They got their own voice chat feature made and installed in Uprising 1.0, so they could get rid of UVTs.
So its not like they didn't have a reason for them. And they made a point to get rid of the UVTs as soon as they could.
They were a little overpriced though...

No, they just took the hit and made it available for everyone.
They're still outsourcing the voice chat, same as they do with EVE.
And @Aeon, they were 50 cents a month.

Think Rattati was reference to the significant use of Windows Paint as opposed to taking multiple hours to design a UI that looks similar to the one we have in-game.
That would be the original Aura from a decade ago. The AI that teaches players how to play, narrates simple statements, etc.
