, I doubt people will want to buy them in the future.

Heh, someone might actually use a fitting upgrade.
Honestly I think APEXes should be restricted to just STD modules, if possible. The only problem with them was that some of them had suboptimal fits and they were inflexible, not a lack of power. APEXes were very useful items - now they've effectively been buffed so that they're at least equivalent to an ADV suit BPO.

I think the change is great. You can build something of around advanced quality using your APEX and that sounds right since you either spent good money or a lot of time for one. They do decrease the value of the standard BPO suits (not the modules though). Personally I deleted my Task Murkon sentinel fits, and rebuilt using Apex Dominus. Do not have the same equipment, but Dominus is better.
My Nomad fit is now
Adv combat rifle Breach smg Krins damage mod -rest of high slots unchanged Compl shield reg Compl ferroscale Complex reactive Pre installed basic reactive
Flux grenades Stable uplink
Not the greatest but better than apex in all ways, and most importantly great fun fitting and playing.
I think the change is awesome:
1) it will make vets far more likely to buy or grind for an apex suit (potential $$ or better fw) 2) news will want them as they can get better as you do 3) more people will be losing money with deaths as no one will go vanilla APEX if they can help it 4) protos are still clearly superior in every way if you can afford them 5) adv are still better for specific purposes but not as generalist due to missin slots 6) standard suits are not as good, but few you can quickly get out of them with dollars or fw time
Those are my thoughts, and I believe this flexibility makes the game better and more competitive.
