A shotgun can actually -hit- what you point it at and doesn't try to get you killed in the eventuality that you miss xD One does not simply "aim with it", you have to pray to the Heathen Gods that they'll guide the freaggin round on target or you spend the next two seconds waving it around like a flaming baton, unable to do jack while the enemy laughs at you for being an idiot and running the Ion Pistol in the first place. The only people who run the Ion Pistol are Gallente-Loyalist role-players like Sgt Kirk and Cat Merc who try to make it work and they only do it because it's the only Gallente sidearm available, despite openly admitting that it's probably the worst weapon in the game just -because- it's so terrible. A pocket shotgun, , it's charged shot does about as much damage as the Bolt Pistol does dumb-fire; the key difference here is that you have heat management to deal with which is about as unforgiving as sleeping on a cheese grater and the seize happens -EVERY. FREAGGIN. TIME. YOU CHARGE SHOT.- Sometimes it'll overheat and seize up without even firing a round just because you were stupid enough to run an Ion Pistol. And you know what's even more hilarious? The fact that for the duration of this seize, the only thing you can do is look at your enemy and hope to god he counters you so hard your nipples pop off like champagne corks instead of giving you the false sense of hope that you might win that little encounter. But CCP made it a 2 shot death gun that has range, bullet magnetism PLUS Aim Assist. The thing is too powerful. Especially at the hands of HMG heavies and Shotgun scouts. No escape from them. Changes to Damage mods!

I think this should be corrected as a primary should always out DPS a sidearm. The bolt pistol is complained about the most because of its high alpha. so you get shot up by a primary a lot then BP you with 1 follow up shot. The BP may need a less damage per shot but i think all side arms need a nerf. They should not act as primaries. But theirs also the argument that High alpha weapons should have less DPS this Includes all weapons. I think the max potential for a basic BP is 550 DPS minus How Fast you pull the trigger. So it can equal a primary with high alpha is not good. The scrambler rifle has A choice of High alpha or High DPS because of heat build up unless you put it on a assault. Even still you lose some DPS potential if you do a full charged shot. The sniper follows this rule of only having 220 DPS so you have to rely on head shots. That is my input on this.
