FYI, the weapon you get the most kills with appears in your favorite weapon -- including REs, Grenades, and sidearms.

Nope, hence why vehicle users don't get the turret they got the most kills with.
Who said anything about vehicles?

I hadn't either. Until I was practicing a round just messing with core locus grenades. I was surprised that it came up as my favorite, then we played around a bit with it, arriving at the conclusion above.
That said, I will double check the "out" versus "klilled", as I did not test that variance. |

I do, occasionally, in PC (or when practicing for them). I don't run them much in pubs, however. And TBH, I kind of detest the tactic. |

I stand corrected. Just ran a few battles, and initial indications are that it's the weapon you have "out" rather than killing or damage that makes it show as your favorite weapon. I'll run some more tests to see if I can get the grenade to be my favorite -- I'm at a loss to explain our observations before (it's been quite some time, perhaps the algorithm changed?).
Regardless, initial test show that's its the weapon you have out (i.e. ready to fire) the most. |

While I wasn't specifically testing it, I took a picture of a match where I got 28 kills and despite the fact that all but perhaps 3-4 of my kills were with Remote Explosives my Primary Weapon appeared as my favorite weapon. I'd like to see a picture where a RE appeared as the "Favorite Weapon".
I tried (and failed) to accomplish this.
Ran around for a round with the RE out and just killed with a BrScP then immediately went back to REs. At the end of the round, the BrScP (my weapon) was shown as favorite despite having the REs "out" for 90% of the match.
Did the same thing with the BrScP and ARR. Ran around with the BrScP out but killed with ARR. BrScP was listed as favorite.
Will play around some more -- including Imp's suggestion about nades -- but it looks more and more like it's the weapon in your hands the longest that gets the favorite. |
