Is truly astounding!
Was in a match earlier, started out with 5 solo folks on our side vs 14 of theirs with a corp squad of at least 4, and yet when the map barely loads in, immediately 2 reds leave the match!
Why do folks hate this map so much that they will go so far as to give up a free win?
By the way, the match ended 4 vs 15, a squad of 3 joined mid match on their team, GG Scotty...

It's a horrible, horrible map for Skirm/Dom, especially in these dark days of the CalaMario. I'll give it one go per night, then I'm out.

Because playing the same map 8 - 10 times in a row is truly terrible. Playing a map for the 10th time while also trying to chase around the 2 out of 5 enemies who actually spawned in is just a huge no way.
I truly believe that the train map needs to be removed from rotation for a couple of weeks so that we can get a break from it.

If I join a team that has double the players than the enemy, I leave. Assuming I notice at least, I literally NEVER check the player board till after the match lol.

The map is too one dimensional, it's still glitched in several spots, and jumpy suits made it worse because you spend the entire map chasing them while fending off splash dmg.

This is strictly a theory.
I believe when the MCC map was added at a very low rotation a bug in the map rotation caused the train map to fill in the gap whenever the MCC map would have been loaded in an equal rotation. |

It's confirmed that the train map has a slightly higher appearance rate, and the MCC map was added "as a test" with a super low rate, both were intentional.
Regardless, as much as I do enjoy the train map myself, I would like to see the others more often as well.

I agree that it pops up a bit too much but I think that it is a much much better Dom map than whatever that Cal one is with the Ramps down to the underground point and the hole at the back to drop down on.
'Fun' if you're a heavy\logi team but once the points are locked down it just becomes lemmings throwing themselves against a brick wall.
Gal Research is similar but slightly less frustrating if you're not HMG'd up.
Train Map at least has some variety and opportunities for hackers etc around the map. |

Please reduce it alot. I have very little time to play during the week due to work. This map comes up way to often, on Wednesday I believe it came up 4 out of the 7 battles I did. I'm sorry I resuse to play that damn map and will back out every time. Please just get rid of that damn map please , that or make it rare to get . Do a survey and see how many people actually like it compaired to how many cant stand it . I'm sure theres people that like it but I'm positive more people cant stand it than like it

I have an intense dislike for the map due to the alpha socket and how annoying myo fits get inside it. "You mean we can jump anywhere, have splash damage weapons, spam uplinks in spots that only other myo fits can get to and if we're not noticed punch people for 700 damage? how could this be poorly thought out at all!"

I like the train map.
But I agree that it should go aback to the same frequency in the rotation as other maps.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

But what if they leave because some squad members didn't join the battle?
Then do they have to suffer 15-20 minutes because of a glitch?

lol you are forgetting about the "random" disconnected from psn or signed out issue. Plus Mr Machine Gun if you go into a battle where it is 2-6 vs 11-16 will you stay? that is just a waste of 15-20 mins waiting on a red to kill or trying to fight out of your redline as it is being camped by 8+ reds using everything from tanks, sniper rifles, speed runner to run deep in your redline just to kill you and kill themselves in the process. |

I'm siding with those who believe the "Trainyard" map is a good, righteous map---both in Domination and in Skirmish mode.
The fact that the map is active too frequently compared with other maps is obviously due to whatever internal processes CCP is going through in their Igor-Laboratory, so there's little sense in criticizing them too much for it----they will adjust it as soon as they've finished what necessitated the "deployment lockdown" in the first place. All is good.
But I think boredom or sense of futility in players only comes from inability (or flat refusal) to change our corny methods of competing for the map objectives. Even though I may carry the same sort of gear/deployables into the trainyard map, I WON'T rigidly use the same darn assault/defend methods in every session.
If the reds charged straight for the Objective this time, and I see no one running with me to snatch the Objective before them, I may deploy equipment near the Objective to "encourage" reinforcement.
If the reds came with Forge Guns, or HMGs, Mass Drivers, etc, I can't really think of myself as a 'skilled' player if I am not interested in trying new experiments to counter this surprise weapon the enemy brought with him this time. Good players TRY to change-up their methods and adapt.
If my fellow blues claim the Objective before I even join them, I may not put equipment down at all---especially if I see they seem to have the same deployables already set up---COOL. I'll stick with you guys and defend. Or I'll fall back and support you with the Installations, to stall the red vehicle assault I see massing at the top of the map.
Or I'll circle around and try to shut down all red CRUs I can reach.
Or I'll use uplinks to try to get behind the reds in their own staging area---and invite a Redline.
So, how boring, or not worth fighting, the trainyard map becomes is really determined by us, not by the map, (not even by the red team, as much as we may often assume).
And I'd hate to see a penalty for players needing to (or punking out and choosing to) leave the match. Maybe a "lock" that prevents you from voluntarily leaving after the first 120 seconds or soGǪ so the only way you can leave is to log out of the game entirely. But no penalty-punishment. They have the right to choose leaving, even if I may not always want them to.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

I agree, under most circumstances leaving a game should result in the match being recorded as a loss (forfeit) and any stat or isk gains being forfeit also.
That said I also agree the rotation frequency for this particular map is off, it is waaay to common an experience to have it come up 4,5,6 times in a row. And then when there's a break and a different map comes up afterwards its back to the trainmap again a bunch of times.
