My point is that in the first 3 mins, if all objectives are capped by the enemy but I stay and fight and go 5-6 and struggle to stay alive there's really not much of a payoff for fighting so hard. You want both the winners AND the losers to feel like they got something worthwhile for their effort. You don't want half the people feeling like they got shafted, like their time was wasted. Games should not waste your time. And if they do... well, they are a literal waste of time. Kinda like FW. And nobody puts the "ME" in Mercenary more that PS3 players too. The game dealt with AFK players and farmers a long time ago, and it was agreed to MINIMIZE them, not totally eliminate them. And arguably, it makes sense in New Eden. Some players are privateers, and exploiters, and social miscreants, and some are worse than that. Any match you play, part of your "Dust Mastery" has to include anticipating "X" number of players out of your team's 16 to be unsuitable to help you in this fight. Make no mistake, being a Newberry is a perfectly legitimate reason not to be able to keep up with us like a superstar--that's cool. Being in the match to "farm" is a privateer habit, and if you want to make your ISK THAT way, I won't hassle you about that---if you go against the enemy, you'll probably only trip me up and get me killed in ways a Newberry never would be so clumsy to do anyway. But Dust allows you to "farm" and still contribute in SOME dinky way to helping your team win, without you just squatting behind a Biomass smokestack or pooping in the MCC. You can farm by buying a single militia uplink and sticking it next to our Home Letter. Or look, get a militia hand-repper, and when you see one of our Intsallations got damaged, take the repper and 'squirt' a little at the Installation. You won't get hurt, and you can farm all you want. You're only a pitiful sight when you're choosing to deliberately do NOTHING at all and tell yourself you deserve a paycheck for being in the match. Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne... No story can have life without writers and publishers.

So if you're on the losing side what is the point of trying to do anything if your reward will not be affected.

The strongest opinion is 'it is unexpected and unwanted behavior'. CCP Rattati is the only one who has said 'I don't like it' and also introduced mechanisms to discourage afk farming - but still not condemning it. Set it illegal and then cry for banhammer. If something is gonna be done, it's got to be done properly and by the book. Looking at both sides of the coin. Even Aurum one.
