No? Why not? There aren't that many blind corners, nor handy spots where one could place a remote in the open, and still have it useable for play.
Imagine if you had to stop, and set up a tripod, just to use an Assault rifle, or any other kind of rapid-fire gun. How many people would you logically kill then? They see you stop to set the tripod, they'd either shoot you with a sidearm, or just run out of your fire area.
It's the same concept for remotes.

Also, remotes aren't that hard to deter. You just need to actually look at the play field instead of tunnel-vision twitch play.

If you have remotes in your hand enough you can get remotes. But if you frisbee detonate and sit and wait with your shotgun you will get shotun. I got 11 laser kills once, but got my toxin smg as my favorite because I spent most of the match jogging around looking for people to shoot and I always jog with SMG in hand. Only 1 SMG kill that fight.

Ran around for a round with the RE out and just killed with a BrScP then immediately went back to REs. At the end of the round, the BrScP (my weapon) was shown as favorite despite having the REs "out" for 90% of the match. Did the same thing with the BrScP and ARR. Ran around with the BrScP out but killed with ARR. BrScP was listed as favorite. Will play around some more -- including Imp's suggestion about nades -- but it looks more and more like it's the weapon in your hands the longest that gets the favorite.
