Oh, may I ask then why they weren't changed for old players then? I mean... I'm a living example that not all old players have upgraded their infantry skills.

Upgrade one item in that fitting to basic and then it works.

if you can't afford a STD grade module or weapon for every fit you own you have bigger problems than a starter fit can cure.

If you really need to use a starter fit, run the medic
It has the same stats as the assault suit, just one less slot and two equipment.

In other words, a basic assault with two equipment slots.

GǪ... MarasdF, your posts are starting to READ as if you are feeling abused or offended or objectionable to the changes. There really isn't a problem for you, if you study the new layouts and new "starter-style" fits that have been inserted.

None of us, especially players who have been at this game more than 8 months, should expect the "free" items to stay preserved exactly as they were year after year. They will (they SHOULD) change just like other advanced/proto/etc items keep periodically altering.
It's just a coincidence that the starter-fit you're asking about is the SNIPER starter fit. This was a fit that CCP realized new players were grabbing and clutching onto as a means of withdrawing from more demanding participation in the matches. "Starter -Sniper" had to be replaced with a more "get out there into the action of the map" kind of player activity.

But regardless, if you're like the rest of us who have been in the game enough to support a budget-war (I think you have enough in your wallet to fit that description by now), you'll find that you REALLY outgrown and don't need those starter-suits anymore. Newberrys, yes, they need, for their Militia-trying journey. But you, no.

Shop through the marketplace, and replace each of your starter fit suits with a Standard-Loadout Suit or a Basic Suit that closely matches it, and duplicate all your fav gear/mods on THEM. Don't hold onto Starter Fits anymore. A Standard or Basic suit barely costs you 3000 ISK more, and it gives you an extra slot somewhere that your starter suits didn't have.

Like Mina Longstrike said on a thread recently, it's really hard for players to recognize the point in their development where they need to completely TOSS OUT their Militia and Starter stuff---because to continue using them is actually hurting and holding them back.

Your problem with the Sniper Starter Fit is no-worries, MarasdF. It may be just a helpful push out of the nest.

I agree with this, so much. Starter fits are for starters. You may have spec'd into vehicles but you should be able to make a cheap fitting from militia or basic gear. My cheap fittings are under 5k per suit and all basic.
