To those of you who do not know, a Rugby superstar was taken by the San Francisco 49ers as a prospect.
In no way do I want to hate, but:
He is too slow- a 4.5 40yd (I ran better than that in HS) He catches the ball with his body, not out stretched hands. He has a language deficit in technical Football language and everyone in the NFL is fast- and 70% are faster than this guy!!!
Sorry RUGBY, but you're hero is about to get blown up by the NFL! |

I really hope that he excels I really do, but the Pacific is a small pond compared to Rugby and the NFL. I want to see MERICA give you all a good RUGBY challenge in the upcoming Olympics and as an ambassador to the sport I truly welcome Hayden.
I know, after watching his training films, that if he learns to reach out for the ball, and can learn "football" language a good coach could make him a situation player-other than special teams (punt returns and kick off returns).
BUT he is not fast, not NFL fast.

Eh... it's to reduce neural deterioration which happens to ALL sports players who specialize in impacts. More specifically any impacts to the head.
Yes, Neural degeneration. That's slow brain damage over time, where the nerves gradually hemorrhage into one another.

Not true.
The "red shots" I did not like, but I played though concussions and yes sometimes I hit lows, but who doesn't.
I used it and made a career out of being "Alpha Male" ya I was the top 1%, but I always said that it was because I was to stupid to run from pain..LOL only my vets will see this |

Bro, you don't need to wait till the Olympics to see how bad the Americans are in rugby. World Cup is only a few months away and the All Blacks are gonna win again!
You guys always get creamed in the pool matches and I will say you guys have gotten better but against the Wallabies, Springboks, the Irish, the British, hell even the Welsh and the Scottish...

Your superstar is going to get his ass handed to him. The NFL is not a place for a dreamer-it is too fast and too violent.
Rugby is a very simplistic game, but not as gay as soccer-I'll give you that, but everyone in the NFL is Fast and a 4.5 in the 40 is slooooow, hell there are 290lbs defensive ends that are faster and quicker no less.

Bro, there is a massive difference between Rugby and Rugby League.
Also keep in mind your NFL stars have two teams (offensive and defensive) and use up all their speed and stamina in short sprints. Not to mention you have downs and three timeouts each half with breaks each quarter and a 30min half time.
In proper Rugby (not league) you only have two halves 40 minutes each. Each team only has 15 a side with between 6-8 reserves. We take no timeouts unless injury occurs and have a small break in our half time. Each player has to be an all rounder and had to learn how to both tackle and run the ball. Not to mention rucks, mauls and brawls are frequent.
Did I mention we don't switch players every two minutes?
Edit: Also no downs, its 40min continuous and we don't use pads. Only mouth guards and the occasional soft leather helmet.
I find your lack of heaviness... disturbing...

Therefore different types of players.
