They are stupidly OP, every idiot can kill in a suit with double hps and double dps. They have been stupidly OP since 1.8 it is time to balance them.
They fact that they ve been so op for so long makes me think that you never ever play your own game, or at least that no one in CCP or the CPM plays PC!

Jesus Holy fuking Christ man. Go grab a kleenex, midol, tampons. If you cant find a way to kill heavies then just quit playing.
You can outrange them rail rifles, drop RE's, shotgun them. Running a heavy is not easy mode.
Most of all,,,,please reach down a grab your balls and make sure they are still attached. Realize you are still a man and quit acting like a b!tch.
With all due respect of course....

Sentinels are OP at their Role?
Working as intended...
Logi's are OP at their role
Scouts are OP at their role..
Assaults are OP at their role..
Commandoes - we warned CCP that they would have the hardest time finding a role for this suit and then balancing it.
You get a sentinel out to a field and they are useless...
You can have more health and do more damage with any suit except the logi.
You scan out a scout with a gal logi and they are squishy and useless...
You can try to get an assault to push an objective defended by sentinels and are largely easy pickins...
Commandoes die anywhere except in toe to toe fights with some distance.
Sentinels are strong at their role but are near useless on any map without closed internal structures..
Nerfing something because it is too good at it's role is about as stupid as these forums get.

Yeah and scouts that can have almost four times the speed of a Sentinel is cool tho right? Shoot em with a shotgun three times before they even turn around? Or drop one explosive and kill three heavies? you come on here preaching about balance. Get out

I have no difficulty slaying Sentinels using a sentinel with an HMG, a scout with a shotgun or PLC, or an assault with a Rail Rifle or ACR... Or any suit with a remote explosive.
Perhaps you need to rethink how you attempt to slay suits.

I will answer to you cause this is the only answer that isnt completely ********.
What is sentinels role? Defend points! Now I am sure none that answered so far have ever played a single PC match. Now how are sentinels used in PC? To defend points, yes, but they are the main force to attack too. Sentinels have been OP out of their role for way too long, assaults are almost never used to assault, it is sentinels role. Assaults are only useful when they support sentinel's attack.
Go play a PC and use sentinels only to defend and assaults to attack points...

Because, a heavy isn't attacking on it's own. It will require an uplink close enough that he isn't ripped a part trying to get anywhere. So if heavies are giving you issues in PC the other side has an excellent support player putting their heavies there.
The heavy has a singular purpose - kill. Assaults, Logi's, Scouts, they can do a multitude of different roles and have many more variations of play. So it goes to show that the heavy whose only role is carry a big gun would dominate confrontations handed to him up front.
The trick in PC is to get your scouts to find out where heavies are coming from and circle around and kill up-link. Just ignore the heavies till the point is secure for a push - heavies don't live long.

I took down a PRO Amarr Sentinel with 1100ish armor 1v1 in my All-BPO Assault. Only used the MLT Ion BPO and charged shots. Granted I took plenty of cover, I killed his back up, and took pot shots whenever I could, but I killed him in about 6 or 7 shots.

Off-topic... But I hate people that complain about the commando. Distance my arse! put a shotgun on a commando and good luck anyone running in close thinking they have a chance.
The problem with commando is everyone trying to assign it a role. It's role is to not have a defined role, you can fit it in a multitude of ways to be useful at just about anything.
Need a tanky support because your Logi's getting boned - Commando with a rep tool.
Need someone to cover the squads back and pick people up when they die - Needle Commandoooooooo.
Need to hold a point until backup arrives? - Commmmaaaaaannnnddoooooooooooooooooo.
Need some help taking down that vehicle? - Commando with PLC (Don't be a swarm scrub!) COmmaaaannnndooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Sentinels are not OP. Use your surroundings to your advantage. In a 550-600 EHP Min Assault yesterday, grinding ISK with a MLT CR and SMG, I outstrafed a HMG heavy, ducked behind corners, regen health, and popped out to kill him. He was using a ADV sentinel with a MH-82.

What should they do against a sentinel? 2 assaults are attacked by a sentinel and his logi? Who will win? (inb4 the 2 assaults have to flank, kill the logi then start flanking the sentinel to be able to kill him) I am being quite sincere. You're engaging in a conflict you're not prepared for - and they have access to quickly return to the front lines. You need to cut that off if you want to escape a meat grinder battle against heavies.
And our heavies are supported by scout players who are doing exactly that - taking out your links. We use heavies as a distraction more then anything - while you focus on them you'll be losing all your links and positioning to the scouts.
We also have confidence that our heavies will beat your heavies when it comes down to it - so we're out flanking and over-powering you at the same time.
As for assaults - they're the best outside point holders. City has too many corridors and places for heavies to duck out of trouble for assaults to make a big difference, and they don't have the speed scouts do to get out of the trouble.
But you'll find assaults and commandos in city anyways - camping roofs. Nothing much a heavy can do about that but cry, a lot.
and you're waaaaaay overestimating the HMG - it's only doing those kind of numbers against another heavy or a terrible player who isn't strafing.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that the assault role is DPS - and that the city is mainly a rooftop/catwalk confrontation. This gives the assaults room to breathe and be useful in holding points and positions.
On certain maps - such as Towers map with the playstation building - you will want to bring many more assaults then scouts or heavies, as they'll be DPSing everything down from the shrooms and roofs. And you'll want Mincommando supporting them.
As is everything in this game - it's all situational. The only map that is played in PC these days is the Rings map - and heavies dominate it because everything is shootable within 35m and there's plenty of corners and crates to hide behind.

So answer to this question, yes or no: as an assault my main roles in a PC are A) defending outside points Or B) if I want to be effective in the city, I have to Camp on roofs.

Honestly, man, I'd rather just call you an idiot and move on at this point, which was going to be my last post, but I'll make it this one instead.
Because you crying about what assaults are capable of is laughable - because I didn't choose heavy to act like a ******* mobile turret. Dust was supposed to allow complete customization of our perfect soldier - but we can see how much BS that is. If a heavy even trys to play as something other then point defense - you'll ******* cry your eyes out until CCP nerfs it rather then modifying your suits and play to handle the situation.
There's ******* modules on your suit for a ******* reason and a large array of different weapon choices for a ******* reason. Use it and shut the **** up.

I did a huge mathematical demonstration of how OP Sentinels are. unfortunately it was too long to read.
There are two reasons: there's no real counter to a sentinel except another sentinel (in other words it's more like a rock, paper, scissor, shotgun) Sentinels + Heavies are the only classes which can equip the best mid/close range weapon.
Hence in competitive matches you'll only see sentinels + logi on cqc points and scouts + vehicles on the other points.
In my opinion, there should be an anti-heavy class (which, i think should be the commando but it actually doesn't its job well)
(Logi) Commando>Heavy>Assault>Scout>Commando would make sense to me...
